My husband and I stopped by after viewing the fall colors on the Spoon River Drive. As you enter, there is a large bar which on Monday at 2:30 pm still had a friendly assortment of folks doing the same thing we were doing: enjoying a beautiful fall day. Past the bar is a large dining room with fall decorations and string lights. It was spotlessly clean. My husband ordered a fish sandwich and tater-tots. I had a small tenderloin and fried cauliflower. The sandwiches were huge! And the tenderloin was still very thick and juicy. (Sometimes the tenderloin is more breading than meat, but not at the Goose Pit!). Everything was hot except of course the beer which was ice cold. Very nice end to a nice day.
