Welp. Was forced to come to this dump again to pregame. Heard music so decided to try it again after being here like a while back and it sucked back then too. Guess what, it still smells like trash and cigarettes, was here for 20 mins and walked out smelling like a cigarette AGAIN. Does the owner think this is attractive to us? Maybe he or she has old friends that have to smoke but I'll you that no one wants to smell like cigaerrets when they leave. This place also hit a new low. They had granny strippers here acting like it's cool to be old sex workers. Disgusting. Bartender here is still rude and standoffish. Chunky guy with glasses and older, like hey man u don't like ur job just go somewhere u like to work! What a joke and what a desperate bunch of losers here. They need to sell this place so someone can do better with this place. Avoid this place. Djs suck here. Bands are aweful. Speakers are crackling and louud. Back Alley sits in the heart of DTF and has everything you would want in a local dive bar . The bartenders are attentive , outgoing, and will make you feel welcome. (Special SO to Drew and Ramona who really go the extra mile to get to know their patrons !). The food there is also delicious! I highly recommend the dry rub wings, Irish tacos , and the steak wrap . They also have great live bands that play a few days out of the week that really brings in a fun and lively crowd . I will say my only critique is that it does get quite warm in there . It would make a tremendous difference if they would find a way to cool down the place . Other than that , if you're looking for a casual spot that won't be break the bank with great service and tasty food , this place is definitely worth checking out ! read more

The Back Alley is a well loved staple in downtown Fullerton! It's been here almost as long as me and used to be owned by a close family friend. I come frequently because they allow dogs on the patio and they always spoil my Maverick. We especially love when Ashley is working. You cannot beat their taco Tuesday! 2 dollar delicious tacos! This bar was alright, considering this is a 3.5 star review. I was here with my friend attending a singles social gathering hosted by meetup. I had a Stella Artois and their loaded fries. The service, on the other hand, was adequate to make the experience good. The bouncers were pleasant, which definitely counted for something. The ambiance was interesting, as that singles gathering had more men rather than women. Will I come back? I am on the fence. I came here for some drinks with a group of friends early on a Saturday. Our bartender was Bri and she not only served us in the well in the back but also when we sat up front. Awesome customer service. They have a lot of beers here and the drinks are made good. We had some shooters made by Bri that really set our night off. The carne asada nachos were also a good suprise. Hanging out here was cool. There was plenty of room at the bar. The day we went they even had a band playing some classics. First time checking out this location and the food was amazing especially the wings. They were nice and crunchy with great flavor. I also tried the Carnitas nachos. Great spot to see local bands unfortunately it is a bar so you have to deal with all the knuckleheads getting drunk causing problems but don't let that scare you you should check this spot out if your in the downtown Fullerton area. read more

Back alley has potential but so far has been a disappointment. The $10 cover charge even when it's early and on slow nights is not cool. As well as the security or bouncer or who ever that dude is, that sits in the front collecting, he needs to be replaced or something because he has no tact, or personality to be the face of the bar. Hes very rude, sarcastic and snappy. I haven't been back for a while because of it and I actually used to go all the time. The Photo Booth inside is a nice touch to take drunken memory pics. The bartenders are nice, and pretty quick at serving you your drink. Restrooms are clean enough. But if you're trying to have a dance party this is probably not the place to go because the dance floor is almost always empty and I have a big reason to believe it has a lot to do with that guy and his cover charge . But if you're just trying to sip and drink and listen to some decent music, then this just might be the place for you! read more

Got carnitas fries to go. Waited about 15 minutes for it, pretty sad it was kinda soggy and the fries were kinda soaked in oil. The flavor was good. Wish it was crispy /fresh fries, maybe it would've been even better. I suspect they may have let it sit before handing it to me since it seemed too soggy. Carnitas were tender though and not salty. What can I say about the Back Alley? It's our "go too" for Friday nights. Drew, Ramona and Jake in the kitchen. The drinks are great and the price is right AND the food is REALLY good. I mean, it's a hamburger right? No Jakes are one of the best I've ever had. And pretty much everything on the menu is terrific. There's a large patio for the smokers and those who want to sit outside and live music on Saturday nights (and maybe more but I'm not sure.) Yeah, it's become our favorite place in DT Fullerton. Who knew Back Alley was a magical gem of fantastic food? I've had many wild nights here in my 20s. Now in my late 30s, I've been to their comedy night, and also had day drinks many times with my husband. I had no idea they had phenomenal food. I was blown away with the amazing food. My husband and I shared the french dip. It was delicious. To me its more of a French Dip/ Philly Cheese steak hybrid. Either way, we loved it. We subbed the fries for garlic cheese curds. So addicting!! We also split an order of dry rub wings. They were amazing! Dry rub wings are our fave, and these were top notch. I enjoyed the blue cheese dressing. We had a few happy hour drinks, and it was a fabulous Thursday dinner. The owner was working the bar and he was very personable and welcoming. Great vibes BUT their Karaoke guy can be rude if you ask to sing to a Mexican song. His response on a night of lively karaoke to my Hispanic girlfriend wanting to sing a banda song, "If I have it, then I have it. If not, I don't. I don't do mexican" I did share this with the staff. When you first approach this place it looks like your typical biker dive bar, but don't be fooled this place is pretty awesome. I will say the staff seems a little ruff around the edges but they are good guys. If you are looking for spot on Long Island Ice Tea's this is the place. Good music, outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating. The bathrooms are a little gross but hey you can hold it LOL. We had the pretzel bites that came with cheese sauce and stone ground mustard, cheese quesadilla which were the perfect bar food. They do have live music but check before you go. read more

Terrible customer service from this elderly male bartender. If I ran this establishment I would seriously rethink the choices of employing him. Not the best look for this very lively environment.
