My wife and I randomly found this place after eating at a restaurant next door. This place was great. It seems like a local's bar, because everyone that walked in knew each other and the bartender. Plenty of tvs to watch a game, and pool tables to pass the time. Best part is that the draft beer is cheap! We ended up sitting long enough to have 4 beers each and the bill was under $20! We saw plenty of baskets of their wings get served also. If we hadn't been full we definitely would have tried them. Highly recommend this small dive. read more

Went in the other night and (one of) the bartenders (the oversized bald one who you can find crying on the curb) threw a bottle of water at my car then ran up to my car and started screaming at me (because I laughed). Told the other bartender and he said he couldn't (wouldn't) do anything because "he works here". The second bartender seemed exasperated so I'm assuming this is something that happens frequently. Good bar food and decent prices. The service was good too. It's a little dark and noisy for my presences, but I still enjoyed myself. I ordered the potstickers, eggrolls and chicken tenders with fries. The potstickers were really good. They were more crispy than other ones I've had at other places. The dipping sauce was great too. I'm not typically a fan of potstickers because they usually have a rubbery texture, in my opinion, but these were really very good! The eggrolls were sliced long ways so they looked strange at first, but turned out to be very good. The chicken tenders were tasty too. They are lightly battered and flavorful. The fries were okay. It's the perfect food after some drinks. The portions were big. I think I was optimistic I could eat it all, but I ended up leaving a lot untouched. The bar itself is shotgun style; one long room. They have pool tables, video games (hence the noise behind me) and TVs for viewing sports. There is a small fenced in patio for smokers. The crowd is mainly locals, as far as I could tell. Cool dive bar, and it's associated with another dive bar The Islander right near by. Ironically, the bar tender had relatives in Racine, WI which is where we're from. Had fun playing a few games of pool. Would go back to both bars next time in the area as it's our kinda thing. read more

Great bar! Great food that really comes from the Reef which is excellent! Beer prices fantastic especially if u purchase cup for $5 then refills $1.50. Cassie is the best! Polite-truly loves her job and people. Tiffany also great and attentive. Loves her job! Chelsea is terrible! Potty mouth and totally different crowd when she works which is usually weekends. Rough. I've never heard a female talk as vulgar as her in a business including a local bar! Management should control/monitor her actions better. If u are not "her crowd"- you don't get served well! Pretty cool dive bar right down the street from that main action of the strip. Prices are very cheap compared to other bars in the area. The live band that was there Sunday night was very good and we found out the lead guitarist comes to New Orleans quite often so we shall be checking him out. The bar has 2 sides to choose from and at least 3 TVs on each side. They do allow smoking in the building which is cool because I enjoy cigars to go with my whiskey. The bartender, who me met at another business on the strip while eating lunch invited us to come check her out and I'm glad we did. Had a blast and will for sure be back to support this dive bar! read more

I wish we had stumbled into the Break before Sunday because this is a legit dive sports bar full of locals. We were looking for the Titans game and heard this place was a sports bar so we walked over. When we walked in it was like a record skipped as everyone turned and looked at us. (Kids, a record is a thing that played music on what was called a record player. This happened back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Sometimes the record had a scratch and the needle on the record player would skip back and forth over the same part of the song.) HOWEVER, everyone went back to watching the games and we got some beverages and watched some football. It was divey, there were pool tables, two separate bars, and even a small bar with a TV outside. Smoky, divey, locals that all knew each other, a bartender that gave me water with a sympathetic look since she could see my hungover state, and the sound on the game. Next time I shall come on a weekend night and see bands and what other crazy fun this place has to offer. For now it is definitely A-OK in my book! read more

Do not put music on the juke box here. The jukebox was on and they turned it off because I played rock and roll I lost 5 dollars because they turned it off. Impossibly cheap surfer dive bar. Definitely a "locals only" vibe. They usually have a decent band in the side room on weekends. My only bad experience was when some tiny young woman tried to pick a fist fight with me for some unknown reason (I'm a REALLY big guy). Maybe she thought i was someone else. Very cool bar paired with a great staff. I hit this spot many times during my stay in Pensacola Beach, not only to catch the live music (and I must say I am IMPRESSED by the acoustics both off the DJ system and live) but also to hang with the locals, catch some soccer, and more importantly the rest of the NBA Finals :). The team here is quick, attends to all patrons, and leaves no one hanging. The prices are great as well as the specials. If you have no idea what to have, give them a description of a beverage you are in the mood for and they will whip something up. My girlfriend is not partial to shots, but when I described what we were looking for in form of a shot, we got the "Gummy Bear" (thanks David). That was a nice touch. Beers are cold, you have a wide selection of top shelf alcohols, frozen drinks spinning, and aside from "Wing Nights" you can indugle on a menu supplied by the spot next door (it's a door at the end of the bar to an ordering station). We took part in the brisket nachos and the fish of the day sandwich, Both were delicious and the bread on the sandwich was super soft. Kick back as there's always good music playing when there isn't a live band, watch a number of TV's, and have a drink. There's a pool table and arcade games you can also mess around with. Look around and take in some of the decor on the walls and don't forget to check the chalkboard on the running tally of Yager to Rumple to Fireball shots to date. It's actually some pretty interesting stats, lol. The locals were very cool and overall everyone was very friendly. If there's one drink you need to try (actually a shot) it's the "Grape" one. It's awesome. The break is the best local, dive bar in town! The bartenders are the best...especially Chelsea, Josh, and Taylor! They are so fun, welcoming, and make every time we come out a blast. Make sure to hit The Break on a Thursday for the BEST and cheapest chicken wings, and the amazing staff I mentioned, along with co-owner Matt(always fun to hangout with!)...but get there early because it gets busy, and they run out! Local beach bar with different crowds through the night it gets younger as the night gets later--a true everyone knows your name during happy hour--super friendly crowd. On Monday and Thursday nights (at least during football season) they have a stadium menu which includes the best chicken wings on the beach if not anywhere (and at 35 cents each!). read more
