Arrived and there was no one at the front desk. I came to treat myself on my birthday and was immediately disappointed. Other girls were asked if they wanted wine/anything to drink. I was not offered anything. I also noticed the other two stylists working on girls ASKED them how they wanted their hair, with curled ends/blow out. My stylist just said "more volume?" And that was it...... After she blow dryed my hair and said we were finished, I asked her if she could curl one side of my hair more as it did not look the same as the other side and she acted like I was asking her for a billion dollar I've been here once before for my makeup and the artist did a great job which is why I came back. Stylist was about ten minutes late but also it was a holiday weekend so they were busy. They wash and condition your hair and style it. It looked great and lasted through the indoor event. I did ask to get something to last going out because friends were in town but she didn't put an anti frizz in there so it was a mess for Montrose. Otherwise pretty good. read more

I came for a blowout with extensions and she asked out I wanted it styled so I showed a pic. Now I want to say first, the girl who did my was SO kind, she was gentle with my wash, blow drying and placement of my extensions. The reason I am really unsatisfied and probably wouldn't recommend here is because what I asked for and what I go look nothing alike. This was my first time at Blo and I have to admit I was skeptical as to what the quality would be as I was able to schedule an appointment the night before. Boy was I wrong! I scheduled a custom hairstyle with wash/blow dry. Although it is a bit pricey ($99) David did an amazing job on a wavy low ponytail hairstyle. Just left and my hair looks horrible and sad. I was so excited to treat myself to a blow out before an important photo session. Wanted blow out with bouncy curls and I said my hair doesn't curl well before we started and in my notes I said I'd need pinned up curls and told them I may need the curling iron. I Left with straight/messy/frizzy hair that looks like I just woke up - I wanted to ask for curls but as soon as she gave me the blow out " she said "okay you're good to go" and packed up her stuff and left. No time for me to ask for her to add curls. She was not nice at all and seemed like me being there was a huge inconvenience will not return at all as I felt like I had no opportunity to say I didn't like it or wanted to add curls / change it. I felt rushed out my appointment wasn't even the full hour. You're better just going to your hair stylist or doing your hair yourself. As a new mom, I was thrilled with the opportunity to get my hair blown out for a work party. I looked forward to this appointment all day. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience. Stylist insisted I didn't need a blow out and just a dry style. She quickly curled my hair and rushed me out of the chair. My hair fell as soon as I got home and I had to redo for the time of the event. Highlight of my time there was her trying to charge me for the full blowout that she refused to do. I have visited 5 or 6 times (more if you count the old location) and worked with 3 or 4 of the current stylists. If nothing else, this location has worked its way into my rotation as a reliable GoodThing. The customer service is great. Booking an appointment couldn't be easier, especially once you are an established client. I hesitate to recommend Victoria and Cinthia ... because I'm not ready to hear that they are fully booked with no room for me LOL. Yeah, yeah, yeah, every stylist is trained to do all types of hair mmhm, riiight ... only, see, no one has worked with my hair longer than I have. I generally know what this hair will and won't do without a fight and also which product types are nonstarters. I don't micromanage; I just watch and notice who hears me versus who doesn't or can't deliver. In other words, I am a blow-dry bar stylist's worst nightmare. With all that as context, I say that not every stylist there is a winner, but I've had no difficulty avoiding the one stylist who has twice demonstrated the limits to their listening and/or styling skills. I read some of the 1-star reviews and have to laugh. You mad at the cancellation charge for the appointment you didn't keep but throw shade on how they treated your hair {some other time, presumably, which raises the question why you were trying to come back)? Uh huh. Idk - I've never had a problem cancelling, but then I don't cancel last minute. I call when I'm running late (bc 10+ min late counts as missing the appointment) and, if necessary, they work to reschedule me for later the same day - sometimes just 15min later to avoid triggering the cancellation penalty. For me, a 1-star rating would mean the place is (1) nasty dirty, (2) racist/___phobic/hateful vibes, (3) truly and routinely hazardous to my hair, (4) criminal, or some combination of (1) - (4). If I'm brutally honest, 5-star ratings from me are hella rare because no place is perfect. Call this an instance where the fifth star is my attempt to bring some balance to what strikes me as 1-star foolishness. So that's that. This is a good place. Just don't overbok the stylists who do me right LOL. read more

I booked online but later decided to add eye makeup to my appointment and was able to easily call and get my appointment rearranged. The salon itself is small and very warm. They need more space between stylists because mine and the only next to her could barely fit. My stylist was Na'J and she was amazing. Just overall so sweet and very good at her job. My hair was incredible and probably could have lasted forever. Her makeup skills were also great. She was able to give me exactly what I wanted even when I had trouble describing it. Quit going after being treated poorly, I made an early AM appointment; No apology and I ended up being quite stressed out after an hour's wait. I let them know I was bummed out and asked them if they could comp since it was so rushed and really evident that the person doing my hair was stressed out too. I I've always left a generous tip there too so don't get the attitude. I asked why they couldn't at least have texted me that they were running very late. 15 minutes is ok, but an hour? I got the "Hollywould" blow out yesterday. Mandy was my stylist- she was really sweet and did a great job. She was very delicate with washing and drying my hair- which was so nice because sometimes stylists can be a little rough! My curls looked so great and I was impressed with how quick my appointment was. The quality of service, product, and time was all 5 star worthy! I will definitely come back, I'm trying to find an excuse for my next appointment! This is the worst salon I have visited. I went to the salon for a 6:15 appointment last Friday 3/25 for a quick blow out. The person over the phone helped to get me a same day appointment which I appreciated. I got in waited all of 5 mins after check in and was approached by a hair stylist asking if my name was something else. I said no he walked away and then came back and said my name I said yes. He said he would be doing my hair today. I said okay he introduce himself twice and said his name. I mentioned that I didn't need my hair washed or conditioner just blowed dried. He proceeded to do my hair and he was doing a good job in my opinion. As time went on I told him to just straighten the roots and showed him a pic of a wave style he said okay understood and began to curly my hair everything was fine, until he dropped the curling iron on my face specifically on the right side of my forehead. I screamed immediately and knocked the iron out of my face. He apologized a number of times and went to get a first aid kit. I googled what to do as my face was burning and I went to the cashier the individuals at the front were whispering and didn't even say sorry or anything they said this was free and I walked out. I understand accidents happen but I have a huge burn on my face and it's been almost a week no one reached out to see if I was okay, no one called to apologize and that's unacceptable. Came in to get my hair blown out with an added braid and makeup for a photoshoot. Katherine did my makeup beautifully and kept it natural like I requested. Although it was a full coverage look, it didn't feel like it at all and she was done with my whole look in less than 30 minutes! I've been here four times and had eight services. Three visits were perfect and one was just off, although they did try to address and resolve my concern, which was much appreciated. Overall I'm very impressed with the stylists for both hair and makeup. I would not hesitate to recommend both. Like anywhere else, it may take a try or two to find a stylist that gets you, but it happened quickly for me - yay! The Unite hair products are nice too. The biggest surprise for me was the makeup. They use a neat line - Glo, I believe - and it just looks great. The artists are very professional and hygienic and will communicate well with you throughout the process. This location was super nice I was running late on a Saturday morning to my 9 am appointment and tried to call the store earlier before they opened in case they had earlier clients. They were closed but right after 9 they had called me back asking if I had called. They were able to move my appointment that morning which was amazing. That was amazing service and I really appreciated it. My hair was styled to perfection, and I knew I was going to have great hair the moment my stylist started to straighten my baby hairs around my face before she went in with a curling iron.
