They welcomed us and gave me and my american friends advice on what to do in Ireland for the weekend. They even ripped open two cake boxes to show us their beautiful creations and woo us. We bought an apple pie. And some tomato bread. To be quite honest, it was my first pie ever, and maybe I'm not a pie person but the apples were really not sweet but a bit sour. But the tomato bread was so delicious! I know this bakery is good though so definitely worth a visit!

The children's chicken meals were served by the company uncooked (actually raw). This caused great stress for the parents at our event and we had to follow up for the next few days to make sure none of the children were sick. Sophie blamed the serving girls provided by her (Apetite catering) despite the fact they had followed her instructions. No labelling or prior notification was given that the chicken was raw and needed to be cooked. The instructions given were that the chicken had already been pre-cooked and required heating only. Having raw chicken mixed with other cooked food was really disgraceful. As for the rest of the food it was just average. Food was tepid & salad soggy. This company is unprofessional and we would not recommend them at all. They ruined our event.

Because every single thing about it is nice. The food, the service, the fact that it hasn't turned into a big shop selling crap and has rather stayed as a small shop selling good things. I realise at this point that I should probably talk about the food but frankly that's been already so I won't bother. What I will say is that they have the best, most incredibly phenomenal chocolate brownies that the world has ever known. Also the coffee they sell is good stuff too! On another note the staff are perfectly wonderful. They are friendly, they are helpful and they actually seem to enjoy working there. Having said that, if I got to sit with chocolate brownies all day I'm fairly sure I'd enjoy it too :) You might wonder why I only gave 4 stars. The answer is that they don't appear to do macaroons any more, or at least they didn't the last time I went in. A small thing but a thing nonetheless.

The beef briskets and beef tripes were braised thoroughly, super tender, rich flavor of spices and seasoning, while the texture of respective parts remained spot-on. The broth base also had great flavor. Portion size was good for the price. For the wontons, they were a bit smaller than the ones I had in another Cantonese place, and they seemed to have small or no shrimp inside, but the intense flavor of minced pork and the bouncy texture suggested the stuffing was of great quality, and the wrap was thin enough to melt in the mouth while also resilient enough to keep the wonton intact. My only wish would be that the noodles would be less runny and bouncier. But overall, I was very satisfied with this place.

Roly's is a Ballsbridge institution and with the cafe they have struck gold. It's a lot more casual than the bistro and great for breakfast. They also do lunch and dinner but it's pretty busy then and the cafe isn't that big. You will generally find a lot of suits in the cafe at lunchtime as it's very popular with the people from the surrounding offices. They do have nice breads and takeout food as well, but if you can spare half an hour and can get a table, I would go for one of their cakes and a nice cup of coffee.

The scone was light and fluffy and paired well with the butter and jam they give you. My only complaint was that I would have liked a larger cup of jam for my scone but only because it was so good!
