The Breakaway BnG is a great little watering hole close to the Goodyear Ballpark. Walking in on a Thursday afternoon, we were 3 of about 9 people at 4:00. The dining room is very spacious with many TVs and a pool table in the corner. While the food was "fine," the Happy Hour was actually solid if only typical. Your draft beers were $3, and we ordered a mixture of rum and cokes and an espresso martini. We also ordered some Happy Hour waffle fries and cauliflower "wings," which were over-fried, but the 14" honey hot pepperoni pizza was solid and made up for the appetizers. At the end of the day, the breakaway was a nice change from our typical rotation of places we visit. Did it break into the regular rotation? Probably not, but not because it wasn't a great experience with friends. read more

The only good thing about this place is the karaoke. I would rather find a new place and drive 30 minutes than return here after multiple bad experiences. I love supporting local businesses but I dont think this place will stay open long if they don't make changes. The first time the server was nowhere to be found for almost 30 minutes. After we finally ordered we barely saw them the rest of the night. The second time, the hostess was very rude and didn't say one word during our entire interaction which was weird and off-putting. She brought us waters and slammed them on the table and stormed off. The other servers were dressed very unprofessionally. One was wearing huge baggy pants and had dirty unwashed hair. Our server was not very attentive. We ordered one of the only beers they had and were told it wasnt cold. We ordered ranch and they brought us out what was essentially a container of mayonnaise. I mentioned it to the server and she said she didn't like it either and that its always different. It's not that difficult to make ranch or notice how bad it is and fix it. Went on Monday evening to with some buddies. Nice vibe with lots of TVs. Food & service were great. Of course they're we're only us and another couple. Only issue was loud TV sound. There was no active game on and they had a NASCAR interview show going. Hard to carry on a conversation. read more

The hostess could use a little training and the food needs some attention to detail but it promising. This place has changed ownership and concepts a few times in the last two years. The Breakaway, seems like it could be a great place but it needs a little help. We walked in and asked the hostess if we could sit anywhere, no words, she just kind of grunted at us. Brought menus, we said thank you, she just walked away. The servers care just enough, but need some training. The food is okay but I wouldn't go there to have dinner, nothing stands out, its standard bar food, the ranch was mayo with some seasoning in it. Even the server cautioned us when she brought it. With some leadership, training and a few recipe changes. It could be a great place. read more

Absolutely great vibes, ambiance, and staff. We had 40 people in our party and they accommodated us all. We all got something different and not one complaint. I also got a White Russian as a cocktail and it was just right. Parking could be a problem after 3p because there are other businesses there. Food 10/10, service 10/10 and there's something for everyone. You can sit at the bar or at one of the tables and booth. read more

The bar itself has a nice layout, super clean, lots of TVs and seating and a great music playlist. The staff are super friendly and professional, and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. We got mild wings as an appetizer and I enjoyed a burger and fries. Everything was cooked to perfection, hot and fresh. I totally be back to this bar, I look forward to football season starting soon. read more

My wife and I were looking for a spot to have some lunch and a couple drinks. We wanted to sit outside so we saw The Breakaway on Yelp. The gps took us into an apartment complex parking lot, we both looked at each other and luckily kept driving the lot. We saw the Breakaway right after the apartments. First impression of the restaurant was this place is really nice. We didn't know it was brand new yet. The hostess was super friendly when we walked in and asked us where we wanted to sit. We decided on the beautiful bar. The manager/ bartender( I think she was a manager) greeted us immediately. I didn't get her name, blonde with tattoos, just moved from California. She made my wife a delicious margarita and I had a cold beer. The beer was served in a metal cup that turned color when the beer was cold, pretty cool cup. We decided to start with chips and queso and it was AMAZING!!!!!! We would come back just to munch on that. For our lunch, my wife ordered a taco salad and I ordered the Big Dill Chicken Sandwich. My wife really enjoyed the taco salad, the only feedback was it didn't have the tortilla strips in there. But she would order it again. My chicken sandwich was AMAZING! The fries were good as well. All in all the whole visit was an A+. Service A+, food A+, atmosphere A+. We will be back for sure. Probably going to be frequent visitors since we live close. We'd been to this location years ago when it was another restaurant and the upgrade alone in here is awesome. Definitely liked the vibe. Great bar area, nice pool table with good mix of booth and high top seating options. This parking lot is bit of a cluster and with the nearby apartments and such can be hard to find parking, but this time was no issue. When we walked in there were a few other patrons eating, but the hostess station was empty and there was a sign telling us to wait to be seated. It took quite a few moments before we saw an employee. I think when slower like this maybe seating yourself with menus at the table might help to detour impatient people and allow some time to look over the menu in my opinion of course. Once seated our server took our drink order while we tried to decide what to eat. We'd originally been looking for somewhere with a club sandwich etc, but we realized quickly the menu here is quite different from your typical bar/grill. There was a menu for happy hour offering more norms such as nachos, pretzels etc but strictly between 3-6. They definitely have their own spin on everything here. I'm more open to try new things than my husband, but he said he was willing to try. We agreed on the fried chicken sliders with waffle fries. I wanted to try a burger but wasn't hungry enough. While the burger with Alfredo sauce sounded interested I was a bit nervous to try it. Again, however I find that things that sound weird can be delicious. We'll definitely have to come back to try some other things and update our review then. Our food came out quick, looked great and she brought us extra plates. Service slowed down from there but she still did check on us. I love, love , love local spots and I hope Breakaway does well. Our sliders were actually delicious. The sauce on them was good and not too much. I liked the added pickle slice on top. Waffle fries were crisp. We left full, but not overly and we split 1 and 1/2 sliders each. Good stop for drinks etc. with a chill vibe. My only other possible recommendation is maybe add a few more basics for that picky kid/family member so we people can come together and enjoy a meal here. read more

We visited a second time and everything was great. The service and drinks were awesome, provided by Reese and Kaden. We ordered a Frankie's Hot Pizza and two shots of Pantalones Anejo tequila. Both were fantastic. This is becoming our favorite sports bar. read more

My wife and I decided to grab lunch there today, first time visit. The bartender was holding down the fort, serving both bar patrons as well those eating in the restaurant. She did a great job - had a large party (~20) ordering food and drinks but managed to keep up with everything pretty well. Our food was just a little slow coming out but not bad considering the large party had immediately ordered right before us. Food was top-notch - wings we very well prepared and the buffalo sauce was delicious, brisket sandwich was wonderful. We will be back for sure. read more

Enjoyed this spot with my hubby for a playoff basketball game Sunday on a rare break from our kiddos. We noticed that the owner/name changed just recently and decided to give it a try. Our waitress/bartender was attentive and friendly, I enjoyed her service. The food was great, prices reflect that but not the worst I've seen. The loaded fries were amazing and the drinks were solid! I like that this place is nearby so that we can enjoy some quality time, have a few drinks, and avoid traveling across town to do it. The place is nice. Very open and a lot of seating. Nice little patio and a pool table. Had the jalapeño poppers.. they were average. Nothing special. Met some friends and we planned on having lunch. But $25 for a burger?? Come on! $18 for a chicken sandwich? This is Goodyear folks. This bar sits in an apartment parking lot! This isn't some high scale area. The last place bombed because of pricing and I'm afraid this one might too if they don't adjust their prices. Maybe run specials? The sports bar down the street runs daily specials.. BOGO Burgers, Pizza and Wing deals, taco Tuesday. Never a $25 burger! read more
