Sub par food, service and general disdain for potential customers isn't a good luck for your business. I come in with my friend and we get this look like- these skinny boys can't hold down a steak. Well, the attitude is even worse, waited for several minutes to be seated. They had a whole back section that was unhoused and waiters just walking right passed us. They clearly didn't want our business, so we just ordered a chicken bucket to go. Flavorless cold chicken, would've been better off flushing $40 down the drain. It was a blessing in disguise. Eating here was a weird experience. I don't ordinarily eat in Kosher restaurants (outside of Israel). I had a visitor that wanted a kosher meat dining experience. The best description I can provide is as follows: imagine eating in an Israeli grill restaurant with mostly US side dishes (mashed potatoes, broccoli, string beans), situated in a beer garden environment, with dressed up waiters who have no idea how to provide service. Our waitress began be suggesting the two of us get the "megagrill" (the $290 mixed grill combo). A little pushy! They forgot twice to bring the pita that came with the lamb, hummus, tahina appetizer (twice). There were clumsy. The prices are ridiculous. The 24 dollar onion rings come with 7 onion rings--more than the 3 dollar per ring. The lamb chops are 110 dollars for 4 chops. That said the food was good. Each of the seven onion rings were crispy (although the sauces served them were the weakest offering--no flavor). The pita, the schoug, the lamb appetizer and the chops were well seasoned and properly prepared. The taboulet was great. The pita was fresh and warm (when I finally got some). It was legit pita and not the super thin tasteless stuff you usually get in the states. If you are eating with family its nice to bring a plate of sliced watermelon to the table. It was interesting to see families sitting there eating the watermelon "platter" which I think was $16, smoking cigarettes, several bottles of liquor on the table, vigorous conversation in Arabic going. It was like being in someone's backyard (except for shelling out 250 for two appetizers and a main dish). I wish they would have some more of the pickled vegetable and salads you get in Israel. I would definitely go again if I had a guest that wanted Kosher (and was buying). Take the bad service with a grain of salt and ask for what you want (a few times if needed). read more

If you keep kosher and live in Deal NJ, you've basically got two options for meat sit-down restaurants, and this one is worth checking out. They do steak really well, and for the mains we were able to split two large 20-24 oz cowboy and Delmonico steaks across four people. Both were bone-in, and we had to send the Delmonico back as it was a bit too red for us (we asked for medium). However, they were both very good cuts, tons of marbling and cooked with a nice sear. With any sit down kosher restaurant in the area, 20% gratuity is included, regardless of service quality. This place is also BYOB, so you can at least drink while you wait (they do not have a liquor license). The service was about average speed on a busy Thursday night when the entire outdoor area was full. Felt like guests were waiting for a long time for their food, but the servers were really nice - it's just that there were probably not enough of them. There's no defined drink menu, and there should be, at least for non alcoholic drinks. There's also not a single protein item for a vegetarian or pescetarian. Tuna steak? Nope. Salmon? Nope. Veggie burger? Nope. Also, while the salads were excellent, the apps were just about average and too expensive for what they are. Where are the good Steakhouse sides we crave? Brussels sprouts? They need work in this area. Total came out to about $200 a couple, without liquor, which I feel was a lot, considering the ambiance was literally a New Jersey Transit railroad track. All in all, it was a good experience, just be prepared to temper your expectations a bit. read more

People were telling me that they had gotten a new chef, and the entire menu has been overhauled, so I was convinced they deserved another chance. WOW! What a difference indeed. The menu did change along with the quality and so did the service. My wife and I decided to come out on our anniversary for a celebratory dinner. I ordered the bourbon chicken poppers, Delmonico 26oz steak and truffle fries and my wife got the ribs. The Steak was absolutely done to perfection. (So glad they got this new chef!) I ordered mine medium and that precisely what I got. Great improvement. The Bourbon chicken was a dark meat chicken battered and fried and tossed in a house bourbon sauce. Very nice flavor and very juicy chicken. My wife's ribs were fall off the bone soft and incredible! We're we're told that they start cooking it at 10AM and they only open at about 5PM. Very flavorful and a lot of meat! The chef (Ouri) came around to some tables including ours and was very nice and friendly. The manager did the same. I hate writing negative reviews and it's worth giving some restaurants a second chance, especially when they make great changes. FYI, the restaurant is BYOB, but the wine and alcohol must meet the kosher standards held at the restaurant, call ahead and they can tell you or there is a liquor store next door that can accommodate. read more

Went there with my GF last evening. the steaks were good, the hummus and lamb appetizer was delicious. Our biggest complaint was with the service. We came just past 7 for a 7pm reservation and there was no one there to great us. It took 5 - 10 minutes for someone to seat us. He was very gracious when we finally caught his attention. The waiter took our order fairly quickly, the appetizer came our fast and our steaks came our relatively quickly as well. A we were done with our meal, it took 30 - 40 minutes for the waiter to come over. There is a fine line between being over attentive and under attentive, and there were only 2 waiters there but it would have been nice for someone to come over at least once to see how things were. The prices for a Kosher Steakhouse were okay, the ambiance could be better (lower lighting). read more

They are new on Uber Eats so we figured we would try it. We ordered a burger combo, onion rings, and fried zucchini- $50. They called to inform us they didn't it have onion rings and they replaced it with the bourbon chicken appetizer. The burger mediocre at best- side of coleslaw was missing. The fried zucchini was very tasty but there were 8 or 9 tiny pieces for $12! There should have been double or triple that portion for that price. The food is astonishingly expensive, at least to me. I get that kosher food is more expensive but i had a $30.00 burger with fries. Most entrees are $50-$80 each. Jaw dropping. They put tap water in their own bottles, call it soda stream (it isn't carbonated) and charge $3.00 per refillable bottle. To me, this makes them crooks. So someone orders a $60 entree. It comes with sweet potato. They ask for mashed as they heard another person got mashed with their entree. Sorry, the chef only allows sweet potato with the entree. No substitution for mashed. Let me start by saying that the service though slow was super friendly. But from being seated to food on table total time was 40 minutes. and we are talking appetizers here. I ordered the onion rings and the ground beef stuffed fried ravioli. the onion rings were drowning in their own oil so those were not eaten though I was truly looking forward to some homemade onion rings but the stuffed ravioli were amazing ! They were fried to perfection and the beef stuffing had a delightful spicy kick to them that was truly unexpected . for my main dish i got an order of lollipop steak cooked to a medium perfection seared beautifully on the outside . Though it's presentation with wilted baby arugula left much to be desired, the taste was all there. I noticed that they also threw in some baby arugula underneath my ravioli which seemed unnecessary . As Chef Ramsay states , never put something on a plate if it is not meant to be eaten . the outdoor ambience as the sunset was beautiful but once in the dark with the spotlights on I felt like I was in some sort of prison . Not a very romantic feeling. No candles no flames just orange and florescent spotlights . and just in case you need to tell somebody what table you're sitting on you cannot miss the giant table numbers . I felt like I was at a wedding, not an upper class restaurant. Waiters and waitresses should know the POS system and table arrangements without the need of tacky table numbers. Not that it helped. All in all the experience was a pleasant one and I look forward to returning . The couple next to me had chipotle sliders that I will attempt to conquer on my next visit. Went to Butcher's for Mother's Day. Hade the Fatush salad for appetizer. Enough to share with 2 others. Didn't get other appetizers or desserts, which looked good, but thought the main course we ordered would be very filling. Had the rib eye,15oz and sides of potato, and green beans. They forgot to put up the retiring partners steak, they brought out the wrong sides and the onion rings (which were described as large homemade onion rings) looked and tasted like the frozen onion rings from a fast food place. We went here to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere is very nice, with a fireplace. Music was a little too loud, but when I asked them to lower it they did. The food was amazing. Wife order dinner on Grubhub. We get an order confirmation and head over. This would've been the first time we tried this place. I can't comment on the food or service since we didn't actually even tried the food. This review is more on the inconvenience of driving all the way over there and they didn't even know we placed the online order. The hostess chuckled when I mentioned Grubhub. She said she didn't know what I was talking about. I look at the front door and there's a big sign that says Grubhub. The manager called the owner and they were completely confused. If you participate with Grubhub then get your act together. Saying that it's "Down on our end" is not an excuse. We had to request pita bread. Then the entrees! Yikes. The 5 entrees came out separately approximately 20 minutes apart from first to last. The steak was fatty and the chicken dry. Then came dessert. They had 2 choices - 2 cakes that were both stale. We ordered tea and was told they couldn't make it because they were too busy in the kitchen (3 tables were occupied.) Are you kidding me?! We asked for the manager. He came over and told us that he couldn't get us tea or remove the cost of the dessert because that wasn't his job. I asked what his job was exactly. Food was sitting out in the heat, bugs were all over the place, and the kitchen grease was dumped all over the parking lot and back area. The garbage was overflowing from the back of the restaurant. When I walked in and saw the meat and sides on display in the glass case, I knew I had to get out of there. Some of the meats were off color and the sides weren't properly wrapped. I love steak. Good steak. Finding good kosher steak is at times a challenge. Enter the butcher's steakhouse and problem solved. But seriously now, we were down at the jersey shore and were looking for a place to round off our day. Found this truly unique place with a very large outdoor seating area surrounded by lovely tiki torches. The staff was super friendly and the food divine. Luckily we came early enough as there was a spot outside. We ordered an appetizer sampler (5 cold salads, humus, tahini, babaganush etc) which came with a basket of pita bread. The salads were delicious. For dinner we ordered the prime rib, lamb chops, and Delmonico steak. All entrees came with a choice of side and delightfully grilled vegetables. The meats were all cooked exactly as we asked and the vegetables were a perfect accompaniment to the meal. BYOB we bought a really delicious bottle of wine next door and enjoyed a truly delicious meal. Wait staff came around several times asking if everything was to our liking and was just generally attentive. I cannot comment on the desserts since we always fill up on the huge portions and never seem to have enough room for that. Maybe on our next visit. We have been back several times since finding this gem and I just felt compelled to write a review. A perfect experience each and every time. This was an extremely disappointing experience. As a business owner I usually take up my grievance's directly with the owner or manager of the restaurant. Since I tried with the manager and nothing was done I thought it best to voice my concern. First upon entering the restaurant I advised the manager/maitre d' of my reservations for a party of four. He didn't have it.... problem one.... considering I spoke to a young lady earlier in the day to confirm....not that it even mattered since there was plenty of room. Upon being seated and my party ordering our food. There was considerable wait for appetizers ......(45 min.) ok maybe understandable but then another (50 min.) until we received our entree's and then only three when we where a party of four! Maybe another oversight but hey does it take 25 minutes to bring out the missing entree. Ok I'm not done yet..... obviously my wife is pissed that she has nothing to eat making everyone at the table uneasy.....Then we where unable to get the check and pay. I actually asked twice for the check and upon receiving said check my server disappeared for ten minutes so I was forced to go to the front counter to pay for my utterly disappointing experience. After explaining the situation to manager what happens........ Nothing absolutely..... Nothing....oh just sorry......I don't mind paying for a good meal and I absolutely don't expect nothing free....but $250.00 dinners with no alcohol terrible service and a included 20 percent gratuity......
