Everyone that came after me got their food. The lead came by and say they forgot to put in my order. No apologies no nothing. I was so piss. Had me waiting for 1hour and didn't get my order. Better quality and service this time around! Tried the crabber fries and they were delicious! Still a must go to with the shabang sauce. Lime, salt and pepper make it all the better. I like the downtown location much more. they're both big inside even if there's a wait, it's not terribly long for downtown at least. I walked in and the place was crazy packed. My phone order took about ten minutes which was great. For my to go order the girl took a long time to hand me my order don't know if anyone has stolen food from them before or not. I was craving seafood boil and decided to head to the boiling crab. It has been a very long time since I've been back. I got 1 lb of shrimp and 1lb of mussels with potatoes in the whole shabang medium. I also asked for lime, and got a very big bag. One thing I've noticed is that they do not skim on the food! 1lb here is so much more food than I've received at other seafood boil restaurants. The seafood are also super fresh and delicious. Went for Father's Day. Busy, but the usual busy I'd say. Waitstaff nice enough but never was offered any refills. Also, food took over an hour to get. Saw one guy leave because of the wait for his food. We decided to take to go as we had kids who had enough sitting in a highchair. Great location. The staff are extremely kind and attentive. It shows as well in the location upkeep. Everything is incredibly clean and organized. Food is great as well and our order was great. A 3.6/5 honestly confuses me. I wish I could rate this place higher than a 5/5 because it deserves it. The staff is welcoming and polite, and the food is on a tier of its own. The only down side? We did phone in orders for pick up. The lady on the other line was very patient on taking our multiple orders. They have a different area for take outs only, just across their original dining place. Cute little area for payment and pick up. Our order was accurate ready in time for pick up as they promised. Been going here for years and each visit always hits!! 1lb shrimp (head on), medium spice, whole shabang, sausages with Cajun fries. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I can always rely on their sauce being buttery and thicccc as some place's seasoned sauces are watery... Service and staff are always on point. Never had a bad experience. This is the second time coming in. Both to celebrate a friend's birthday. They accommodated 11 of us along with holding the cake for us. Waiting time wasn't too bad as we got here prior the rush of dinner. All of our seafood was very flavorful and fulfilling. We order a variety from Raw Oysters,Dungeness crab, Calamari and Fried Shrimp, Shibang scallops, Fried oysters and more. The only thing the shrimp was over cooked and on the mushy inside but common as it is cooked with other seafood within the bag. Ambiance is always loud and busy but not overwhelming. Staff is always working either cleaning, seating or serving. All in all this place has great flavors and for sure doesn't disappoint! read more

No to impress with this location, we waited 2 hours to be seated, (I had wait before at the other location but at least the service is good & the food). Our food was served cold, fits they brought the rice and like 10-15 minutes later the shrimp so by the time the shrimp got there the rice was already cold, however the shrimp was also cold, we barely saw our waiter/ waitress we have to asked for refills , because they barely came to check on us, the bathroom was dirty no paper liners and toilet paper all over the floor. The parking is super full and if you have an order to go you have to go across the street, but I didn't see any signs stating that, but people kept coming in asking for their to go food and they send them to another building. read more

The food was delicious! The king and snow crab came out first. The whole shabang mild season paired so well with the crab, the family almost finished before the appetizers came out. We had the catfish basket, crabber lemon pepper fries, and a lb of shrimp with corn, sausage, potatoes, eggs and a side of rice. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and eager to help. This spot is amazing. I should start off by saying we drove two hours to come here. We did have to wait an hour so I recommend putting yourself on the waitlist if you have the availability to do so. Service was really good. Our server was very attentive and was constantly bringing us water, which was nice because we got the medium spicy boil and it was spicy. There was five of us and it came out to around 160 and two of us got crab legs. Locally where we live whenever we go to any shrimp boil place it normally cost us about $200. I got the shrimp boil and the snow crab legs, as well as a side of rice and I added potatoes to it, and the food was spectacular . My sister is normally a picky eater, and we both refuse to get crab legs locally because they are very expensive and have no meat. however at the boiling crab we both decided to try the crab legs and they had a lot of meat and they were definitely worth the price. I think we paid like $27 for snow crab legs Overall, the place is popping, it was packed. We got there around seven and the spot literally had a wait time until about 10 and they close at 10. It's definitely cool, especially with the decorations. the spot is very nice and clean. 10/101 recommend. read more

This place is ALWAYS packed but we drive the extra few mins to go to this one over the one on K Street. The staff is always friendly and once you finally get seated, it never takes long to get your food. We have never had a bad experience here. We go often and the food is always fresh. I'm really disappointed with our experience at The Boiling Crab on 65th Street in Sacramento. We joined the waitlist before we even arrived. After receiving a text saying our table was ready, we still had to wait an additional 20 minutes to be seated. When it was finally time to be seated, one person in our party had briefly stepped out to the car to grab a diaper bag. Even though staff could clearly see that the rest of our entire party was present and waiting inside, they refused to seat us until she walked back from the car. This directly contributed to the extra wait time and felt unnecessary and unaccommodating. After we ordered, things continued to go downhill. My pregnant friend was served shrimp in her bag, even though she did not order shrimp. We immediately brought this to the staff's attention and clearly explained that she is pregnant and cannot eat shrimp. The bag was taken back to the kitchen, but instead of making a fresh one, they picked the shrimp out and sent the same bag back. This is completely unacceptable, especially considering pregnancy and food safety concerns. We complained again and had to send it back. What made this even more frustrating was the lack of attention from our waiter. He was not the one who addressed any of our concerns and only came by once to check on us. Instead, the gentleman bussing tables was the one who helped us multiple times and was far more attentive and helpful than our actual waiter. Between the excessive wait time, refusal to seat us when most of the party was present, incorrect orders, poor food safety handling, and lack of proper service, this experience was extremely disappointing. Though the communal dining experience adds to the fun, making it an ideal spot for gatherings with friends and family. The spot is nearly always busy and keeps all the servers running about frantically but they'll check in every once in a while. My family and I love The Boiling Crab on 65th Ave in South Sacramento. We come almost every month because the food is always great. The shrimp with the Whole Sha-Bang sauce never disappoints. My 6 year old son enjoys the shrimp with no spice, (garlic buttery). Their michelada is one of the best I have had, and the margarita is just perfect too. The fries might be my favorite of all time. I have been coming to this location since I was a child, and I am now 23 years old. Throughout the years, I have always had amazing experiences with both the food and the service. This restaurant has become my friends' and my go to spot, and we visit so often that we've even become good friends with one of the servers outside of the restaurant. Unfortunately, our visit on June 30th around 5/6 p.m. was very disappointing. I came with a group of three friends, and our server, John N., initially greeted us before letting us know that a server breaker would be taking care of us. Our food came out at different times, but that wasn't a big deal to us. After a while, we noticed that our server had returned from his break. He was actively talking to and tending to the other tables around us, but he never came back to check on our table. He looked over at us several times but continued walking away without checking up on us. At the time, we did not think much of it. Once we finished our meals, we needed to go bags. We waited for quite a while before finally being able to flag him down. There were three of us who needed bags, but he didn't ask how many we needed and brought two bags along with the check. Rather than trying to get his attention again, we combined our leftovers into the two bags because we assumed it would take a while for him to return. We were ready to pay immediately, but after waiting again for him to come collect the check, we decided to walk to the front to pay instead. When we got there, the staff simply stared at us while we waited to be helped. Eventually, one of the employees asked, "Have you guys paid out yet?" The interaction felt very uncomfortable, and it genuinely seemed as though they thought that we were trying to dine and dash, even though we were standing there with a card in hand. After we paid, no one thanked us or wished us a good evening, which was especially surprising because we've always experienced friendly, welcoming service during our previous visits. I have been a server myself for the past two years, so I understand firsthand how demanding and unforgiving customers can be. Because of that, I always make a conscious effort to be patient and easygoing whenever I dine out. I also understand that service can suffer when a restaurant is extremely busy. However, that didn't seem to be the case during our visit. We only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated and the restaurant did not appear to be busy. Overall, me and my friends were genuinely shocked with how we were practically ignored during our meal, and we also left feeling as though we were being judged when we went to pay at the front, when in reality we only did so because our server had been so inattentive and we had dessert reservations at another restaurant to get to. After so many years of dining here, we have never experienced anything like this. The only downside was that they didn't have live crawfish, just frozen, which was a little disappointing.
