Endless amount of comics, old & new. I found an issue of a comic I've been collecting for many years so was very excited to add it! Plus the re-release of it! So excited to read. If I had kids this is where I would be choosing for them to get their books. Plenty of CD's, DVDs and Rock and Roll vinyls I purchased upstairs, the guy behind the counter was so nice and talking to other locals with kids digging through the 10/$1 pokemon card bins. Was so friendly with me and informative. Was happy with what I paid. Went downstairs and browsed through the toys, I wasn't to afford a toy I wanted this time around but hoping when I come back I can! I also had a feeling I would find this figurine I missed out many years ago and beat myself up for constantly. Didn't find it this time around but when I go back if it's not so busy I will ask if they've seen. Downside is I had to drive around looking for some street parking since they don't have a lot. It was a busy Saturday, but finally found one. Also the aisles are a little tight, there were some times I felt trapped or couldn't get by people. But they're doing the best they can with the layout!

The prices are almost insulting to other stores. Seriously, I've paid more for a cup of coffee than I have for some of the books here. You'd almost feel guilty... except you don't, because you're too busy carrying out a stack taller than your torso. The staff is excellent -- actually helpful, not the fake "let me know if you need anything" kind. They've tracked down what I came in looking for, and then somehow convinced me to walk out with three more titles I didn't even know existed. My shelves at home are groaning under the weight of their recommendations, but sure, suggest me another series. Why not. I've been a regular for about a year now, and as long as I live in Massachusetts, this will be one of the few places I actually look forward to throwing money at. You never know what you'll find here, which is exactly why I keep coming back.

This Newbury comics is part of a mall…read more I grew up on the original Newbury comics in Newbury st in Boston so this comic book store has a special place in my heart. However, the vibe has changed over the years and this location feels different than the one in Boston. This one feels more like a gift shop than the nostalgic collectors store that I grew up with. Anyways, got some pop figures for my nephew. They have a large collection. Staff seem friendly. Overall, I always find the stuff in Newbury to be interesting, especially gifting teenagers. After roaming around the store, I finally found the book (upstairs) and the restrooms (downstairs) - did I miss the store directory somewhere??? - and headed to the line. It was just before noon on a weekday and only one person was working at the register. I was 6th in line and 3 of the people ahead of me had complicated transactions involving B&N membership, what tote bag to pick out, etc...... FINALLY another employee came to the register (no one called for her, she just happened to be walking by) as I was the next in line, my exchange involved no paperwork and took about 15 seconds. During peak times, a second employee really needs to stay close and help out!!!
