I had a different company quote the job which included taking down the tree and removing plants in the area. I tried to cancel the job, because I wanted to hire the other company. But they showed up at my house so fast. Dylan assured me that they could pull up the plants. They took down the tree. The crew was largely unsupervised. They pulled out the plants, but left the roots. They also pulled up all of my hard wired landscaping lights. They have crazy unresponsive and so many excuses. The crew left discarded bottles and cans all over the property. I am working on filing official complaints and filling with the court, but what a pain. I don't want to do any of this. However, I do want my landscaping lights to be working again. They completely destroyed my back yard. And this job was $5,500. My mistake, paying them before I fully inspected the work. But were they quick get the money. They really took advantage of me. I strongly don't recommend hiring this company. And it really is a shame because this was easy, easy to fix. And they do need to supervise their team. And do not stand by their work. They aren't registered with the Better Business Bureau. Nor I have I found their licensing company. So not good signs.

Kris scheduled the work and called to reconfirm when he and his crew would arrive. Kris was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. The quote was reasonable and he was upfront that they would not be available until the following week due to jobs already scheduled. He answered some other questions about trees on our properly and recommendations for the future. I was able to schedule a date and they arrived as promised. They removed several dead trees, even identifying another with severe rot to be removed that was hidden by other fallen trees which would have been a problem later. They were quick, fair priced and cleaned up as if they were never here. I would definitely recommended them to others.

I requested quotes via Yelp to remove the entire tree, INCLUDING stump and received four quotes. GTG was the second to most expensive quote, but as a real estate developer, for the risk associated with taking down such a large tree, I would not hire a company that didn't have basic credentials including license, bond, and/or insurance, and was not registered with the state of MI, and in good standing. GTG provided proof of their business insurance, is registered in good standing with MI, and has a A+ BBB rating, although not registered with the BBB. This was a complicated job: tall and wide tree stretched between my parents' yard and their neighbors, touching and shifting my parents' garage, and the 6ft chain link fence separating the yards had been consumed by the tree. Mike, the owner came out to the house for an in-person estimate, and I clearly communicated our main concern being the growing trunk. He put in writing at least three times (texts and quote) that he could remove the stump. When the day came to remove the tree, his team did that work quickly, but once they got to the stump, he said they could not do it due to risk of the chain link fence ruining their saws and stump grinder. We agreed to pay less than his quote for the work ($800), but he also said he would find someone else to do the work. Two days later he emailed a quote ($1400) that was more than what he quoted for the stump removal and said they had to come the same day (a Saturday, and I was out and about) and by another company that he did not tell me the specifics for, so I couldn't research them. Ultimately, GTG could not do the work, but Mike kept trying to tell me how difficult/complicated of a job it was... my response was, "but you knew that when you came out to see the tree before you bid the job!" Mike kept making excuses but would not accept responsibility for sending a bad quote. I think he purposefully misled us to get the work, knowing that he couldn't remove the stump. So, now I have go through finding, meeting, and vetting contractors yet again, to get the stump removed. I'm getting quotes, and one is $3000, so either Mike doesn't know to to bid work, or is dishonest. Mike is very charming, and he uses that to mislead customers. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

He showed up on time and walked us through the property so we could show him what we needed done. His quote was very reasonable. He said he would show up in Tuesday. The team was an hour early and again we walked the property. The team began and was very careful not to damage anything and removed exactly what we agreed to and more. The left the overgrown yard in better shape than we could have imagined. They removed a temporary fence and placed it neatly by the deck. The foreman checked in with us to make sure the job was done to our liking. An all around reasonably price professional experience. We would highly recommend them.... Both us and our neighbors were stunned by the quick and efficient progress.
