This place is okay. The meats are okay as well. We didn't come at a busy time so the service was okay. We got seated away from all the other people dining in. When we would need our server, he would never be around. When we would ask for something they would also forget frequently. I can see him just standing and talking to the other employees. For the most of the time here it was just us waiting for our server to actually help us.

I Stopped by for Korean BBQ on a Saturday afternoon. The food was great with flavorful meats, especially the honey soy beef belly, garlic and spicy samgyubsal pork belly, and yangnyeom galbi. Service was a bit slow and the fries came out late and cold, but the staff were friendly. I dined solo and really appreciated being seated in a quiet corner booth away from the larger groups. Overall, a solid experience and I'd come back for the quality of the meat.

5 order of banchan came with our food, and only after we asked for some.

I came in for the amazing unbeatable price of an all you can eat Korean bbq at lunch pricing : Under $20! You don't find that unless you are braving parking in Hawaiian Gardens. My server was nice, however seemed to forget my requests: bring more of a certain dish, side order of sesame oil. He was always polite and saying "I got you" but I wasn't unless I asked his coworker for the same thing. The small side orders of ban-chan didn't appear until we asked about them, even though they come automatically with the Korean bbq. The bulgogi portion was very small: There is no way that is feeding one person unless you ask for two orders. I had two water refills in the entire 2 hours I was there. The vibes were chill and the mood lighting was soft , but all of that was overshadowed by a German cockroach (yes) quickly scampering along the back of our booth. I pointed it out to our forgetful "I got you" waiter, who tried to kill or catch it, but it made a successful run for another day of freedom. The waiter took $5 off our bill.

I rarely leave reviews, but this visit was genuinely abysmal from start to finish. To be clear: our waitress was new, and she did her absolute best. She was kind, she tried, and none of this reflects on her. I gave her full grace -- this review is not about her. The problem was everything else. 1. Missing Menu Items They didn't have multiple meat items that were literally listed on the menu -- at a KBBQ restaurant. That alone was disappointing, but what made it worse was the attitude from the other staff member (the guy with dreads). When we asked if there were alternatives or substitutes, he didn't offer a single thing. No apology. No explanation. No effort to help. Just total indifference. 2. Burnt Grill for 25+ Minutes My grill has been completely burnt since the first round of meat -- going on almost 25 minutes -- and nobody offered a grill change. Not once. We were literally trying to cook meat on a charred, unusable grill. For a place where grilling is the entire experience, this is just unacceptable. 3. Zero Support for the New Waitress She was clearly trying, but the rest of the staff and management gave her no support. It shows. And it affects the customers directly. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. The lack of communication, lack of service, missing menu items, and the burnt grill sitting in front of us the entire time made the visit unbelievably disappointing. The only positive part of tonight was the new waitress doing her best. Everything else was terrible. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. This location seriously needs management attention and a complete reset on customer service and quality.

Celebrated Valentine's Day here and dined with family. We had a good time and enjoyed our dinner. I opted for just the beef varieties for meat this visit. We also tried some appetizers like calamari, fries & dumplings. The service was a little slow and our server didn't come and check on us as much though.

Absolutely love this place! We always find the food at a great quality and almost never leave feeling unsatisfied! We usually stick with the brisket and short ribs but we love trying them with different types of side dishes they have like the kimchi, pickled cucumbers, or radish paper. They're able to seat large parties as well along with providing high chairs for families who need them. The waiters are usually pretty quick and are on top of service and have been super nice! Definitely a place to keep coming back to!

(2/5) Very disappointed. We came from Elk Grove because this place used to have great service and food, but that's no longer the case. We were seated at 5:00 PM and weren't acknowledged for almost 20 minutes. Many menu items were unavailable and we weren't told until after being seated. Meat orders were delayed, sometimes incorrect, and we waited over 15 minutes. No drink refills and very inattentive service. This restaurant used to be worth the drive, but not anymore.

Went for lunch... ok was shocked this is all you can eat.. no side dishes.. no kimchi, no cucumber Kim chee,no bean sprouts no nothing as far a side dishes .. no lettuce. No sauces with your grilled meats.. you just get the meats and rice.. no for the meats.. the said garlic pork but nothing had any flavor.. was very disappointed. Sad to say the best this about our lunch was the chopsticks.. but we were hungry.

Julio, our server, was absolutely amazing! He always provided excellent customer service and had a great personality, we are loyal customers as a result. Please take the time to recognize him, he deserves it.

Had another wonderful and satisfying lunch today at Gen KBBQ. As always our server Jesus was spectacular, great service, friendly, attentive to our needs and brings orders of meats and orders of appetizers accurately and fast to our table. Also the kim chi fried rice on the appetizers menu was so good! Yaki Mandu for the kids always hit the spot. Jesus change our grill as soon as he saw it was starting to burn the meats, sodas were refilled constantly, the Bon Chins and sauces were rep we'd soon as they were finished. The restaurant is upbeat with lively music and always clean, clean tables, clean floors and clean bathrooms!!! Thanks Jesus for another great lunch! If you guys are planning a trip, I am confident Jesus will take care of your party and provide fast and excellent service. Love this places.

First time and last time going here. Service was bad, ambiance was great, food was good. The servers did not mention the sides or additional items not listed on the menu. They did not offer a printed menu and internet service was bad. They ran out of menus and of many sides. We mentioned it was our first time there and they did not tell us the they have sides not listed on the menu. They also did not bring them out to us so we had to ask after seeing some other tables with sides not listed. We needed to ask for sauces and they brought them out but did not tell us what they were. The presentation of the dishes looked great but did not compensate nearly enough for the lack of decent service. I'd definitely recommend trying other Korean BBQ spots considering you'll be dropping some decent money.

Well / centrally located at one of the front sections of the Arden fair mall. Impressive indoor, outdoor and menu however some disappointments: primarily the lack of side dishes. Food: All you can eat options includes regular $31 versus an additional $20 for premium Overall, a decent variety of selection (appetizers and meats) and all the selection of protein came out tasting very delicious. Apparently, you only are allowed to order 4 things at a single time. Ambience: Very large and spacious with lounge vibes Service: Service staff were very friendly, however as the first time eating there, they had failed to tell us about the sides and did not automatically offer them nor rice nor even the sauces (until we asked and requested).

Not one to leave a claim like that unvalidated, I had to give it a try. Since I came for chicken, I ordered the Fried Chicken, Petaluma half bird, infused maple, Szechuan peppercorn, orange and rosemary. While this is not traditional southern fried chicken, its a marvelous fusion of flavors on the moistest chicken breast I have had in a very long time! The flavor profile is so well executed that the various components surface to your senses on a seeming time-release so you taste them at different times during the bite, leaving you with a hint of orange lingering into the next bite. I'm impressed! The staff are some of the friendliest I have met at a restaurant and they are very proud of their menu offerings. A very nice young man, Sam, came to inquire how I was enjoying my meal, as if the growing pile of very clean bones were not enough. Despite him preparing to leave his shift, he took the time to tell me about the special spicy chicken coconut broth they only serve on Saturdays, and even made a special effort to bring me a sample! Let's just say, I will be back on a Saturday! The number of menu offerings is not extensive but, from the dishes I saw on other tables, the portions are generous and look quite appetizing. I guess I will have to come back soon and try them! Great job!

Both packed a good amount of heat at the spicy level, which we loved. The Lao sausage was also super flavorful, but as soon as you cut it, the inside does fall apart a bit. It's a personal preference to have a denser sausage. Service was also ok. The menu changes depending on what they're making, but they have certain items that are pretty consistent. One of those is poke. I LOVE their poke here, they have their own seasoned poke mix with fresh fish, veggies and sauce and it is delicious. They offer it as nachos, a bowl, or loaded fries and while I'm tempted to try some of the other options the bowl is my go-to. The poke bowl is $15 and comes with rice with furikake as well as a good portion of poke. Like I mentioned, it's preseasoned and it delicious. The ingredients are fresh and I love their flavor combination. I would love if the bowl came with a scoop of mac salad, but with the portion at this price I'm happy to add it as a side. I ordered the spring rolls ($4) and it came with five pieces of crispy and flavorful fried spring rolls. Great value for the price. I also ordered the pork laulau ($14) and Musubi ($3) for my husband and the portions on these were also great. The musubi was hot and flavorful and they gave me some FOB sauce with the musubi that went surprising well together. The laulau plate had mac salad, rice, and the wrapped pork. The pork was fattier than some of the laulau I've had in Hawaii, but was flavorful and the whole plate was a perfect portion for the price. The team working here was very friendly and helped me get in and out with my to-go order pretty quickly. The food was packed with care and made it home and was still nice and hot after the drive. They use high quality to-go containers and line them with aluminum foil which is a nice touch. They also made sure the vents were open on the spring rolls so they'd stay crispy. They have plenty of seating inside, as well as some outdoor seating. This restaurant is a bit tucked away, but has plenty of parking. I will definitely be back, and I won't wait as long between visits, because the food is so good! Check out their instagram for specials.
