I have been in Canada since 2015 and regardless of the huge number of Indian population, I struggled to find a restaurant were the Indian food is high quality, that I gave up completely on Indian food and just cooked it by myself at home. One time I was staying at an airbnb in Burlington and decided to try that place at as the food pics looked good!! I was absolutely amazed at the flavor and quality !! It's a small place but they have the obsolete best INDIAN FOOD in all of the GTA. The wall is plastered with awards they won year after year in the past 2 decades !! Their takeaway menu you see on the wall by the register, or their website, is super popular and an amazing combo meal for one person for a very reasonable price !!! Incredible service, great food, at a reasonable price. My family and I came here after a days worth of travel, tired, hungry, etc. and everything was just great. I loved the halwa dessert. Decided to check this place out. Was craving indian food esp tandoori chicken. I ordered the non veg Thai with the option of chicken curry and tandoori chicken. Came with rajma chawal (black lentils with red beans) yummy. When u taste rajma you know you are in a Punjabi restaurant. I ordered tea as well. Nan was good had lots of butter on it just as Punjabi do. Overall I had a great meal. Ambience was good too lots of Italian ppl dined here, multi cultural ambience. My coworker that recommended this place to me has officially sworn off from ever ordering take out from there. The last time she ordered from there, she had to wait over 40 min for her food when she got there and she had ordered ahead. They definitely forgot to make her order and did not apologize for their mistake. They only offered her 10% off. I would expect at least 50% off, an apology or a free meal. read more

It's just ok Indian food. It's tastes a little processed, with not a lot of love put into the cooking and the butter chicken has a BBQ taste which is not very nice. The naan bread was very good and right out of the oven though. Wouldn't return unless I heard they revamped things. read more

Chef's special biryani was a bit pricy at $16.99 for the portion you get, but the raita was nice to go with it. Chicken korma is incredibly good, with RAISINS hidden among the cashews. Nice touch. Food was decent enough but our server really pissed me off. There's a line between helpful suggestions on the menu, and shameless attempts to make a few extra bucks. When my mom and dad asked to split an entree, the waiter first said: he couldn't do that, then said: it's not how it's "designed" (whatever that means), then said: they'll be hungry, then: pretended not hear me. Background... My parents go there probably monthly, know full well what they want to eat, we were all ordering full entrees otherwise, and their friends regularly cater from these paternalistic jerks. This bullshit went on for a bit before the waiter decided to just let us order what we want... (Really?!). Respect your community, young and old, regardless of the size of their order. Let me start by saying that I have been to many many many many Indian restaurants. Is there any other cuisine as flavourful and diverse? No. The food here is incredible. I usually order papri chat, paneer makhani and naan. Each of these items are THE best I have ever had. I think they renovated to make the place look nicer within the last couple of years but to be honest, I don't really notice these things while I am completely lost in the meal I am inhaling. Let me start out by saying I was introduced to the Bombay Grill by two people who really know curry, both of whom swear that the curries are just like their mother or mother-in-law's. In a good way people. The menue includes 82 different options, not counting the express combos which make for excellent full lunches (at $6.50 for vegetarian and $7.50 for non-vegetarian). Dishes are flavourful and saucey. The nan is large and tasty. I recommend this place for take-out. I have trouble even believing that Shaun ate at the Bombay Grill. I have been going for years (ever since it was called the Bombay Chat) and have NEVER had a bad experience. It is the best Indian in Burlington. The restaurant is comfortable, the staff are friendly and take the time to get to know you, the food is amazing, what more can you ask for? They have cheap, fairly quick set lunches of mixed curries. For dinner, they have a fairly broad menu. For people like Shaun C who like their curry hot, just ask, they will make it hot, medium or mild for you. Their full menu is available for takeout and you save a bit, making it a very reasonable meal. Call ahead, they usually need about 20 to 30 minutes to prepare your order. read more

This review is for a weekday lunch: I had a non vegetarian Thali that contained a piece of tandoori chicken leg (or thigh), daal makhani, yogurt, roti, rice, papad and kheer(rice pudding) for desserts. Everything was delicious but the tandoori chicken and the daal stood out. I think it's a nice break from the ho-hum tradition of buffets served at majority of Indian restaurants. Had a great meal with friends. The food is excellent and the waiters friendly and attentive. Very reasonable prices. Only drawbacks are the very limited wine list (generic Chardonnay) that doesn't complement the food, and the fact that the booths are a bit on the small side for reasonably sized adults. If it wasn't for these points I would have given it 4 stars. It was busy on a Friday night so the noise level was pretty high. Ordinary conversation was hard. Biggest issue was the curry was so weak it might has well been Irish pub curry BLAH! and I guess waiter guy must have assumed i had never had Indian food before,, wrong. I found Nan and Roti excellent, the samosas dry, rice was not the sweet pungent basmati smell I liked, the meat dishes small, the sauces good though the Butter chicken sauces was a little too; tomato zesty and not enough; burn holes through me spicy. Aloo Gobi was cut with too large pieces of cauliflower. I was on end of 4 hour trip home from Muskoka and could have eaten a dry 2by4 I was so hungry. If I hadn't been that hungry I would have left. The first thing I'll say is that I was initially impressed with my meal when I first got it. I don't like Indian food (which isn't the reason for the low rating) but what I had gotten was pretty okay for what it was. I would've given it a solid four stars at least. The shisk kebab is what I was most excited about though and that's where the huge disappointment hit. The meat was dry and tasteless and it was made out of chicken which wasn't specified in the menu. Okay, my personal taste still. It doesn't warrent a low rating. When I went home with my meal, I discovered silver hair cooked in to my kebab. It was pretty sickening.
