Twice-baked almond croissant, slice off coffee cake, and pretzels - everything and a cheddar jalapeño. Delicious.

Wasn't aware of The Bread Chic until they opened this second location at Lemay/Drake. Nice selection of loaves of bread, breakfast pastries and pretzels. Everything was delicious, love supporting a local, small business.

    Pies and pretzels

The Drake/Lemay location is our go-to spot for sourdough bread (plain, rosemary, garlic and other tasty options.) They will slice it for you on the spot. There are also delicious pastries, pies and baked goods including massive cinnamon rolls and pretzels. Always busy and some things may sell out depending on the day.

    Seeded Challah looks so delicious!!

Their cookies are large, chewy and clearly made with love. They have deals on half and full dozens, and you can watch the cheerful bakers actually making the goods on premises. My favorite is the snicker doodle sandwich, but you can't go wrong with anything here and the overall quality is SO much better than the chain store competitors.

I love that it's in the middle of old town and that it's a stand alone. If you're indecisive, they'll let you try the flavors and they will even mix and match flavors on any size. I don't live in Fort Collins anymore, but I do think about this place often and make sure I stop by anytime I'm in town, regardless of the weather outside!

It's shaped like a giant ice cream churn, which makes it such a fun and unique place to stop. The whole area was really neat -- there are several other restaurants and small businesses around it, and it looks like they host live bands there during the summer. I definitely want to come back and explore more of the surrounding spots next time. For ice cream, I ordered the Fort Collins Chocolate (I think that was the name), and it had brownie pieces mixed in. It was absolutely delicious! All of their ice cream is made in-house at their main store and then brought over to this adorable churn-shaped shop, which makes it feel even more special. Every flavor we tried was great. I would definitely go back again -- such a cute atmosphere and amazing ice cream!
