Featuring beautiful views of the hills, each of the Casitas have their own personality. Sized for different needs, each Casita is well designed for comfort with well selected furnishings and finishes. Most have outdoor fireplaces, which are wonderful for gathering around on a chilly evening. All of the Casitas are very comfortable. However, for couples, I would highly recommend springing extra for the very private "Pauline" Casita. Located at the top of the hilltop, the Pauline features a large soaking tub and double shower. The views are spectacular! If the Pauline is booked up, there are others that are comparable. Recently, Hill Country Casitas added a large pool and spa, which are great for warm months. Other amenities include a large outdoor pavilion, a retreat center, firepit, and outdoor game area. Hill Country Casitas is also adjacent to the wonderful Hawk Shadow winery which we recommend for the tastings which are held on an outdoor terrace overlooking the canyon. If you are a "dog person", Hill Country Casitas also is very "dog friendly". I can't recommend it more highly for couples, family get togethers, wedding celebrations, or corporate retreats. First of all, the 'cabin' was a stone house that was as cute as it could be. The owners must either have a really good sense of style or they used a professional decorator. The appointments and style in the cabin were first very attractive. This place not only had all the amenities a first class hotel would have, it had some very, very nice touches added, such as rockers on the porch draped with Mexican blankets in front of the outdoor fireplace, with a stack of wood ready to burn. The tiled shower had a shower head on each side wall, so two people could easily shower together and have plenty of room. The bathroom was equipped with lots of plush towels, plush rugs, a hair dryer, all the soaps and lotions, and a black washcloth for makeup removal. The kitchen was fully equipped, including ground coffee in the canister ready for the coffee pot. The cabin was immaculate too. Our location was quiet and restful, yet 20 minutes from two cute towns. I was pleased and impressed, and would highly recommend this retreat.

From the huge living room with a view of Lake Travis, to the big comfy bed, to the jacuzzi-style tub in the bathroom, we felt like we were staying at a 5-star hotel. The staff and manager were incredibly friendly and helpful and laid back! I could only find a few issues with the villa. There were hairs in our tub, so I cleaned it myself prior to my wife and I using it (which I didn't mind doing, as I am not snobby or beneath a little cleaning). Also, the bathroom window has no blinds or curtain, so when other guests decide to venture down to our patio, we have to be lucky not to be showering or standing nude at the time that they do. However, these couple little things are not enough to make me lower my rating of the place! Overall, the villa is amazing! A nice place to have that luxury feeling while being the perfect place to relax! I HIGHLY recommend this place for romantic getaways or for relaxation getaways. My wife and I would love to go again sometime for another mini romantic getaway from the kids.

Tells us there is a major water leak, causing alot of damage and he has to cancel the reservation because they can't stop the leak. He told us it happened the night before. Then, I come home and see where another customer left a review on Hotels.com ON THE VERY DATES WE WERE TO BE THERE! He rented it out to SOMEONE ELSE!!!! Shady!!! I read previous reviews that they did this! We had to find a hotel to stay in with less than an hour before check-in! We wanted to spend our 10 YEAR anniversary on the lake. Otherwise there are much better hotels in downtown Houston. Don't waste your time, just go ahead and book somewhere else!

this property and concept is so absolutely special it's hard to put into words. we stayed in Cabin…read moreAnna and wowwww! leslie greeted us when we got there and gave us the rundown on everything we needed to know. she was welcoming and kind and extremely responsive in text with any questions we had - you can tell she takes a lot of pride in what they've come up with here. it was storming when we got there, but we peeled back the wood walls and enjoyed sitting under the rain in the glass. when the rain stopped, we fully opened the glass walls, soaked in the bath, and took in the full moon. we were warmed by the in-house fire pit and my husband had a kick out of chopping the wood. the house was stocked with everything we needed, but there's an adorable mercantile store with snacks, souvenirs, and "i wish we had..." items. we cooked most of our meals on site and dined al fresco - our favorite was using the pizza oven inside the grill. i was worried we would be fighting bugs, but we hardly ever saw any. we cherished drinking our morning coffee in the private hot tub and on the last day the husband finally got the courage to cold plunge after sitting in the sauna - he LOVED it and wished he had done it sooner. we spent a couple hours shopping in "downtown" Dripping Springs (Starrs on Mercer and Old Vintage) and found live music and local beers at the Barber Shop bar, only about 15-20 minutes from the cabin. we hiked a few trails at the nearby Pedernales State Park (even if you're not a "hiker" the short trail to see the falls is worth it). on the drives back to the cabin, we were always greeted by the neighbors' free-roaming cows and group of goats. we meant to spend time at the gorgeous event space that has outdoor sitting areas, crafts, and games to bring back to the cabin, but we ended up spending our time drinking wine and staring up in awe at the stars and savoring the quiet. our last conversation when we were leaving was: "when can we come back???"

This caused my booking to be cancelled and I had to rebook and reverify. VERY inconvenient but everything got worked out. When you pay $900+ per night you don't want to be inconvenienced while trying to book. The Reserve is a nice community, but like all managed "premier planned" suburban areas they are very Nazi-ish with rules and enforcement. Again, when you're paying over $900 per night it's very off-putting and insulting to constantly be reminded of the rules. They treat you like you're a college kid trying to sneak and throw a frat party while you're parents are away for the weekend. Our rental even had cameras on the house that were actively being monitored (details below). VALUE: I don't normally complain about price so I won't do it here. Let's just say that this place is expensive. I voluntarily paid the money but it's a high price. HOUSE: Nice place, very clean. Premium decor - Texas modern rustic. Complimentary prosecco in the fridge upon arrival was a nice touch. Bring your own food/drinks/condiments (salt, pepper, etc.)/ice. All utensils for just about any kind of cooking and everything needed to have nice dinner parties were there. We had an issue with POOL: I did a cabana rental for 2 days at $50 per day. Rentals include a complimentary pitcher of beer or margarita per day. Pool was nice and in good shape. Lazy river, kids pool and infinity pool as well as swim up bar and snack bar are all part of the pool. You aren't allowed to bring any alcoholic beverages, food, or coolers into the pool area. They did allow us to bring an individual cup or water bottle. They will search your bags for food/alchohol/etc. if you bring large bags. LOCATION: Be prepared to drive 40 minutes to anywhere. There's enough restaurants, entertainment, etc. 45 minutes away. All-in-all this was a good place to stay. The main reason this is not a 5-Star review is because I was contacted by TurnKey with a threatening call because the management/owner were watching us on the Arlo/Netgear camera (Nazi-ish) on the back patio (there's a camera on the front porch and back patio) and thought that one of my guests was on the back patio smoking. None of us are smokers and it was insulting for them to accuse us of smoking (I'll say it again for emphasis... when you're paying over $900 per night).

When you are driving out there it feels like it is kind of in the middle of nowhere and then all of a sudden this paradise appears. We spent time at the marina. This was the nicest marina I have seen in the Austin area for sure! I could tell everything is taken care of with the utmost care possible. The marina is treated somehow as well so that the cobwebs and spiders don't take over your boat and slip area, which is super nice and convenient. There is also room for outdoor kitchens and patio furniture at the front of each slip. People have grills and stuff out there too. I gathered that it is a thing to just hang out at your slip area and cook out with your friends and family and you may or may not even take the boat out. After we took the boat out and came back in we road the golf cart up to the lazy river. This is where it really started to feel like a resort for me. They have a decent sized lazy river that is so much fun! There is a swim up bar on one side and the bar opens to the deck area on the other side. There are plenty of tables to sit at and chase lounge chairs in the sun and shaded for total comfort and relaxing. I had a few perfectly made margaritas from the bar and had a wonderful time hanging out with my family and floating the lazy river! The Reserve property is actually pretty huge! They also have cabins you can rent out, tennis courts and a park area. There is lots of places to hike around as well. This would be the perfect family get away spot and it is not too far from other cool outdoor things like Krause Springs, Hamilton Pool Park and of course Lake Travis!

Highly recommend the Jittery Biscuit for the biscuits and gravy. They also have great "energy" drinks! We had dinner at Proof and Cooper, fantastic!
