Joi went straight to work on me. It was clear by her questions she took her craft and judging by her nails, I just knew her work was going to be exquisite. She took her time cleaning and trimming my cuticles. I needed to change my shape to oval and I love that she used a big/ thick Emory board to relapse instead of the machine. She worked with precision checking my fingers against each other constantly and checking in with me to ensure I was getting the look I desired. I appreciate that. After about 34 mins she was done. My nails were done and the work was of the highest quality. After I was done with my nails I waited for Sam to do my brows. She did good. Just a tiny bit too much taken off at the far ends. Overall, I'm super happy with the service. The salon was real peaceful the entire time and no issues. I parked right on the side of the shop for free and it was uneventful. For my first appointment in June 2024, I scheduled in person about a week ahead. Doris looked at my hair, quoted me a price, and I booked. At the end of that appointment, however, she suddenly charged me more, saying my hair was long and I had a lot of locs--even though she had already seen my hair when giving me the original quote. My second appointment in June 2025 went smoothly, with no pricing issues. At my third appointment in August 2025, the same situation happened again. Despite booking in person before and being quoted a price after Doris looked at my hair, I was told after the service that it would cost more. After some back and forth--where I reminded her she had just recently quoted me in person--she eventually honored the original price. While the work itself was fine, I can't overlook this pattern of quoting one price and then changing it after services are completed. That's not a trustworthy way to do business, and it will prevent me from returning.

I arrived for my 4PM appointment with all of my hang-ups and emotions about my kinky, knotty, 4C type hair. A stylist named Sharaya sat me at the shampoo sink, understood my issues and assured me that I could trust the process. I trusted. I was rewarded with a wonderful, deep cleansing wash. Sharaya used her time and patience to comb out all of my tangles and my requested Butterfly Braids, turned out really pretty. Since leaving MF I have received several compliments. Greeted everyone and informed them that I had a hair appointment and with who. Two out of the four ladies there said "hi". Eventually I sat down waited, after a few minutes I ask "is Jael here?" One of the hair dressers mumbles "yeah" (which wasn't even Jael). I then wait another 15 minutes and still no one has came to greet me or even acknowledge that I was a paying client here for a service". Eventually I asked again "I'm sorry, who is Jael?" To which she finally opens her mouth & say "me". Keep in mind she still currently doing someone's hair". I then asked "how long will I have to wait" she replied "like 30 minutes". Just so unprofessional! I would've waited if she actually greeted me and just let me know "hey can you give me some time" that would've been no problem. I have locs so my hair style wouldn't take long at all, plus I had to go to work after which is why I booked for a specific time but just leaving me there and me having to ask repeatedly "who and where are you" is just not okay!
