Bad coffee just made some upgrades to somehow make it even better! The new partition door that opens up brings in so much fresh air and sunlight. And as a bonus: makes the place dog friendly!!! It continues to be one of the best spots in the neighborhood to work while also having some of the most delicious coffee. I usually like to try their seasonal menu but on this visit they were in between menus, so I went for their brown sugar latte. They have a house-made sugar that is so good. I got mine half sweet and with cold foam which was perfect!

I love this spot and will definitely be back. I recommend the Masala Chai Latte and the Dulce de Leche Latte, but everything on the menu sounds incredible. The interior design of the space and the atmosphere are perfect for a catch up or study session. I did expect for there to be more seating, but what they have is comfortable. The staff were all kind, helpful, and welcoming!

Very impressed by Bad Coffee! Gorgeous bright, modern space. Decent amount of seating. Looks like they have a stage for performances. Fun speciality seasonal latte and drink creations. Coffee flight was perfect for trying a little of everything!

Coffee flight. All drinks tasted fine, nothing memorable.

I visited here for their coffee flight. The parking might was a bit of a challenge, as the location's entrance is in an alley. Indoor seating was a combination of comfortable lounge seating and tables, though not a lot of it; it looked to seat a max of 20 people. There's a designated spot for live music to play in the front, when available. The baristas semed to be distracted when I was at the counter, and were pretty brief in explaining what could included in the flight - I didn't realize until I read their paper menu later that seasonal drinks could have been included. Anyway, I ordered a mix of hot and cold drinks from their everyday menu. I appreciated that there were small mugs for the hot drinks and glass cups for the cold ones. As for the drinks themselves, the presentation was nice and they all tasted distinct enough to tell them apart from one another, but not enough to be memorable. I wouldn't be opposed to visiting again, but I'm not going out of my way to do so.

Cute and bright cafe with equally cheery staff. I got a large cold brew, and it was excellent. I paid a little under $6, and I felt it was underpriced given how solidly executed it was. The bathrooms are all super clean. They're more reminicient of office building bathrooms than cute cafe bathrooms. They're also host comedy shows! But I think never during business hours. Highly recommend

This new spot has piqued my interest since I learned it opened in the Ravenswood industrial corridor. I stopped in last week to check it out. The place was *packed*. They have about ten tables and they were all in use. One was clearly meant as either a communal or large party table because it seats about 8, and it was nearly full. There was a like of six or so folks in front of me when I got there, but I was really surprised that it took only about 20 minutes for me to get in and out. The woman taking the order may not be great at listening... I asked for a breve chai, hot, and she asked me if "regular" milk was ok and then if it was hot or iced. So that could use improvement. I have gotten the feeling at several places recently that they're super concerned with being fast or rushing through an order, and I'd much rather they take their time to actually listen and understand and, if you need me to pause before ordering additional drinks, ask me to wait/say "ok let me get that added" or something instead of just being silent. They have some food too, but I was just here for drinks. Although my experience here was lackluster, I can't say I wouldn't return, because they clearly have some sort of music or other entertainment here on occasion. They had an actual velvet rope outside the place and there's a small dias where a performer can do their thing. So I'm curious about what else happens here, and who knows, maybe if I visit again I'd have a better experience. Although the entrance faces an alley, I'm not sure it's an operational one so pay attention where you're going. If it's not an alley in use as an alley, it'd be cool if they put some tables out here. Parking is practically non-existent; there's a few spaces down the block, possibly.

Located in Ravenswood, it was a stop along the Ravenswood ArtWalk. I had a Brown Sugar Latte- rich and sweet. The staff were very friendly and inviting. There were artists set up in the cafe, so I am not sure how it is set up normally, but there were tables inside and outside. They have a stage for events- music and comedy. I would definitely be back when in the area.

Bad coffee is a great neighborhood coffee shop! They have a variety of syrups and coffee offerings. Their toast is an amazing addition to any breakfast or lunch run here and you cannot go wrong with any of the flavor options. If you're here on Sundays, catch the live music which sets the mood for your visit. The vibe is great with a mural celebrating the area. Every staff member has been very kind and helpful if we needed help or recommendations.

Cozy coffee shop tucked in Ravenswood was SO good! Absolutely loved the pistachio matcha latte! Would totally come back!

was recommend this place after ranting to a friend that coffee places no longer had good cold brew. Bad Coffee definitely has a good cold brew and a 32oz option? yes. The barista George was super nice (only found out his name was george because i ordered his drink) service was great, super quick and friendly. The fact that this place doubles as a venue is super speak easy and i love it. the ambiance was also a win. i couldn't imagine myself working from here, but i could imagine myself ordering their 32oz cold brew multiple times a week. (pictured is a 16oz Iced Salted caramel latte and a 26oz George Cold Brew)

I came here to work on a Friday morning and it was pretty cozy and it was nice that they had free wifi. They have a good handful of chairs and couch like chairs, plus it's dog friendly as well. Service was great but the coffee and toast were just ok for me. The coffee was a bit weak and the toast had fresh ingredients but just too toasted and thick for my taste. I think if it was toasted less, it would've been easier to eat and not really rubbed against the roof of my mouth.

Stumbled upon this newly opened cafe as I walked past their mural on Ravenswood and Burteau. The entrance is tucked away in the alley and the cafe is much larger than I anticipated. Unlike their name, I found the coffee to be great. I got the pumpkin cold brew which was wonderful- not that sweet and the best afternoon pick me up. Service was very friendly and there's plenty of seating for studying or working.

Avocado toast and the other is the berry goat cheese spread. Delicious!

Very cool hip place off the beaten path. Saw them on Instagram and decided to check it out this morning. The place is very popular. They have the yummiest and prettiest toasts. We had the avocado toast and the goat cheese, berry and granola one. Both were delicious. Coffee was great too. Highly recommend.

The shop is sparsely decorated but seems to be a real staple in the community, which felt special to visit as an outsider. My friend and I both ordered egg and goat cheese bagel sandwiches. I ordered an iced lavender matcha and my friend ordered a cappuccino. The sandwiches were made with boiled eggs, which felt extremely odd. The egg type was not clarified on the menu, but I feel like for a breakfast sandwich to include a boiled egg instead of a traditional fried or scrambled egg, that should be disclosed to customers with some sort of expectations. My friend said the cappuccino was "just like every other cappuccino I've ever had." The lavender matcha really just tasted like a regular matcha. It was good but not much lavender flavor! Our food also took a bit to come out, despite the coffee shop being empty (only one other person already dining when we came in) and what we ordered. It looked like there were only two workers. I personally wouldn't visit Sipping Turtle Cafe again, unfortunately. There are a lot of other great options around that satisfy me more.

Top 5 scones: - Peaches and cream - Cherry chocolate - Vanilla chai and/or vanilla rosemary (can't pick) - Lemon ginger - Chocolate caramel pecan Obviously I'm a sweet pastry person, but they also always have a couple of savory options like ham jalapeño cheddar, goat cheese, etc. I had one that was like blackberry habanero one time?? The espresso flavor was definitely very strong, but nothing unique or experimental. This is pretty typical of Counter Culture beans since they tend to stick to mainstream preferences. I have had their Lox English Muffin a couple of times, and if you love Lox, it's GREAT.
