Had a great lunch here before going to a spring training game at the end of March. This is a great & large sports bar with tv's all around showing different games and not just preseason baseball. About 25 of us were here all at the same long table, which one would have thought it would be challenging for the server but Brittany just kicked butt and even though she had other tables she always came around making sure everything was good, refilling drinks and taking dessert orders from those who wanted them. Pricing of foods were good and I got chicken tacos that were really good and a root beer for under $19. One interesting thing is they tack on a "credit card fee," don't recall the last time I've seen that, and it was $0.86 based on my bill. If our group goes to preseason games in AZ I'm sure we'll come by here for food. read more

We were long time patrons of Augie's. We had a standing trivia team who enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The food was great for bar food, and the service was amazing. We were regulars and loved the place. We hadn't been in for awhile - life changes happen - we went in and ordered our normal fare. My daughter's buffalo chicken wing sliders were not cooked. She bit into the sandwich and it was raw. My fried pickles were charcoal. The chicken sliders were remade - and the most insulting part - we didn't ask for them to be remade. I was ready to throw in the towel. I was charged in full for the meal - no discount for the fact that the food was not cooked - and I was nickel and dimed for the dipping sauces. The waitress had the audacity to return the ranch dipping sauce that was contaminated by the raw chicken. I will flat out never return which is so sad to me as a long time regular. I don't know what's happened but the service and food just disappointed. read more

Stumbled on Augie's Sports Grill this weekend when out looking to enjoy a a few drinks and catch the games. We definitely found the right spot here. There was a lively crowd with many locals. We came in to a pretty packed house, but they were able to maneuver a few barstools so we could sit together at the bar. We ordered the egg rolls and some beer on tap. They even had a tasty cider, impressive. The southwest egg rolls were phenomenal. Who's of guessed they'd be so good and a sports bar? Service was great and the bartender was all smiles. This place used to be such a comfortable regular spot, one I'd frequent at least once or twice a week for the past few years. The former employees were nice and professional and really tried to get to know the usual faces, the regulars were considerate and friendly, and the food was good. Since revisiting recently, the atmosphere is awkward due to the employees attitudes, the newer bar staff does not provide even decent service, and the food is unfortunately subpar. While I'm not expecting a posh, refined environment when I go to a sport's bar, I'm at least expecting semi-professional service in a sport's bar environment. The new host staff seems bothered when anyone walks in. The new group of bartenders are inexperienced and it shows (dropping glasses regularly, leaving draught lines open to spill all over the floor, drinking redbulls around the drinks they're making, etc.) Some of them even go as far as to have an attitude and are rude to REGULARS. Not to mention the weird tension between some of the newer bartending staff, making it feel more like a high school bday party and not a restaurant. Now, I could MAYBE look past all that if the food was also solid. Long story short, it's not. More than a few times, after ordering substitutions on meals (due to preference, diet, etc.), they've come out incorrect. If it was an isolated incident, I wouldn't have even bothered considering it in my review. However, as a regular who is semi-familiar with the management and staff, it still happens enough for it to present itself as lazy, unprofessional service. It is such a shame to see this place falling off, as I used to love coming here to see certain staff members and catch up. But I likely will not return any time soon unless something fundamentally changes in the atmosphere and staff's attitude. read more

We usually go to this bar late at night as we live near. The food and service is usually pretty good but tonight was a different story. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food, after 30 minutes of waiting, the server comes up to us and says somehow the ticket didn't print in the kitchen. Ordered wings as well done and came not well done. The chicken sandwich we ordered, the chicken breast was really hard, manager asked how everything was and gave him an honest feedback and his response was, sometimes you just get the hard part of the chicken. Not to mention the water cup was also cracked. Manager then says I'll give you a coupon. The whole experience was very disappointing. Will not be back! read more

The food was not appetizing at all. The chili looked and tasted like a dog meal. I sent it back only to get hair in my soup. The "mozzarella sticks" were flour fried tortillas with cheese that wasn't melted. The server was great. My wife and I asked for our burgers to be medium rare because the server gave us that option and so did the menu. When we got our burgers, they were so well done and they were so dry we had to ask for extra barbecue sauce to give it moisture. The server went in and told the cook that they were well done and he told her he doubted that was the case. The server asked my wife and I if she could have them remade and we said absolutely not. We all know short order cooks do not like to be told when they have done something wrong. My wife told the server that she would be more than happy to speak with the cook if he truly thought the burgers were medium rare. And my wife left him half the burger because she could just not choke it down. He stayed in the kitchen, staring out at my wife and I at our table until we left. If you cannot have pride in your job and you cannot admit when you are wrong, you might be in the wrong job. Won't go there again. read more

Everything from the food and drinks, to the service and ambiance is 10/10 at this spot. Literally have not had a single thing on the menu that I did not love. Drinks are always crispy, cold, and well-made. Great place to spend the whole evening and make friends, to pop in for a quick bite and beer, or to catch the ball game and keep to yourself. Been there one time 7 months ago, eating down the street decided to stop and have a drink with a group of friends, waitresses to bartender wasn't very sociable walked out unhappy about 3 weeks ago decided just for a quick drink while waiting on a reservation somewhere else, so happened to be a fight night manager was so polite running around making adjustments to fit every guest that walked up we sat outside excellent service. There was one just above and beyond running around fast, tentative still managed to keep a smile on her face. Hannah & Maddie so amazing decided to stay and eat there & eat food was very good. Great service Great wings! It has become my go to spot!! A lot of traditional pub food but there is effort to prepare it and serve it. Atmosphere is nice and friendly too. Great place to watch sports without all the nonsense of other places. If you're a fan of bloody mary's, they make a pretty good one. It won't have all the garnish but It is a quality bloody mary!! Two guys, literally driving from Ajo after hiking all day long. We keep driving north, it's after 7:00 p.m., getting close to Gila Bend. As we drive through the bend, we contemplate eating there or to keep heading north towards the Valley of the Sun for dinner. We end up heading north. As we get closer, I find a brewery just off the freeway in Goodyear. We're pretty hungry now and it's after 8:00. We get there and the wait is over half hour. So we end up at Augie's just down the way. Pretty glad we did too! Definitely a cute place when you walk inside! It's a smaller sports bar but it was lively and they were able to see us right away. We had the best waitress! Her name was Tallyn and she was perfect. She was always checking on us and making sure that we were happy. Friend and I both had the mushroom burger. I guess they actually called the shroom burger. Anyway, burger was pretty good. Waffle fries were pretty cold though. She asked me if everything was okay but I didn't have the heart to tell her no. I was able to finish the cold waffle fries with very watery ranch dressing. Didn't really bother with the vegetables at first but decided to eat them later to get some fiber. Unfortunately the onions must have been soaking in a brine because they were pretty acidic. Not very fresh. So the place has a great atmosphere and the service is great. But the food is just okay. I actually wanted to get the nachos but they came with melted cheese sauce and no thanks. Just not my kind of nachos. I was tempted to try the steak but I figured they had a lot of sandwiches and burgers on their menu so I went there instead. It worked out mostly well in the end read more

We tried this small sports bar on a recent weekend. The tables are good social distance, but any seats at the bar will not be distanced. The food had pretty good results, but I did not care too much for the gritty, peppery version of all beef meatballs. The better choices were the appetizer pretzel sticks with a good cheese dipping sauce and the green chile burger, which was cooked perfectly well done. Food is okay. Prices have gone up, which I understand because of inflation. What I don't agree is charging people to use a debit card. There is now a cash total and a total. It's not listed anywhere in the restaurant that they charge this fee and no one tells you. So be aware. We most likely won't be eating here much. Poor staff is probably getting less tips because of this fee. read more

Really good Buffalo wings! The manager went out of his way to make sure we could see the college football games we wanted to watch from where we were seated. Changed the channel in several tvs to accommodate us. Really appreciated that! We eat here several times on our yearly visits to the City of Hope. Great food! read more

This place is OK, not great or bad. Like many restaurants like this do these days the food is packaged and heated up and serviced, not fresh made. The food wasn't bad but wasn't great either. My first time here, I was disappointed with my order. My husband usually comes here and gets wings and the sliders. I should have tried that instead. I tried the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it has more veggies than meat. Also they didn't even seasoned it at all. No salt, black pepper, etc none. It was just plain meat and veggies. Beware....they are charging a sur charge on food/beverage purchased with a charge card. There is no posting in the restaurant that declares this extra charge.
