Fall feels + spooky sips = the perfect first visit! Today I stepped into Brewed in Chicago for the very first time, and it couldn't have been more magical. The entire café is horror-themed, which makes it the perfect spot to kick off the first day of fall and spooky season. The team was so kind and welcoming -- they really took care of me and helped me pick out the best drink for my vibe. I went with the Fire Starter latte with macadamia milk, and it was amazing. The smooth espresso paired with just a hint of chili took the flavor to another level -- cozy, bold, and just the right amount of heat. If you're looking for killer coffee, spooky vibes, and wonderful service this fall as Halloween creeps closer, you NEED to check this place out.

So when I heard about a horror themed coffeehouse I expected a dingy little place with Freddy and Jason murals. Ah!!!! No, these are my kind of monsters - all the classics all over the place. Beautiful interior, large, comfortable and clean. With Monsters all over the place. Could be a reason to move to Avondale. Nothing this cool in my neighborhood... Monster themed drinks were great and a long list of Italian sodas for a hot day. Found a Kitaro collectible of Medama Oyaji in one case. Can I move in?

Very cool place, a horror themed cafe featuring Godzilla, scary killer alien snakes, nostalgic cereal in large bowls, to die for coffee, and some seating. We came here on a Sunday morning around 10am, there were a few people in line ahead of us an all the main seating was taken but there were still spots to sit in the back. We got the bowl of lucky charms for our kid, he loved them. We all got him a Marz Pink Lemonade. I got a cold brew and a bagel with vegan cream cheese (although I didn't get the vegan cream cheese and also said nothing so not on them 100%). Overall a pretty interesting place.

My husband and I were visiting a nearby farmers market when we discovered The Brewed on Google, and we're so glad we did! We were expecting a typical coffee shop, but this place completely blew us away. From the moment you walk in, it's like stepping into a retro-horror wonderland Every corner is packed with nostalgic collectibles, horror icons, and quirky decor that make the entire space feel like a playful, creative universe of its own. The shop is also surprisingly huge!!! Which is rare. The Brewed gives you room to breathe, sit, and enjoy. And the atmosphere? Every single wall is thoughtfully designed and packed with character. The menu is just as impressive. Whether you're a classic coffee lover or into creative, flavorful drinks, there's something for everyone. We both loved what we ordered, our drinks were delicious, bold, and perfectly made. The service was kind and welcoming, and overall, the vibe of the place was spot-on.

Such a fun place to grab a coffee! I loved the horror decor and collectible cases. The murals on the walls were so cool. They had many creative and funky coffee options. Unfortunately, I really did not like what I tried. I got the re-agent which was espresso with a sweetened tonic water. It was really not my thing. I was too proud to ask for a replacement. The staff was very kind and offered to let me try one of the other drinks but I declined. Overall this was such a cool vibe! Bring all your horror fans here!

Great coffee, awesome atmosphere and lovely staff! We came from Ohio and made this stop a must since we have a horror movie group.

A horror-themed coffee shop is totally my jam. Sadly, their menu is a bit lacking. I went for the Skull Island - a Banana Mocha - but there really isn't anything else I'd even be interested in ordering. Would love to see them add some more interesting horror-themed lattes!

Bakery items are not made in house and were for the most part, chewy and a bit stale. Drinks were decent. Service was kind and patient (experienced a fun milk spillage that everyone had a good attitude about-cleaned up very quickly). Ambiance is really fun vintage 80s Halloween vibes. My kids had a good time checking out all their collectibles. Can sit down and do work here if desired. Cute photo booth and next to a vintage record shop next door. Overall nice experience.

The brewed passed the vibe check. The atmosphere was awesome. The decor top tier. The service was friendly and efficient. The drinks were okay. They didn't blow me away.

Super cool horror themed (but not scary!) coffee shop! Had fun looking at the record shop next door and all the cool memorabilia here. I hot the wassil to drink which was a seasonal spiced cider, I got it hot! All the options they had sounded really good though. It was ready fast and the baristas were friendly. Had fun with the Photo Booth too!

The THING ad from before it was released!

Amazing horror themed coffee shop that is EXACTLY my jam. They have an original THE THING advertisement cardboard standup from BEFORE IT WAS RELEASED! They have breakfast cereal. They have TWIN PEAKS themed drinks. There's a frankenhooker doll. I love it here.

I wanted to try a cafe in my neighborhood that I had not tried already. Seeing how Milwaukee Avenue is slowly filling in to the north of Diversey Avenue, I noticed The Brewed within walking distance. This is a happening spot. The hipster crowd that was once all the rage on the Logan Square landscape seems to congregate here. Well, I can attest to them having great taste in coffee because the coffee is the best. I have popped in a few times since my first visit, and I will say that the service and the selections of coffee I have had have always made it easier for me to return. I'm going to miss this spot when I move away from the neighborhood.

This place is LEGIT - top 3 coffee shops in Chicago hands down. The horror theming is so intricate and fun. Someone needs to give the interior decorator a raise! The drinks are amazing as well, especially the pistachio matcha latte (Kai Juice). I'm obsessed with both pistachio and matcha flavored things so this drink was made for me. They even have macadamia nut milk! I didn't try a pastry but I'm sure they are delicious too. Def wanna come back to try their other specialty drinks.

The shop is sparsely decorated but seems to be a real staple in the community, which felt special to visit as an outsider. My friend and I both ordered egg and goat cheese bagel sandwiches. I ordered an iced lavender matcha and my friend ordered a cappuccino. The sandwiches were made with boiled eggs, which felt extremely odd. The egg type was not clarified on the menu, but I feel like for a breakfast sandwich to include a boiled egg instead of a traditional fried or scrambled egg, that should be disclosed to customers with some sort of expectations. My friend said the cappuccino was "just like every other cappuccino I've ever had." The lavender matcha really just tasted like a regular matcha. It was good but not much lavender flavor! Our food also took a bit to come out, despite the coffee shop being empty (only one other person already dining when we came in) and what we ordered. It looked like there were only two workers. I personally wouldn't visit Sipping Turtle Cafe again, unfortunately. There are a lot of other great options around that satisfy me more.

I don't know what sorcery they are using to bake these scones, but they are not your average dry, flaky pastry. They are moist, gooey, huge, heavy on flavors and ingredients, and always delicious. I'm tempted to ask the owner to start texting me the scone flavors of the day so I never miss my favorites. Top 5 scones: - Peaches and cream - Cherry chocolate - Vanilla chai and/or vanilla rosemary (can't pick) - Lemon ginger - Chocolate caramel pecan Obviously I'm a sweet pastry person, but they also always have a couple of savory options like ham jalapeño cheddar, goat cheese, etc. I had one that was like blackberry habanero one time?? I got the 16 oz. iced latte which only comes with two shots of coffee, but I asked for an extra shot to be put in. The latte was fine. The espresso flavor was definitely very strong, but nothing unique or experimental. This is pretty typical of Counter Culture beans since they tend to stick to mainstream preferences. Overall, chill spot. The coffee is reliable, and the interior is cozy.

There's currently no reliable way to place a to-go order ahead of time: their phone number isn't listed, the website advertises online ordering but it never seems to work, and the delivery apps are hit or miss at best. I'd honestly order from here a lot more often if I could easily place an order while out walking my dogs and pick it up later. I haven't tried their breakfast sandwich, because I'm not a big pork sausage person-- would love if they had more variations of a breakfast sandwich! You can also order a toasted english muffin that comes with fresh butter and a homemade jam.. it's so simple but addicting. I have had their Lox English Muffin a couple of times, and if you love Lox, it's GREAT. Really good balance of cream cheese/veggie/lox ratio.. though Lox is always so overpowering so it's most of what you're going to taste. If you are a quiche person, PLEASE try theirs. The creativity in their rotating flavors, and their perfect crust, are a must-try. It's soooo well done. Every pastry I've tried has been spectacular, from their almond blackberry croissant to the pistachio escargot, to their donuts.. I don't think you can go wrong. Their cinnamon roll is next on my list.. but I need to try it when I'm with 2-3 other people because it is GINORMOUS. I don't trust that I wouldn't eat the whole thing by myself. Their coffee is good, but there's nothing special to me about it! I come here for their fresh pastries and eats. They have free wifi and it's fairly quiet, so a good place to knock out some work or have a good conversation with a friend. It's neat, clean, and bright with a good amount of seating. This place is right next to my therapy office, so I frequent it a couple of times a month, and I have always felt welcomed and cared for by their employees. If you are eating there, they will go the extra mile to bring your food to your table and make sure you have everything you need. Highly recommend!!
