The drive is beautiful, especially on a sunny day in the fall. The leaves are incredible. As you're driving winding roads along Wills Creek, Hillbilly Haven pops out of nowhere. You'll see plenty of pick-up trucks, four-wheelers and side-by-sides. What you get: is an absolutely quintessential dark, country, dive bar. Beloved by locals, they have pool tables, a small live music and dance area inside and a really nice outside area in the back. You'll meet some of the nicest people. Just remember-it is a local country bar and when in Rome... Here's the big draw-oh my goodness, the food! People come from miles away to get take-out. The wings are perfectly seasoned no matter the sauce/rub, juicy but crisp. The Hillbilly Deluxe burger puts a Big Mac to shame. It is a very different business model than their usual retail spots in shopping centers. We ordered some of their usual slushees: the adult orange push-up and adult chocolate milk. Just like at their other locations they can add an additional shot to these for additional flavors beyond just the base flavor (and a little extra kick). A new drink that some of our group ordered was the hammered duck. It is a combination of lemonade and snozzberry moonshine with a rubber duck floating on top. It is a nice summer drink and very photogenic! As far as food goes, the only thing we ordered was the salmon dip. It was also very good and served with warm pitas and tortilla chips.
