Every post office in hampton roads sucks. This place is close to my house and can do everything without dealing with lines and people. They folks will give your the honest best deal for your mail (and I ship using eBay a lot!) so it's great to have a hometown feel. Having a couple adorable rescue dogs never hurt, either. Bottom line: You are going to get friendly, fast service without having to mess with traffic and a horrible wait. read more

I see that other customers left bad reviews due to policies that are clearly posted (no cell phone use, no packing inside the store) and I find that childish. The people who work here and run the business are racist. They up-charge African Americans behind their backs hoping they don't notice. I've seen them do it several times. They make fun of the ladies who go to the beauty shop next door. It's one of their favorite ways to make the day go by at work. An elderly African American lady walked in the door and noticed they had two large dogs behind the counter. This made her nervous as she was scared of dogs. She asked them to put the dogs away in the back so she could come mail a package. The staff was rude and refused to do so. They made fun of her for being scared of the dogs and told her they didn't want her business here anyway. I can't believe I stood by and watched it happen and didn't do something about it. She ended up leaving and they continued to make fun of her after she left. Had any Caucasian person come in who was afraid of dogs, they would have temporarily put the dogs away to help them out. These people should be reported. They are ripping off customers right and left. I bet two identical packages will get two different shipping costs on the same day depending on who is holding which one. Do not do business here no matter who you are. This crap should not be tolerated. Ever. This is not how you treat your neighbor. read more

I went to use today for an emergency ASAP service as my son was in Petersburg, at the MEPS station awaiting his enlistment. He contacted me with a necessity and I had to fax paperwork. While I was in The Box Outlet, I received more phone calls that were unavoidable saying Army needed papers right NOW. I was trying to get things together talk to personnel and my son while figuring out what to fax when the owner told me to take my call and paperwork outside as this is His place of business. Sorry..that I was in the process of helping a young man to enlist to ensure the safety AND freedom of his business, not to mention the temperature outside. My son was in a predicament out of his control and I, 2 hours away, was put in a position to try to understand and help..Thanks for the rudeness of our local business of The Box Outlet Owner, I'll make sure EVERYONE I know and deal with hears this story.
