Decaf Americano and red velvet donut
    Amber D.

This place has been on my list for quite a while and every time I'm back in Chicago, I always miss it. Well I finally made it here and it is such a cute cafe! no zoom or phone calls so it's a nice place to work as long as you're not doing that. I got a decaf Americano and a red velvet donut. Both were delicious. The barista was really nice too.

Beautiful setting on a bustling corner in Avondale. Prime location for foot traffic, I was immediately relieved when I saw a sign on the door advertising a zoom meeting free environment (sorry job, no impromptu video calls iykyk!). An otherwise great spot to camp out for some independent study, lots of seating, both indoor and on their charming patio space out back. The menu was expansive and creative -- red wine caramel latte, what?! Visually striking wall art, seemingly locally sourced gifts, friendly helpful team at the counter. Cute spot for a date or meetup. 10/10

Staring with the positives, the decor was beautiful and the staff were all super sweet. I read some reviews of not so great service so I was a little worried but everyone was so kind. I got their seasonal cardamom honey latte and even though I got it with an extra shot of espresso, I felt like I couldn't really taste it. The flavor was delicious tho. With almond milk and an extra shot, my drink was a little over $8 which I feel like is typical for speciality lattes in Chicago. I'd probably stop by again if I was in the neighborhood but I wouldn't go out of my way.

    Cafe con leche

Where have all the yelpers gone? No reviews in 7 months? That's crazy! I came here for a quick cup of coffee. The staff was great and although I took my coffee to go, this wouldn't be a bad place to sit down, relax and sip on some coffee. It looked very inviting and cozy. They do have a lot of options to order. Their Cafe con Leche caught my eye. When I think of Cafe con Leche, I think of strong Cuban coffee, and then you add some Azucar and you get a really sweet and strong coffee. Unfortunately, their version didn't come close. While it was still tasty, it should not be named Cafe con Leche. Would probably try something else next time though.

I've driven by several times and haven't had occasion to stop, but today was the day. I love that they have a large, covered outdoor space in the back between the parking and the shop. There's very much a retro vibe happening here along with a tropical cabana sort of feel, and it looks really comfy with the nice plush chairs and whatnot (I stopped in to pick up and go, so I didn't get to sit and enjoy). They also appear to have a shop bird, though they were hiding when I was here. The drinks are just ok. At least, the one I had. My chai was not very robust which was a disappointment. It had some flavor, but just a bit weaker than I'd hoped. I also tasted a bit of hibiscus lemonade and it was alright. I neglected to ask if it was homemade lemonade and that is totally on me. They use Simply Lemonade (it was being delivered whilst we were there). I got a rosemary caramel sea-salt latte for my significant other and they thought it was quite good. That's something I did very much like about The Avondale Coffee Club--they had quite a few drinks that seemed a little unique, like the rosemary. It was worth a visit.

Fun spot! This place was super busy on a Sunday morning where every table and high chair was taken. The staff was super friendly and warm. I ordered an iced hazelnut latte and my boyfriend ordered a maple cinnamon latte. I enjoyed my latte overall, there wasn't anything wrong or anything outstanding. My boyfriend really enjoyed his latte, the cinnamon was a nice subtle kick! Prices were reasonable and would love to come back to do some work or read here!

Maple + Cinnamon Latte and Chocolate Croissant

I went to Avondale Coffee Club for my first time this morning and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a new, cozy spot as I've tried a lot of coffee shops in Chicago and this place is such a gem. When I walked in, one of the first things I noticed was signs noting no phone calls or Zoom calls allowed which I am a huge fan of. The cafe was cute, cozy, and had the perfect noise level which allows customers to have conversation or work quietly in peace rather than screaming over music like other cafes in the city. I ordered the Maple + Cinnamon iced latte and it was everything I wanted and more. I especially appreciated the fact that the flavor didn't taste fake/artificial - it was flavorful while not being overwhelming. My fiancé ordered the Madagascar Vanilla latte and loved his as well. We also ordered a vanilla donut and a chocolate croissant which were both very good as well. I can't say enough great things about Avondale Coffee Club and truly cannot wait to return again! Do not miss out on this hidden gem.

Lots of fun and varied seating options

Yay yay ! nothing better than finding an awesome new coffee spot walking distance from home. You know a latte is legit when it comes complete with custom foam design. I had the honey latte with almond milk. The custom all their own flavoring ( no sugar free syrups / flavoring around if that's an issue ). Decor is adorable and plenty of seating options from wooden tables to do work, comfortable couches and big lounge chairs. This place is elegant and adorable. Free parking for an hour in the back too ( enter lot off Belmont) . Not many food options - just a couple of sweet treats available but I'll be back for the lattes for sure... maybe tomorrow !!!

While visiting my son in Belmont area, I was happy to find two great coffee shops within walking distance! From the moment you walk in, Avondale has a fun ambience and a fun range of interior and exterior spaces! I was up before everyone else, so I took my sketchbook and settled in with a tasty honey latte (hot, cuz I'm old) and proceeded to partake of the vibe! The staff was super mellow and courteous. I only had the coffee but there were pastries looked delicious. Came back a day later for round two of drink and draw. Check them out!

Really cute coffee shop. My first time in there. Espresso was good and not too bitter. Ample seating. I appreciated that they asked people not to take zoom calls in there. I think they have food offerings, but it was late in the day and they were out. Street parking isn't great but I will definitely come back some time.

    My wonderfully prepared mocha!

Excellent place for coffee & WiFi. Customers are serious workers on their computers. Great place to come alone if you need quiet or need to study or work. My mocha was exquisitely prepared. And tasted so good, especially on a rainy afternoon. Went well with reading a chapter from "The Everlasting Man" by GK Chesterton. A happy customer here!

The shop is sparsely decorated but seems to be a real staple in the community, which felt special to visit as an outsider. My friend and I both ordered egg and goat cheese bagel sandwiches. I ordered an iced lavender matcha and my friend ordered a cappuccino. The sandwiches were made with boiled eggs, which felt extremely odd. The egg type was not clarified on the menu, but I feel like for a breakfast sandwich to include a boiled egg instead of a traditional fried or scrambled egg, that should be disclosed to customers with some sort of expectations. My friend said the cappuccino was "just like every other cappuccino I've ever had." The lavender matcha really just tasted like a regular matcha. It was good but not much lavender flavor! Our food also took a bit to come out, despite the coffee shop being empty (only one other person already dining when we came in) and what we ordered. It looked like there were only two workers. I personally wouldn't visit Sipping Turtle Cafe again, unfortunately. There are a lot of other great options around that satisfy me more.

The espresso flavor was definitely very strong, but nothing unique or experimental. This is pretty typical of Counter Culture beans since they tend to stick to mainstream preferences.
