Great places for a fresh breath of air or a smoke break. I've never had a bad time with the bartenders or bouncers. Drinks are solid and do the job. The music is typical bar music. You can definitely wait to hear a song you like. The atmosphere just isnt for me. It can be packed in Jo Cats and it still looks boring. We walked through the entire bar. Not a single song pulled us to the dance floor. I try to only come when there's no cover so I dont feel salty about wanting to leave.

The place was friendly but not very full and it seemed that the few people that were in were possibly owners and employees by the conversation of scheduling and opening for super bowl tomorrow. The two ladies working the bar had no clue what a Gin Rickey was so no drink on me, any bartender who gets it with out asking gets a drink on me and that's only been 2 so far. The place wasn't busy at all and my server/bartender didn't do a great job at taking care of me and I waited 10 minutes at least for a box and a check after I was clearly done with my meal. The Swiss patty melt looked delicious with a cold pickle, onion straws and what looked like 1000 island dressing on the side. The pickle was a nice size with decent crunch wise. The onion straws were perfect with a light breading, tasty/thin cooked in relatively fresh oil. The Swiss patty melt was cooked perfectly rare with a char grill flavor, melty Swiss cheese, translucent onions with some crunch on perfectly toasted marble rye bread. Overall the service could have been better and yah I could have ordered an Irish staple but I was thoroughly satisfied with with the Bloody and burger of the month.

My first experience with Jack's was pretty cool and a lot of fun.  I came here with the son to take…read moreadvantage of the nice and convenient shuttle service from their pub to a Brewers' game at American Family Field and back after the game.  All you have to do to earn the round trip shuttle ride is buy a drink or food.  So the son got me a delightful draft Lakefront Brewery Hazy Rabbit hazy IPA and he got a rum and coke, and the total for both was just $9.  Great deal, shuttle or no shuttle!  Jack's is also a very popular and vibrant sports bar on vibrant Brady St and the place was hopping at about 5pm, roughly 2 hours before the 6:45pm Cubs-Brewers game on this Friday night.  We caught the 2nd shuttle out as they start shuttling out at 2 hours before game time.  When I got on the bus, there was a resounding chorus of boos, and I thought it was because we held the departure up a few minutes, but I quickly realized it was my Cubs hat, lol. Brewers fans are the best around, what can I say!   Anyway, it was a very fun ride as you can bring your drink on board, and it's the very first time I headed to a ball game while enjoying a drink, and it was a party bus indeed.  I felt a whole generation younger being on that bus!  The pro-tip for you is to catch the 1st or 2nd shuttle as the son has learned from experience that you can be stuck in AFF traffic and go nowhere for an hour if you're much later than the 2nd shuttle.  You get a wrist band that entitles you to get on the return shuttle after the game and there wasn't much wait to get on board and for a quick 15 minute trip back to Jack's.  It was all very convenient and a great way to transit to a Brewers' game.  They have a bunch of shuttles to and from the game from various bars and this is just one of them, but it's a great service and a great value, and it's a win-win for both the pubs and the fans.  I'm a big fan particularly of Jack's American Pub now!

If you love a good burger, wings and like to enjoy smoking cigarettes while you eat without any strange looks this is a must stop . Friendly faces are always found at its barstools that will tell you some local stories and keep you entertained for hours.

The bartenders Ted, Angie and Michelle are friendly but I usually stop over on teds shifts. Yes it's the classic Wisconsin dive bar with real people/characters and not clicky like some bars and they welcome outsiders with out judgement. It's nice to run into friends and talk like the cheers of my neighborhood with its regulars. Food wise frozen pizza is all they had at the previous place and I haven't smelled pizza wafting through the bar at the new place so that might not even be an an option but you can ask, I had the frozen pizza years ago and it's pretty standard bar pizza that's made in Milwaukee and not bad for frozen bar pizza.

I'm…read morehappy to say I'm still a regular patron and it is still being well-run and managed by James Moran. They now offer food and many promotions like Trivia Night, pool tournaments, South Milwaukee High School fundraisers, trips to Ireland/England, and then there's St. Patrick's week. Morans takes over Milwaukee Avenue with daily events and an outdoor Irish festival, which never disappoints. With World Cup upcoming this summer. I look forward to spending a lot of time and money there :). If you've never visited, this summer is a great opportunity to do so. Cheers!

Visited Moran's Pub on Wednesday for their Trivia night. The place was filled with patrons, lively…read moremusic and energy in the place. Our group sat in the back room, which had plenty of seating and could participate in the trivia with ease. The service was attentive, clean, quick and just felt comfortable there. As you do at an Irish bar, I had the Guinness and it took me back to my time in Ireland. This was a great evening - I would totally come back!
