The Burlington has more than just great coats it's got $2 PBR! Cheap beer and a good atmosphere. It's a great addition to Logan Square. The tables are a bit low and rectangular. That coupled with the lack of light makes for fun times. My friends and I knocked the table and spilled beer twice. We weren't even drunk yet. read more

4 years ago I hated everything about this place. These days it's officially one of my favorite bars in Logan Square because it's far away from obnoxious stretch of Milwaukee, and it has come to change for the better in my opinion. The bartenders and staff are the best folks to be running the place, and every time I show up I never have an issue getting served quickly. Though the lighting is still minimal and there is a "no requests" sign up near the DJ booth, I've come to realize that the Burlington is really a special spot in Logan. On the most crowded nights, it's not horrible to navigate, and the crowd has gotten much better than it used to be (as well as the bartenders). The back room where bands play is spacious and always providing rad music, serving a good spot for the music scene. The cocktails and drinks are still reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is welcoming- a much needed change from my handful of bad experiences back in the day. Keep up the rad work guys! read more

We trickled into The Burlington on a Wednesday evening and we were treated very well by the bartender. We got there early enough to grab a seat and have a conversation before the music got loud. The bartender says that it gets crowded and loud towards the evening (naturally), and we could tell by the tight feel of the place that it would get uncomfortable very quickly. I hear from others that the bar is a little pretentious on the weekends, but we don't know. read more

Definitely kind of a hole in the wall, but in the best way possible. It's also definitely a hipster bar so if that's not your scene, then don't bother. I thought the music was great, and there have been local djs both times I was there. The drinks were pretty cheap and pretty strong, so no complaints there. All in all it's worth checking out for sure! read more

mm, I dunno! here's what I like about this place: - the doorman on fridays is really sexy and nice, altho I'm not sure if he likes me or not. - good music (honestly... I never noticed the music was too loud. and my convos have been held here always just fine! it seemed normal bar volume.) - rustic dark feeling inside and availability of good beer otherwise it is an incredibly awkward space & no one dances! that part sucks. there are also a lot of lame-asses who don't like talking to people. (you're at a bar, dummy!) Plus sometimes really young teenagers seem to show up, that is less fun. but I did find a nice gentleman here one night, he was really nice & cool. I guess if the people were more friendly it'd be a lot better, but I would go to see the doorman guy any day! actually, there are 2 sexy doorman guys now that I think about it. Also a little mystery spot in the closet next door with cool drawings. Ive also smoked some good stuff in there a couple of times, both times offered to me by fellow patrons! :D A+ for that part. you know, it's a good place if you make it good. read more

Great chill vibe. Bartender made an amazing Manhattan - one that easily competed with the likes of Violet Hour or The Drawing Room's $14 variety (and it was less than $8). Granted I was here on a Tuesday night, so weekend activity remains to be seen, but I look forward to finding out. read more

The Burlington is very unassuming. From the outside you'd think it's a dive, but inside it feels like a club. The thing that makes this place great is their Burlington beer (*cough*, *cough* Spotted Cow *wink*). The night we were there they had good DJs too. Not typical dance music, but an eclectic mix of blues, old rock'n'roll, and electronic. Nice & refreshing. This place is pretty tops. I'll be back. read more

I've been here a couple of times just for the fact that its walking distance from my place.....ummmm not going back! They dont have a large variety of liquor, way too dark, and the dj sucks (note no requests). Granted the bartendar was nice but thats it! read more

I like this place. It happens to be a short walk from my house, and it's a place I feel comfortable taking any friend to. It's laidback, but stylish, good service, deLICious beers, nice fellow visitors, and easy street parking. Go with friends, a date, probably not parents, but whatevs... overall, good, friendly atmo. True that it's not close to other places, but I find it all too easy to stick around for a few hours here. Also, I'm lazy, but that's another story. read more

Fantastic place. Came here on a Sunday night for a reason I will not divulge. Crowd was pretty diverse, mostly hipsterish, but what else would you expect given the location. Music was bouncy. Great drink specials. Not a ton of beers on tap, but enough to keep everyone happy. I have to hand it to the bartender and the bar-back. Great attitude, great job. I go to The Burlington maybe once every six weeks, and it's a fine bar if I'm going to be out in the Logan Square area I am generally here or at The Whistler. It can get really really crowded on the weekends but drinks are cheap and everyone is nice so it's not a huge deal. You'll probably dislike this place if you hate hipsters, but plenty of decidedly non-hipster types are always here. Music is definitely the weakest link here, more often than not is truely horrific, though Soul night (first thursday of the month) makes up for it mostly. read more

Also dig the red light in the potty. And the low tables aren't so bad - it makes it easier to lean in close to the people you're trying to talk to over the music. The bartenders are nice when it's early and they have time to chat. But it's small and dark and... I don't have any idea why you'd come all the way out here unless you live nearby. I recently moved over into the Logan Square area and the Burlington has quickly become the go to bar for me and my friends. Yes, its dark. Yes, its hipster. BUT they have the secret house beer, and a boy from Wisconsin wants his cow once and a while. Women actually hang out here which helps to create a nice mix of people. Prices are reasonable, the DJs are pretty good, I would prefer a juke box and some rock music. If you are an LP trixie or are super ultra pretentious in your bar tastes, this may not be the place for you. read more

The few times I've been to The Burlington, I've had a good time. Haven't got an uber-hipster vibe, but I've only gone when my friends or people in the IDM electronic scene were playing/DJing. It's never too crowded, always room for a few seats, but only a few as it's never been sparse/dead either. It's got a kitschy vibe with the booths, one wall with forest wallpaper, and just the overall feel too. Good for being a bar that is beyond just a bar, with the music and DJs that I've seen. And I have to say, the photo of the boombox in the bathrooms is great because that stood out for me immediately too - you go from a chilled bar atmosphere with some nice grooves going, to a red-lit bathroom with a boombox blasting soft rock or 80s music and the moment you step out of that world back to the bar... it's definitely a disjoint feeling. But equally amusing. read more

I went there to see my friend's band. Caught some others while I was there. Intimate little room for the live music. Kinda like Schubas crossed with a basement. Dimly lit both in the bar and the music room. Nice selection of beer if you drink the stuff. No wine though :(. Good sound for the band. Overall pleasant experience. read more

I want to like this place more. Logan square is dying for something other than Dunlay's and Whirlaway. The woman at Whirlaway is great, but the patrons are bastards. It is so dark and loud. Why does it have to be so dark and loud? I couldn't even yell loud enough. The employees are nice though and the cheapness of it is good. Not good seating, but at least bars are moving in to the area. read more

Nice chill atmosphere. When we walked in, they dimmed the lights and turned off the music so the regulars could watch Boardwalk Empire. There was something awesome about watching a show with All Capone and prohibition in a Chicago bar that I couldn't get enough of. When the show ended, the dj-ing resumed and a band started walking in to set up. We asked what type of music they were and we were told punk. We paid the $5 cover to check it out, but promptly left a while later. Not our shtick, but it was interesting. It would have helped if the vocals weren't blown out, but I'd be down to check out a different show there. read more

Nice little space. Drinks are pretty reasonable, staff is friendly, and they host some really good music on occasion. If I lived closer I'd probably go to just drink, but as is I will definitely go anytime they are playing music I want to hear. read more

last week at the Burlington the bartender told my friend he would only serve us if my friend tipped on the round. we searched the bartender's face for signs of sarcasm but to no avail. it made absolutely no since as we had only been there for one round of shots and beers for which i had paid and tipped well on. it's 3 PBRs dude! that's all my friend requested and you didn't even give him a chance to lay down the tip... and we're in your bar at least once every week. well never again, that's for damn sure. read more

One of new type of bar that has been springing up recently, which I will go ahead a make up a word - the Neo-Dive. A bar that strives for that dive feel, but is much too nice inside and well maintained (and usually to expensive) to qualify. Burlington is of the dark and long-but-thin variety. When busy this results in a crush of people. They spin quite good tunes, and have an interesting website. On the night I went, they cut a free PBR special in half 8:30-10:30 turned into 8:30-9:30. This was lame, lamer still was that they still were selling PBR for $2 after the special was over. I'm not sure if the Bar or the Promoters of the party (Modular) were to blame. I would understand if they ran out, but cutting it short just to get their $2 was a bit whack. I consider that isolated though. If $2 PBRs are the norm it helps this place's case out a bit. Other drinks were a bit on the pricey side. The house brew, was light and sweet, but very good and very drinkable, $4 a pint. I'm glad this bar is in the neighborhood though, if only as a beachhead. This place gets 3 stars for my first experience here, and as always I will edit this if warrented in the future. read more

i love the atmosphere of this bar. it's just a classic little joint with dark wood, low lighting, candles, stained glass windows etc. it's a comforting bar on uncrowded nights and a comfortable bar for music and art events. my friend used to host an indiepop music night here, so props to them for playing decent music. there's also a more than decent beer and cocktail selection (though it's more of a beer place than a cocktail place.) read more

Great dive bar. Good prices. Always Malort. I first went in the winter a few years ago and it had kind of a winter cabin vibe to it, dark. Bartenders are solid. They have a good variety of music/DJ nights. There's a small venue in the back for shows. A bit out of the way if you are trying to take the train. But I like that it's not on a busy strip of bars. read more
