She has a focus in her eponymous eatery on healthy, organic, vegetarian and also, we hear, Italian specialties. As example of the latter, on a day when we were in to pick up take away, the savory options were individual sized frittatas. The sweet treats are also delightful. Don't miss the opportunity to try the Russian apple cake and in a small freezer case inside the store is a selection of individual sized cups of ice cream by a local maker in unique flavors. As example the browned butter with fresh corn options is outstanding. The baristas are friendly and know their stuff in making beverages to sip. LOCATION: If you know where Amaru Confections was, this is that building. A European auto repair shop bought the building and divided it so the auto shop is on one side and Amanda's on the other. She does the cooking in a kitchen created in a kiosk in the back, a site that used to be a drive through coffee place. Genius. SEATING: Our options so far have been to go, but Amanda's husband built a great deck outside the front of the store and there is seating there, some or maybe all of it with umbrellas for sun protection. A small storefront, so no seating inside. LOO: There is one. So you know when you're wondering if you should have that second cup. ACCESSIBILITY: Level in from sidewalk into shop, ample floor space, loo has accessible signage (although I've never tried it), path of travel to deck space is accessible. No accessible street parking in the area so that is a challenge. There is one ADA compliant spot in the lot behind the building that is the mechanic garage's but is usable. I was greeted by two beautiful smiles. They both were so kind even though they were closing in a bit. Nothing worse than having rude service cause I didn't know they were closing soon. I appreciate that they were sweet to me! I got myself an iced americano with sugar free vanilla with room for cream. My drink was all ready! The gal that took my order pulled the cream out for me. She told me if I needed more water or ice to let her know. Honestly, it was perfect! I did add a couple sweetner to my drink, I like it on the sweeter side. I chilled outside to absorb the surroundings, my drink and the sun. I'm so happy I got to grab a drink from this joint. It gave me a nice jolt of energy to be able to ride my bike back home. Four individuals, according to the Manager, Myra's, research, charged their order to my credit card "still inserted in their machine". Three charged their order the same day, August 19, and one charge the next day, August 20. The charges stopped only when I drove back to pick up my card. It is next to impossible for me to comprehend FOUR people saw my card inserted and never handed it to the cashier. The charges stopped only because I picked up my card. Please beware; remove your card or you could be charged fraudulently several times as well. I believe people are honest, but no recourse was offered and because of the uncertainly surrounding dishonesty of my card's use, I am now uncomfortable ever going to Java again. It is definitely worth the drive and the visit. Seating is varied but favors small groups, and does not really accommodate the digital nomad. They offer the usual coffee selections with a few specialty drinks. I had the Butter Latte. Wow! It is basically a toned down bulletproof coffee but with lots of flavor. Service is friendly and personable. Our group was greeted at the door and the staff were happy to offer recommendations. I will be going back the next time I am in Boise.

Let me start my saying that is such a beautiful shop- they have indoor and outdoor seating, and everything is comfy/cozy, and welcoming. The staff is what really made the experience amazing though. It was our first time and they were so patient and gave local favorites, and I will openly say the coffee was strong, so if you like sweeter coffee, definitely ask for only 1 shot of espresso or extra syrup. My son got a mocha and it was a little strong for his liking, so they offered to remake it. Which was so sweet of them. They were truly concerned and wanted to make sure we enjoyed everything. The banana bread and raspberry scone were delicious too. Everything was fresh, the coffee was delicious, and I would go back just for the incredible service and space. If you're near the area definitely go check them out. Such a sweet find and can't wait to go back.

On my way home, I made a specific point to stop in and give it a try. I ordered the Chunky Monkey smoothie for something out of the ordinary for me. I can honestly say that I was very happy of my choice. What an excellent flavor it had. The menu has five smoothie options where you can add boosters or proteins, and offers five Energy Drink options which appear to be plant based. They also offer a few bakery items that include bagels, scones and cinnamon rolls. Inside offers plenty of room for stay-in enjoyment if you wish to meet up with anyone. When I think of tiramisu I think of sweet and creamy. It was creamy but it did lack in the sweet department. I would have liked a little more flavor to the drink. It was a little bitter for my liking but I still drank it. I'll have to ask for extra sweet next time.
