They happened to have all the ingredients ready in-store, so I was able to pick it up just three hours later. The shop itself is quite small, with only about three tables for customers to sit and enjoy their cakes and coffee. They also offer individual cheesecakes, individual size chiffon cakes, muffins and cookies. The lychee chiffon cake was a big hit. The cream was light and not greasy at all, and the lychee flavor was very fragrant. There were even several pieces of real lychee fruit inside. The staff mentioned this was their most popular dessert cake. Highly recommended! I'd love to come back next time to try other desserts and their coffee. Definitely recommend this place.

I appreciate the labour that goes into making crepe cakes and also the rarity of durian as an ingredient but I was still surprised that a single slice of the durian crepe cake was $14. I also would have liked some tea to go with my cake but they only sell brewed tea in pots which are about $10 each. It looked like legit tea but I didn't want to commit to the whole pot. The fruits were soft. Not a ripe-soft. More like old fruit soft. On the plus side, they still use fresh whipped cream, and their 2-bite size chocolate cake is as yummy as ever.

Gary's only allows to order the fresh mango cakes up to one week ahead to ensure they have enough ripe mangos, which I admire their dedication. We ordered the 6 inch cake for 9 people (7 adults and 2 kids) and everyone got a thin to average slice. The cake is definitely prettier than the other fresh mango cakes on the market, has a lot more mangos that are perfectly ripe and sweet, there is less wipped cream, and the sponge cake is softer. The family agreed that Gary's has the best fresh mango cake but at $69 for a 6 inch cake, versus $43 for a 6 inch mango cake from Saint Germaine, a cake from Gary's is definitely a treat and for special occasions. Is Gary's worth the premium price? I think so but not everyone in my family agreed. One thing to note: Gary's do offer cake in a jar that's $8.50 each. When we went, they had a BOGO deal with the mango cake jars. My nephew asked my sister to buy the BOGO deal knowing that the 6 inch cake was not going to be enough, as the kids like having a second slice of cake.

The staff also informed me that their chef change out the menu regularly based on occasion or season. So you won't be getting the same menu every time!
