UPDATE 4/6/2026 Prices are more transparent now than previously in the past. Menu items are more consistent now where as in the past the portion size would vary based off of your party size as I noticed before when ordering entree items. One time we had a party of two and ordered a dish and was smaller than when visiting with a party of 4. Same price you're paying you should get the same size portion regardless. Kings has made improvements over the years. The food is still great and worth going to!

Good experience for family dinner. Great customer service, will try again for another gathering.

Solid dim sum restaurant in Sacramento. We went here as a family for a Friday lunch and it was not busy, even though it was a holiday. We were sat immediately and served tea. The biggest appeal of this place is that it is a push cart style dim sum restaurant, where you order dishes from several carts. You don't really see this in a lot of places anymore. We got the typical har gow, siu mai, chicken feet, etc which were good, a bit on the smaller size but also cheaper than other dim sum places around. They carry some unique dishes like shark fin dumpling and rice noodle with fried dough with shrimp stuffed inside, which were delicious. Service in the eyes of westerners can be considered bad, but it is the authentic Cantonese bluntness. All the requests are fulfilled quickly upon request, so there's nothing wrong with service aside from mannerisms not as commonly perceived as good in the US.

We decided to try this place, we were the only ones there. It was quiet but nice a little hot inside but the staff was very friendly. We ordered the fried lobster which was delicious especially with the onions and peppers. But my favorite was the garlic green beans so good cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. We also got the salt and pepper chicken wings they were good but I would have loved a little more seasoning even a little more onions with them. The seafood fried rice was good as well the only thing I did not care for were the fried oysters, the flavor was just not there for me. We also got the fried shrimp. All the food was extremely hot and fresh which was a great plus the only thing is I wish it was brought out all together but still over all I'd recommend going if you want a quiet place with good food and great service check it out

I've been coming to King's Palace in Sacramento for over a decade, so the food being good wasn't a surprise. The interior is as massive as ever and the dim sum carts are still rolling. What made this visit stand out was the service. The aunts and uncles working today were incredibly warm and welcoming. A few of them went out of their way to compliment our young daughters and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of the entire time. That level of friendliness wasn't always the case in the past, so this felt like a really pleasant and noticeable change. The food remains consistently solid and deeply nostalgic. Every bite brings back memories of younger days, and now it's special in a different way because we get to experience it again with our daughters. It feels like passing a small piece of the past on to the next generation. During our visit we experienced great food, genuine service, and a lot of nostalgia packed into one meal.

LOVE IT!

Amazing food and amazing staff. I went here earlier this week to have some brunch with my family for the holidays. We ordered our usual dim sum order: chicken feet, tripe, har gow, sui mai, and the crispy shrimp balls. We also tried some different items we usualy don't get like the shrimp rolls with sweet dark sauce on top and the pineapple bun with the glutenous egg paste in the inside. Overall it was a good experience here today. The staff was nice and helpful. They bring carts with hot and ready dishes to you. There's also other things you can ask it they have and they would help you place an order for it.

We haven't been here in awhile, but it's my mother-in-law's favorite place. Celebrated Thanksgiving lunch with the family. Service was quick. Place was well-staffed. Very spacious. Everything tasted delicious. Here are pics of some of our families' favorites.

We were greeted upon arrival with smiley faces and great services. Food was authentic delicious chicken feet and crispy shrimp roll with chow fun noodles. The full carts are constantly go around with offering various dim sum clean indoor dining.

This place always serves the best dimsum. This is one of my favorite dimsum restaurants. There are others that are good in the area, but I feel this place offers authentic dishes and fresh HOT options. I've been to some dimsum restaurants that serve cold dimsum; or you order from a menu, which defeats the dimsum cart experience. They offer menu items as well as group pricing for their items. We ordered various dishes from the cart, and from the menu we had minced beef soup, salty fish fried rice, and crispy Df shrimp rolls . The service has improved so much over the years. The staff (although they don't speak much English) were very attentive and made sure we had hot tea and cleaned our empty trays allowing extra room on the table . I love this place and I hope you all do too!

Never failed to make our meal so good. One of our most go to place for real, authentic chinese dim sum.

Stir fried pea shoots in garlic (must try if you like greens and garlic)

TL DR: this place doesn't have the 5 star decor or the nicest bathrooms but it's one of the few places where you will find authentic Cantonese style dim sum in Sacramento. You will have rolling carts, people shouting in Cantonese, and an authentic experience. Food: My favorite thing about this restaurant is the fact that you can order traditional Cantonese style cuisines along with classic dim sum dishes. We normally order a stir fry greens (stir fry pea shoots with garlic), beef chow fun in their gravy sauce, and of course an assortment of dim sum staples. Elite tip for your first time trying dim sum: Har gap- shrimp dumpling Shu Mai - pork, shrimp, type dumpling Baos - assortment some are sweet like the pine apple bun (bolo bao) they have some with yellow custard and red bean paste. We like the ones with custard. Char siu bao - bbq pork buns come in two styles steam with a white soft bread or baked with a honey glazed style bun Dan tat- Egg tarts If you're feeling more adventurous or that you want to expand upon the basics: I. chicken feet (phoenix claws) texture isn't everyone's favorite thing as they gelatinous. You can eat the skin and tendons but spit out the bones II. Tripe (also a texture thing) a light salty ginger flavor profile with the way that it's cooked here III. Stuffed egg plants and bell peppers - assortment of meat with said vegetable IV. Deep fried taro puff with meat V. Bean curd roll There's plenty of other great items, it's really what you and your party prefer. Note dim sum isn't a non fat, keto friendly, gluten free type brunch. The meal will be greasy, salty, and what you expect from a traditional dim sum restaurant. Don't forget you have unlimited tea! Also most staff speak: Cantonese, Vietnamese, and mandarin. English may be a little limited, but the boss (who is a bad ass if you're watch the way she operates her restaurant) speaks english. I haven't seen anyone have issues ordering thing in English, you can also always point. I've been to other establishments and while their bathrooms are nicer/newer or they have more modern decor the flavor has remained the most authentic in Sacramento. You need to give this place a try if you're looking for dim sum!

By 7pm the dining room was busy, many of the parties Asian We ordered a pot of tea, crispy pork, potstickers, roast duck, honey bbq pork and the house noodle dish Yue Huang Chow Fun which had shrimp and chicken. THE PROS: Nice sit down restaurant decor. Large tables and cushy upholstered chairs. Not a strip mall cubicle. They have actually been awarded Michelin Honors three times. Portions were good sized, and flavors were nice. THE CONS: Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed by everything. All of the dishes arrived just warm. Staff never checked on us - not once - until we asked for some to-go boxes. They have two large tvs in the dining room, showing a loop of the restaurant I'm currently sitting in. The music in the dining area must have been on "Slow Girl Ballad" station on Spotify's free tier- as we honestly listed to a 10 min Samsung commercial in between songs - and not at a low volume. BOTTOM LINE: Maybe we were the exception- as there were clearly enough patrons to show it is a popular - but nothing about our experience made us want to come again. I guess we didn't see what the Michelin people saw. PRICE: $80

For starters, parking is very limited, as it is a strip mall. There is some street parking. By the time we ordered, it was getting increasingly busy. We had only 4 people in our party, so they didn't initially provide us with the menu for larger family set meals, so we had to ask for it. We went for set A which serves 4-6 people. This set included the following: Soup of the day: Simple vegetable soup with some pork/beef in it. Peking spare ribs: Deep fried spare ribs with a sweet sort of sauce. This was a bit saucier than my liking. Not my favorite dish. Empress chicken (half): This was done very well, cooked perfectly. Came with ginger scallion oil. Pan fried sole: Classic, freshly deep fried, with a soy sauce based sauce. Mixed mushroom beef: Beef was tender, dish was seasoned well. Had a good balance of protein and vegetables. Seasonal vegetables and garlic: Simple, but delicious and a generous amount of vegetables. We also ordered mushroom with salted egg yolk from the Chef's Specials menu and it was delicious! This dish was very generous in size. There were pieces of fried beech (or seafood) mushroom in salted egg yolk batter. Seemed like there was at least two grocery store containers worth of mushrooms, if you've ever seen them in the Asian grocery store. This was almost like a snack, and went so well with white rice itself. They offered a complimentary dessert but it was very plain. It was straight up herbal/grass jelly with a sweet syrup. Service was standard for an Asian restaurant. The restaurant is pretty big compared to what you might see on the outside. The restaurant was acceptably clean. We sat by the window, and although it was covered, the sun was basically still shining on us, so it was really warm sitting there. Overall, I would highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Chinese food.

They packed everything really nicely and we served it up as soon as we got home. Their rice noodle rolls are so flavorful and I love the sweet, salty and savory sauce that comes with it. The noodles are really filling, and the dishes we got would be enough food for 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. We ate the rice rolls right away and then had leftover green beans and beef and mushrooms for lunch today. The green beans were fresh and had a great garlic flavor, without it being too much. The Beef and Mushrooms was great, the beef was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms soaked up all the sauce. There were also green beans in this dish, which was a perfect addition. Adj: dependably and predictably ok Chinese food…read more We've been coming here for Chinese meals both sit down and take out from when they used to be Holiday Villa. That was decades ago. About 10 or so years ago, they changed ownership or rather they went through what seems like several changes and then they became Lucky Jade which is kind of a chain but not exactly. I recall at one time, the workers wear shirts that look kind of like uniforms with another store's name on the back with address and phone numbers, so apparently Lucky Jade is owned by people who also own a few other Chinese restaurants but not by the same exact name. In any case, Chinese food can be pretty formulaic, so it's not really that hard to have consistency as long as the cooks know how to make common standard dishes, the taste generally would not be too different. This is true for Lucky Jade. We had take out recently and got a chow fun, a chow mein, and a broccoli beef. The first was quite tasty, on the oily side but I've not found any place able to make it not too oily and still yummy so it's necessary for this dish. Then there's the chow mein, this one was not good. Kind of non descript and the oil tasted oil (reused). Not too greasy which is my biggest complaint of chow mein from elsewhere like New Lai Wah, but again, this did not taste fresh. Finally, the broccoli beef was overcooked. Broccoli was not quite mushy but almost, still a little bit of crunch but you can see they were turning yellow. And the beef was so chemically tenderized (hopefully only with baking soda and not worse) bc it was also almost mushy. Wasn't cheap either, but on par with other Chinese restaurants around here for take out. I think I'll just tell my in laws they can just order from Bel Air Hot Chinese food deli on Florin Rd which is in the same plaza and they'd pay less and the food would actually taste better with fresher oil (probably not reused) and better quality beef that doesn't need to be tenderized to a questionable quality. Overall, not too good.
