However, you don't always want to feel like you're trying too hard to change your scenery, bumping you too far out of your comfort zone. The answer my friends, is the good old classic American dive bar. Now, many places like to call themselves a dive bar just because they never clean a single inch of their establishment and have seedy patrons that love to play the more than occasional 80's songs on the jukebox but don't be mistaken, a good dive bar is hard to find. Well, I happen to have found one and it's in Fullerton of all places. That's right, Fullerton, not Los Angeles, nor Hollywood nor some pop-culturally over-hyped city. What makes The Blue Door a good dive bar? First, there's earned consistency & routine. The drinks won't always be made well, or the bartender won't always be attentive but if you come a few times, you'll soon know at what time and day the drinks are made properly by knowing the schedules of the bartenders. Secondly, the drinks are stiff, the service is friendly and nobody bothers you unless you bother them. The atmosphere goes from lively and loud to quiet and solitary, again depending upon when you visit. Lastly, they're open from 6:00AM-2:00AM. They're not just there when the hipsters are around, they're there for you whenever you make the bad decision of using alcohol as an anesthetic. The first time, I came for the Monday night burger and beer special for $10.95 after 4pm. The burger was very good with a nice sized patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a wheat bun. The beer pour isn't just a glass, it's larger-sized schooner. Specialty beers on tap are an extra $2. The burger doesn't come with a side, but a tasty burger and a large beer for under $11 is a great deal. The following week, I came back for the Tuesday night BBQ special. Their BBQ chicken and ribs dinners are 30% off, and come with two sides and a fresh dinner roll. I got the full slab of ribs which was only $21 after discount. They definitely do not skimp on the ribs, as the plate came with two large half slabs stacked on top of each other. The ribs were cooked well, and the BBQ sauce had a good mix of tang and sweetness. I had coleslaw and fries for my sides. The other options for sides are Beckett's beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, and pasta salad. A half slab and the fries filled me up, and I took the other half and the coleslaw home. This is also a great deal for only $21. Other special days include Wednesday $3.50 schooner night from 5pm to 7pm, Friday night $10.95 fish taco plate, and Saturday and Sunday breakfast specials from 10am to noon. They have a pool table, darts, and many TVs with various sports playing. Service was timely and friendly.

I like this little spot. I came across the BreakRoom 2 years ago and glad that I did. You really can just go there and be comfortable. The Bartenders are always cool as long as you remember that it's up to you to if you wanna Play or Go Home . Lots of customers have the days they go according to when their favorite Bartenders are working. I go to play pool on Mondays because it's free lol. Some may say it's a dive Bar and someight say it's a wonderful place to get some food and drinks while watching sporting events on 8 or so tvs around the Bar. If you have a bad time because you feel the girls weren't giving you the attention you wanted well maybe you should rethink your approach or be creepy it's scary spooky hilarious when guys get mad about that. Make it rain and wash your sadness away lol. Thursdays are also good days . Melissa #1 :0) is there and always keeping it solid so I am always glad to stop in and say Hello to her. So stop in grab some food and a few drinks don't be scared to spend a few dollars and enjoy yourself . With live dj and a mixture of men and women having a Great time. read more

I recently visited Breakroom in Fullerton and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it to anyone. The services I received there were subpar at best, unless of course you're willing to spend a significant amount of money or happen to be friends with the workers. It was abundantly clear that there was preferential treatment given to certain patrons, which made my experience even more disappointing. To make matters worse, it seems that all of the bartenders and managers were more concerned with drinking and getting intoxicated themselves than providing quality service to their customers. I found this extremely unprofessional and concerning - it's not appropriate for the employees of a business to be indulging in these activities while on the job. Overall, my experience at Breakroom in Fullerton was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone, and I sincerely hope that they make some significant changes to improve their customer service and professionalism moving forward. read more

The staff is very hot! Love girls very sweet and damn hot! I gave it one star because I really don't get why they let a bike club take over makes other customers that are not in the club uncomfortable I know I did. I don't know if they know in some people's eyes that looks bad, I don't want to be mad dogged because some tough guy thinks he's cool that he has all his club there, why make your other customers feel that way? I guess they make so much money from this bike club or gang that they can afford to make other people that go in there uncomfortable, I'm shocked no shooting or fights yet read more

not only were my group harassed by customer but he also fallowed us outside yelling racial slurs also telling us to go back to pico Rivera and that he was gonna call ice on us this man would not leave us along he was wearing a lakers jersey after he kept saying racial slurs he went back into this establishment like nothing happend an another customer that was there as well threaten to call the cops on us when we were the ones being harassed . The fact that you this is the kind of people you let in your establishment is crazy and highly disturbing . read more

Very interesting, hipster vibe at this bar. The live music and burlesque show was great and made the bar more unique. Went for a birthday party that reserved the upper floor and that was a great semi-private area for the event. The drinks however were very overpriced and small. He's married and he was hitting on me "buying my friend and I drinks" we didn't drink those "free drinks" he would drink them after he saw we weren't taking them and WE ENDED PAYING FOR THOSE DRINKS THAT HE DRANK.
