The Bridal suite was my vendor for hair for myself (bride), my mom, and my three bridesmaids. I just read another review from a few years ago that sounds exactly like my experience. But I'm not sure if it would have made me look elsewhere if I read it before I hired them due to their high overall rating. They didn't get to our location on time so they were still doing my hair which made the wedding late by 30 minutes. The whole wedding schedule was pushed back and needed to be rushed due to this vendor. I asked for Hollywood waves. I got 90s frizz. We even told her it was too frizzy and she did a little more work (it actually looked worse before). I thought this place was good. A professional hairstylist should know how to do Hollywood waves. They also made my mom's hair look like crap. They did okay on my 3 bridesmaids. Even if they did better-than-okay on them, that would be like 50 points out of 100. I texted Tru about our disappointment. She literally said, "For your hair, we actually loved how it turned out." You either can do it or you can't. This tells me they don't know how to do Hollywood waves which makes sense since there aren't any pictures of people with the Hollywood waves look in their pictures on Yelp. It also says my opinion doesn't matter. In her text, she said, my mom "didn't have enough hair to do braids." I literally did the braids on my mom's hair before the wedding and that was without extensions and it still looked cute. So this just confirmed that she (the owner, Tru) didn't care about doing a good job as she was the one doing my mom's hair and had a look of apathy on her face in our bRiDaL sUiTe while we were getting ready. I would have thought that at least her reaction to my complaint would have shown concern or any level of standards to meet the client's expectations. This was the worst vendor that we worked with for our wedding. For some reference, our makeup artist was amazing and did an amazing job on everyone. (Moka Beaute) The picture of me in the comparison photo (right) was taken less than 2 hours after they did my hair. Highly recommend! Last minute I decided to get my hair done for a COVID wedding. I was able to book my appointment easily with the online portal the night before. When I entered, I felt safe with how socially distant I was from the other person getting their hair done. I had asked for volume and curls and Tru took it to a whole other level! My hair is super thin and the curls fall within 2-3 hours, but Tru magically made my hair look/feel thick and the curls lasted for three days! Definitely my new go to place! read more

The concept of The Bridal Suite is perfect for any bride who is getting married at a venue that either doesn't offer a space to get ready in or you don't have enough time reserved at the venue to get ready. The fee to have the salon to yourself on your wedding day is beyond reasonable and their pricing is very fair. From the time I reached out, Tru was responsive and very flexible with any requests. I could not have been happier with my wedding hair and make up done by The Bridal Suite team. I have very thin hair and Tru was able to make my hair look so full and voluminous for my wedding and I was so happy with how my make up held up through tears and sweat all day! The salon is clean and cute and all of the stylists are so nice and fun to talk to. You can bring your own champagne (as much as you want) and food! I couldn't have been happier with my experience working with Tru for my wedding! I told her that I wanted to "still look like myself" but with a more dramatic makeup look than I usually wear, which she definitely achieved. I told her I felt like a Pinterest photo when she was done - it was exactly what I wanted! Tru & her assistants were timely, sweet, and very attentive to requests from my bridal party to ensure they felt beautiful for the wedding day. I worked with Tru leading up to the big day sending her photos of what I was liking in terms of hair and makeup which made me feel confident that I wouldn't end up with something I'd be unhappy with. Tru was super accommodating in meeting me at my parents' house when I was in town for my hair & makeup trial, and also came to our wedding venue for the wedding day so I didn't have to rush around all day. I definitely have to do an update review, after my wedding date, but this is based off of the bridal hair trial I had yesterday. One of the things I liked about Tru, was that she was one of the few people willing to do hair on Sunday as my wedding is taking place over two days. She also does make up too, lesson learned. Had I known earlier how hard it was to book two different people and found her earlier, I would have booked her for both. The start of my appointment was terrible, because I arrived late. I had wedding shower drama. The dress I ordered didn't fit, had to buy white pants and a shirt and look icky and frumpy for my own bridal shower, with my mom keeping it too real and telling me maybe I am round. I think I was anywhere between 20-30 minutes late, because of that disaster and with the exception of the receptionist for JC who was rude, Tru acted professionally and didn't mention it. I had a great time, during the hair trial as we shared stories and talked about those little interesting details in your life that isn't done often. As for the hair, she listened to what I wanted. and easily replicated the pictures from my pinterest board. She gave plenty of good advice, including recommendations as to how much I needed to trim/cut off for optimal updo hold and added a few extra details, which I felt was nice. I definitely tipped her the best that I could, because she deserved it. Even though my clothes looked like crap, I knew by the end with a few cute accessories and an amazing hair I looked the part of the bride at the wedding shower. I received many compliments and was excited to know it would look even better, after we make the adjustments to my hair, namely the length, that we discussed. If you're open to ideas and suggestions, I feel she can be a valuable ally and make you look your best. However, if you are picky and don't want suggestions, she can do that too. I was dead set my hair had to have a certain element and she complied, which was cool of her to do. I will post pictures, after July 22/23 and please expect an updated review as to the wedding day experience. Truc is my homegirl! She is highly experienced and very talented. I met with her to do a makeup trial, she reviewed the pinterest posts that I brought and made recommendations that suited me best. From there, I trusted her and didn't need to do a hair trial. I had my bridesmaids go through her for their hair and makeup and we are all so pleased! Visited Texas (from NYC) to attend a wedding so was in search of a hair salon where they also offered makeup services. This is how we came upon the Bridal Suite. First and foremost, we were really appreciative of True (co-owner)and her entire team (Bianca, Erica, etc.) for accommodating additional, last minute requests and for squeezing a few members of the family on a day they were double booked (we had few events to attend). We were a group of approximately 10 people getting our hair and makeup done and True (and Bianca) made sure they fulfilled each and every single of our requests. We were truly greatful of True and Bianca for coming to the hotel the next day to provide styling and makeup services for our large group. This made our lives much easier and convenient. Overall, the team was very friendly and professional (don't be turned off by Bianca's attitude-she's a bit reserved at first but very warm once she opens up). This vendor left my friend in tears before her engagement shoot. They did not show up on time, kept changing the appointment time, and when they did show up they curled her hair instead of doing a blowout stating it would look better. They caked on her makeup, and claimed she left glowing reviews when they did a follow up call. They never followed up with her, and blatantly lied about doing so. This vendor charged for the trial makeup, and made the engagement shoot obsolete. Very sad customer service from this facility. Next time I would encourage them to try and remedy a situation instead of posting false statements to make their business appear not at fault. read more

Please do not choose this vendor. I chose The Bridal Suite for my engagement photos and it was a disaster. First, they were an hour late and when they did finally arrive (after blatantly lying several times about their arrival time) they informed me there was not enough time to provide the service that I had requested and clarified over email prior to the appointment. As a compromise, I agreed to very light waves. By the end I had a head full, tight curls. Not only did they give me curls I did not want, the curls completely fell within two hours of leaving the salon and my hair has never had an issue holding curls before. I have no idea how they expect the hair to hold for an entire wedding! The hair and makeup photographed horribly. The makeup caked and my hair frizzed and fell. Obviously, I am going get more pictures taken. When I called, they did offer to do my hair and makeup for the new pictures. However, after the extreme lack professionalism and the poor result of the first pictures, I do not trust them to perform well. It's clear to me that this business lacks integrity and only cares about the money, not the happiness of their brides. DO NOT HIRE. read more

I decided to try this place out to get my hair styled for a night out. I was not disappointed! The staff is so friendly and helpful. They started on my hair immediately, asking lots of questions to make sure they knew exactly what I wanted! Tru had a wedding that same day and still made sure to make it back to the salon before my appointment ended to personally greet me and make sure my hair was styled to my liking. I used The Bridal Suite for my wedding about a month ago at The Astorian. They came to the venue to do hair and make-up for 5 bridesmaids, 2 moms, the bride, and flower girl. We had a range in hair style - long, short, shoulder length - and they were able to style it all with no issue. Everything turned out stunning!
