Very popular coffee spot in a quaint neighborhood in Evanston. The place was buzzing with people when we walked in and there were no seats available (good sign), so we ordered lattes and an egg pocket to go. I wasn't going to order food but was tempted when I saw the delicious egg filled pastries on others plates while waiting. Very good coffee and yummy sandwich. I'm a big fan of this coffee shop. That was introduced by a connection who lives around there. It is a pretty chill atmosphere and every time I've gone there I've noticed a lot of people having some good conversations. If you don't get there early enough, you may find it hard to find a good place to sit down and settle. really easy to get to by public transportation, especially if you're taking the purple (right off the main stop). Came on a Saturday morning with the family. Found parking outside right away. There's plenty of seating and free wifi. There's a bookshelf with books and some board games. The Do-Rite donuts and games kept my children entertained. I had a latte with oatmeal and sugar free vanilla syrup. Drinks came out pretty quick. I also tried a quiche. As far as warm food goes there aren't too many options. They had a couple quiche in the fridge and some hand pies. They also have bagels. Lots of donut and pastry options. I'll come back! read more

I came here to meet a coworker on a Friday morning. It was crowded but we were able to snag a table, and the coffee was tasty and fairly priced. The baristas were personable and the service overall was great. I love that they serve Tala coffee and are supporting another Northshore coffee place. I used to live literally right above here (second floor of the apartment building, and my window overlooked the Brother's K patio setup). But, this was only my third time coming here (in my defense I lived there where I was a broke grad student and couldn't afford to get coffee that I didn't make myself lol). I wish I would've come here more often. I forgot how cute it is. If/when I'm in the neighborhood, I would definitely stop by again. I would definitely prefer this over the Starbucks across the street. read more

Overall honestly probably could be a 3.5 star cause of their Italian soda! The Italian soda was great. There's nothing special otherwise about the shop. It could use some work from the inside. The coffee is nothing special, better than Starbucks (unless u like the sugary sugary drinks) and it's also cheaper so that's a positive. Though Starbucks is usually nicer from the inside. The food is subpar, just normal stuff. Probably outsourced (meaning from a regular retail store) The coffee art on the latte was cool but the drink was alright. I think the coffee overall is alright. The drip coffee was good, that was closer to a 3.5 as well. for the price, this is great. Though for a few more bucks, you could go to Dollop that's near by and spend $10 maybe for 2 pour overs that taste amazing. 3/5 for taste, quality, and vibe 4/5 if price is a big concern (you won't find cheaper prices probably than here and the coffee is good for the price) We review lots of coffee shops and care more about quality. Since there's no pour over of any sort, we immediately go down to 4. Then being a 3 for us means the vibe and/or quality wasn't the best. It's a good value place though and for those who want to spend less than $5, this is your spot. read more

This is my local cafe walking distance from me. Theres nothing I don't love about this place. The service is always so kind and somehow ends up cracking me up because no matter who it is it feels like talking to an old friend. The environment of the place feels cozy with a bookshelf area, and board games available, little corners if you want some privacy and separation from the larger area, and outdoor patio where you regularly see friends gathered and catching up. It feels like a real community gathering place and I love that. And their freshly baked goods are so yummy!! read more

My first stop on my very mini excursion to Evanston was to Brothers K. I wanted to take advantage of the warmish (36 degrees) weather and sit outside reading and sipping a good latte. Fortunately they have several tables outside (no indoor patronage during pandemic). I was lucky to find pay parking on Main Street, no free parking around here. Upon entering I could see that social distancing is enforced, baristas and customers are masked. I ordered a small latte with oat milk and a bit of sugar free hazelnut syrup. I was very pleased that the barista didn't add too much syrup. While my drink was being made I was chatted up about what book I was reading. I really appreciate the conversation, love a personal connection. My coffee was the right temp, the right price ($4.50 with tip), and tasted quite good. I believe they use 2 local roasteries but don't quote me on that. read more

This is my favorite coffee place on the north side/Evanston. Good prices compared to others like Sol Cafe. Outdoor seating. I only wish the inside seating was more comfortable but long gone are the coffee shops with couches and lounge chairs. oh! And they have Bennison's baked goods. read more

This coffee house reminds me of the pre Starbucks days. Sized small medium and large. Simple decor but comfortable. There are small tables and only a few large ones. Ceilings are high so volume can become loud enough to make conversation of more than 4 people difficult. Really has that 80's vibe. Large windows allow natural light so gives comfortable airy appeal. The coffee here is good, and the layout is nice. Most of the staff are quite friendly. However, it's in serious need of an upgrade. The bathrooms are quite dirty, the bathroom doors have stains everywhere and the place really needs cleaning up and painting. The internet is woeful too, and when I have complained, they really don't seem to care. In this day and age of remote working, they really need to provide better internet. I am so glad I found this place. It may not look like the best coffee shop in town, but it is AMAZING. They have various coffee items to choose from. However, they easily have the best chai tea and iced coffee in town. I don't know what they did especially to the Chai but it was unreal. They also have affordable prices and baked items available from local businesses. This included scones, muffins, donuts, and more! The inside is super cute and has some books and games available. They also have some nice outdoor seating available for when it is nice again outside. They also have very friendly staff and are located in a great area. This place in normal times is like walking into the set of Cheers. Everyone who works there are great. I love their staff and one of the owners Brian is a riot. John is cool too just not there much. In Covid the coffee is just as delicious. Staff just as great and weather permitting you can still sit outside. Not now because it's winter. I always bought my kids teachers gift cards there and will do so again when they get to go back to school. Go give them some love you will and look forward to going back. What's not to love? I haven't stopped by Brothers K in awhile, and I was in the area today and made the stop. On a sunny warm day, I was thrilled to be able to catch a table outside on their patio. I ordered up a vanilla latte and shared a blueberry orange scone with my hubby. My full-bodied coffee was wonderfully caffeine buzzworthy, and the scone was fresh and moist. To be honest, I'm not a fan of scones, since they are typically on the dryer side, but this one was perfect. Filled with plump whole blueberries, it made for a lovely treat. What more can I say? Cappuccino, cortado, and latte all had a weird sour taste (no not bc of milk bc we had different types).
