Visiting here was the worst retail experience of my life. I placed a large order on Saturday for a pickup on Sunday. I arrived at the designated pickup time yet I had to wait outside the store for 20 minutes. After waiting in the lobby for 10 more minutes I was let in to the dispensary but informed I did not have an order in the system. There was no way for the cashiers to lookup the previous order and explained that they do not keep orders over night. There is an option on the website for next day pickup so they have a huge error in their system. All of the prices on the items changed and the cashier rudely informed me there was nothing he could do. I left with nothing and will not be returning. Terrible customer service. read more

It's in a nice area, They always had a big variety and pretty decent deals and they always have a sale going on, but I do not support the fact that they double their prices the luster pods used to be $32 and now they're 46 and I just think that it's not fair. Experience number one: I drove by and there was a line out the door. I didn't feel like waiting, so I drove on to check out other dispensaries. This isn't a knock against them. Second visit: parked at the meter next to BBR. There's construction in the area - keep an eye on the streets, I found a nice rusty nail next to my car (and took it home to dispose of it). The Botanist came recommended by a buddy of mine who felt the first one recommended to him was "too expensive/too much of a hassle." I haven't been there yet to confirm, but I came here because my buddy in Colorado recommends the Pax Pods - which evidently The Botanist is the only one in town to carry. Yeah, you look like you're sucking a usb stick, but it's small, convenient, and fast charging. I don't know (scratch that, we know) why Ohio is so weird. Colorado dispensaries are better laid out. Every one I've been to in Ohio is like a Tesla showroom - no real previews, just lots of stuff behind glass to show the packaging. I WANT TO SEE THE GOODS UP CLOSE. I digress. My first visit here was pleasant - I managed to snag the last Pax Pod in stock (sorry whoever tries to buy before they're restocked) and gummies. It was fast, efficient, and I was in and out. Friendly staff, but I haven't made a habit in "questioning" their knowledge to determine who in town really knows their green - but at some point when I've gotten a cadence down and paid more attention, we'll see who really comes out on top. read more

My girlfriend and I were stopping in on our way home from an extended camping trip, with all of our gear loaded on a motorcycle. We stopped only to find their parking lot was very poorly surfaced. Only one spot was paved in a space large enough to park my motorcycle. Upon arrival, but before dismounting the motorcycle, a security guard informed me that this spot was for online orders only and I would have to park elsewhere. I informed them that I was a customer and there was no other spot safe to park my bike. The security informed me that wasn't his problem and proceeded using profane and vulgar language (asked what my f#%&ing problem was) prior to me raising my voice or using any colorful choice of words. The fact that he never asked if I had an online order confirmed that this security person simply had a visceral and biased reaction to people on motorcycles. Making me move the motorcycle in a way that I communicated was unsafe ended up resulting in the bike tipping over, sustaining damage and my passenger falling from the bike onto their gravel parking lot. Shame on them for not even bothering to check and see if we were ok. I'm still frustrated about this interaction...enough so to post this review a month an a half later. Haven't been back to another Botanist location since. Plan to keep it that way. The culture this demonstrates showed me that it is not an organization I wish to conduct business with. To the staff at this location, do better as human beings. That was a truly awful experience, and I didn't even make it to the front door. read more

Honestly just had the worst experience of any business, let alone a dispensary. The Botanist in Short North over charged me. I placed an online order that totaled $190. They charged me $213. I questioned it at first but was told I was wrong. After paying (my mistake) I was able to see that there were two different totals on two different receipts. After showing them, they made me wait over 30 minutes to speak with 2 different managers that argued that they wouldn't give me my $23 back.... Like seriously, they even acknowledged that they over charged me, and then were NOT willing to give me the money back lol. After making a huge stink about it they offered A PARTIAL of $20.... I just laughed and said I only want to pay the original price. Another 10m of listening to a rude, gas-lighting manager they finally gave me what was legally required of them. Never going back here again, and I highly suggest others avoid it as well. read more

The good: Overall the folks who run this place seem well trained and professional. During my initial visit I had mostly chosen what I wanted ahead of time. I had a short opportunity to get in while in the area before I had another obligation. I called twice when they first opened that day ( a Thursday in August) to ask " how things worked" and a slew of other stuff just to be sure I had everything I needed the first time. It was my initial visit my card and I got two different people each time I called who were both very friendly. I was nervous because some of the reviews state otherwise but I imagine if you plan a trip when they aren't so busy, (weekdays) and make phone calls during slow times as well, you will naturally get a less stressed employee. (Some Bad) Upon arriving parking was a bitch. I definitely did not compute the parking directions during the phone conversation, (ADD, visual learner....) the lot is diagonal and across the street from the entrance (also inconspicuous). I was not expecting a random pay booth sharing this lot and certainly not the type w/ no attendant. Random cars we parked from all over the place. It took me an extra ten to fifteen minutes to figure out parking. (Asking strangers, the bouncer at the door, etc.) There are only a few free spots reserved for Botinist. (I have no idea how people get in the actual door on weekends) They are located after you turn right and go all the way to the last row in the corner closest to the Botinidt building itself (across the street). From what I remember. I guess if the free ones are parked in you pay?? But it's not cheap. I would not leave valuables in your vehicle. Area is a bit odd. More good: The women up front took note I only had an hour or so (on a weekday, around 2:45, don't try this on a weekend) and swiftly typed in all of my info, so I could be taken to the next waiting area. ( while entering my card information a second customer even came in and clearly had time to burn and was in a chatty mood ( both w/ the assistant typing in my information and myself trying to fill out my forms). The employee did a great job maintaining a friendly and professional attitude towards both of us (in contrast to my complete inner struggle screaming at this lady in my head to park her ass in a seat, wait her turn, and calm down). Anyway it all worked out, they lead you in the cannabis den in the order you arrived. The Meh: I had an attendant that I asked for a recommendation from. I knew one thing I wanted but was curious if there was anything to help with my ADD, something to aid in focus. He recommended a Sativia dominant strain. (Which I also dig in addition to some Indica) Unfortunately it DEFINITELY wasn't a good match for my kind of therapeutic needs. Total paranoia. I felt more information could have been exchanged on both of our parts resulting in a better match, but I also felt rushed because a line had started to form and I had taken plenty of his time. He had no idea I'm also taking medication that boosts my energy level and occasionally sometimes produces anxiety for my ADD, and I suspect the combination was the culprit. Tip: pick out what you want ahead of time online, arrive, then sit in your car and wait for your delivery, seems much more convenient. Plus there's a special parking section NEXT to the building for these smarties who have their shit together. read more

Always has the best deals!! Them and bloom and verdant usually have a 30% off, any day of the week! Highly recommend selecting category in their drop down menu and hitting specialty pods (I like magnetic attachment it's quicker.) and scroll down till you find the first vape pod that's a .84 g and grab that cause it's the cheapest one you can get that day and usually is on sale. But no worries; the Botanist is fully staffed, friendly and knowledgeable. They have a really cool and cute patient and caregiver educational booklet that covers FAQs. The intake process was quick and easy with my digital card. The juicy: their selection is amazing, the pricing is fair for the state economics and politics around MMJ. Parking is solid, it's nice there's a dedicated lot. They are cash only but have an ATM on site. Building feels and is pretty secure. Used to be super happy with them until today. My boyfriend was sold a tincture that was unopened and SEALED but leaking everywhere. They claim it's against the law to replace it and offer no recourse what so ever. Basically they can sell you completely defective product and you have no way to get your money back or even receive store credit. Additionally, the employees tried to blame him by first saying he opened it (it was clearly sealed) and when he pointed that out, they tried to claim he must have "knocked it over". They had zero compassion and showed zero understanding. Just a "yeah that sucks man sorry." Horrendous way to handle this situation. How about you just take responsibility for your defective product and be a decent human being? I've spent over $2000 with this place in 3 months. But never again. I never write bad complaints, but after the experience I had today. I had to say something. The female who "helped" me today greeted me with the coldest look I've ever seen. Never smiling a single time and rolling her eyes multiple times. When I was at the counter I asked her nicely to compare two different strains side by side. she absolutely refused. Not only refusing, but stating "I had already looked at 3 samples and I was not allowed to look at another sample!!!" I've never been treated worse and with such disrespect.
