When we entered the store, the employee who was by the door glared at us and made us feel unwelcome. There were four women working behind the counter. We went to the counter and asked for the Green Tea Mousse cake. One of the women behind the counter told us that it would not be ready until 6pm (we were there around 3pm). Then we asked for the Taro cake. Another woman told us that the cake was sold an hour ago. Then they tried hard to sell us the Chocolate Cake and the Mango Pudding Cake but we told them we wanted the Chestnut cake. Then the woman asked me if I wanted the 'Happy Birthday' chocolate piece on top of the cake. I said, "No, thanks." Then she insisted unclearly, and I insisted that I did not want the chocolate piece. We went to get the Chicken pie, Curry Beef Puff Pastry, Paper Cup Sponge Cake, and the Cheese Sausage Bun from the shelf. The woman behind the counter told me to put the items on the counter when I was walking towards the counter. She did not need to tell me that because I was going to do that obviously. Then the cashier told us the total amount of purchase in English. It was weird because we were speaking Cantonese all along. The woman asked us if we needed a bag and we said no. Then she said she could put the purchases for us into our bag. It was unusual for them to do that since there were only four items. Also, her co-worker who stood behind us said, "Sorry, we did not serve you well." It was odd for her to say that. They tried to make us look bad (as if we were very demanding). If they really felt bad, they could simply give us a VIP card instead of making unnecessary gestures and saying meaningless words. The chestnut paste in the Chestnut cake was tasteless, and the sponge cake layers and the cream were not sweet at all - they tasted like flour. The cake did not taste like a cake and we discarded half of it. Also, they ruined the cream of the side of the cake as shown in the photos. They should be careful when handling cakes because cakes are for special occasions.

We were craving about cheese cake. We happened to be nearby and Yelp pointed me to this place. B got the mango cheese cake and I got the Chestnut Chocolate Roll. I tried B's mango cheese cake and it was ok. The cheese flavor wasn't very strong. Neither was the mango flavor either. My chestnut chocolate roll was nothing special. It was a good size. For the price we paid and the quality. I do not think it was worth it. The cake is freshly made but just the flavor is somewhat not as wow as some cake places I had in the past. They do have a good selections of cakes to choose from. The bakery is somewhat small and can only fit so many people in the store at any given time. Free parking is available in the mall.

This is now my go-to place for asian cakes. Its delicious, with different than usual choices like the taro and chocolate chestnut (my favourites). The cakes are light and fluffy, with not TOO much whipped cream but a good amount of the filling they promise. Mangoes in the mango cake were very fresh and my family really enjoyed black sesame (I have a slight allergy). Extremely nice service too with friendly ladies that seem to actually care about your business.

The birthday posts will stop I swear Never in my life have I ever tried taro cake, let alone for it to be this stunning. For my birthday a couple of months back, my coworkers ended up surprising me with this stunning taro cake and I was absolutely shook with how amazing it looked and how delicious it was. * The cake wasn't too sweet but it was sweet enough from the taro and fruits. Despite the whipped cream and the colourful cake it wasn't as sweet as I thought it was which was nice. * There was a generous layer of taro inside the cake and the cake sponge was very nice and moist. It was also very fresh and delicious. * 10/10 ~ I really liked the taro paste and the cake it was super delicious.

Friday dessert treat -Napoleon Price: ok Food quality: excellent, love the flick textures and very tasteful, not too sweet, a great afternoon tea dessert!!!! Highly recommend

I have tried mango cakes from several places and have to say this one is probably the best in terms of freshness and flavor. They don't go light on mangos either. The cake is a bit on the expensive side, but I'll pay it again because it is very good. The one thing I love about Chinese bakery cakes is the sweetness doesn't overpower the cake. The cake itself was moist, bouncy and was super light. Why would you buy a cake from grocery store with super sweet icing and really doesn't taste good. This option is by far a better choice. Highly recommend. They have an array of different cakes and I can't imagine them being less than stellar.

My relatives frequent this dessert bakery and over the years I have been fortunate to be on the receiving end of many of their boxed delicacies. They have almond puffs (perfectly baked and never burnt), sesame crackers, and choco-chip cookies, but their walnut cookies are out of this world. Each boxed package comes with plenty to share. I'm not much of a cake guy, but the mango cake is light and fresh with lots of whipped icing which is pretty standard for chinese cakes. Confusing because of the French name, n'est-ce pas? Their product and packaging feels really high end and I had always wished that Seattle had something equal. Keke and Regent are there but not nearly the high quality of La Patisserie.

This Asian bakery opened about a month ago and I finally went in today to give them a try! We bought a piece of fresh mango cake and some egg tarts! I always judge a bakery by their egg tarts! If they can make their egg tart like the ones in Asian then I will definitely go back and they did a pretty good job! The shell was crispy and yet soft and the egg part of it was just perfect! Not too sweet but still has the milky taste to it - pretty close to Hong Kong! The mango cake is light and fluffy...again not overly sweet! Definitely going back. They are located in the new Walmart plaza on Alderbridge! Lots of parking! One more thing, CASH only for now, not sure if they will start to have other methods of payment soon...

Decent quality asian cakes and pastries. The selection was pretty good and desserts tasted fresh. Desserts are light and not too sweet.

Tiramisu | Cheesecake…read more One Cake Boutique is easily one of my favourite cake shops. I got one of my favourite flavours, tiramisu and cheesecake, and both were absolutely on point. What I love most is their balance -- the cakes are not overly sweet, yet still rich, creamy, and full of flavour. The tiramisu is smooth and light with just the right coffee kick, while the cheesecake is velvety, indulgent, and melts in your mouth without feeling heavy. Perfect if you enjoy desserts that feel elevated and thoughtfully made, not sugar bombs. Definitely a go-to spot when I want cake that tastes as good as it looks. Best for: Not-too-sweet dessert lovers, celebrations, and cheat-day treats done right.

The cake itself was moist and bouncy. The cream was light and airy. We particularly like their mango and lychee rose cake. The mangos were ripe and sweet. The lychee rose cake had chucks of lychee in between the cake layers with a subtle hint of rose petal that complimented well with the lychee. Everything was scrumptious and it definitely caters to an Asian palate as it wasn't too sweet but just the right amount that you won't feel too heavy after devouring all 3 pieces of cakes! This is a gem and I will definitely be back for more of their delicious treats!

The interior feels relaxing and the seats were comfortable. We booked the afternoon tea ahead of time, and it was $68 per person. The set was gorgeous! The presentation had this beautiful forest vibe. There was a mix of sweet and savoury bites, including miso sablefish, chicken skewers, salmon aburi oshi and more. It turns out they have brunch as well! We were saying maybe we should come back and try their brunch next time... but we really loved the desserts and scones here, so I guess it might be afternoon tea again. I faintly remembered that there was only like one water refill at the Parq location but it's unlimited here. My friend and I were like that's a good change. Reservation: I made a reservation a few days in advance for afternoon tea. The booking process is available on their website and was very easy to navigate. Food: It was also Chinese New Year, so their afternoon tea featured some CNY-inspired savory items presented in a bamboo steamer, along with a yuan bao-shaped dessert. Both the savory and sweet selections were delicious and beautifully presented. I've compared Yandoux Patisserie with a few other afternoon tea menus, and I found that they offer more thoughtfully designed, higher-quality items such as beef tartare, salmon oshi, and truffle mushroom crostini. I especially liked that they only serve one scone, so you're not too stuffed to fully enjoy the sweet items. The staff also informed me that their chef change out the menu regularly based on occasion or season. So you won't be getting the same menu every time! Pricing: The set was $59 per person, plus tax and tip. For the quality they offer, I think it's absolutely worth it and comparable to hotel afternoon tea experiences I've had in the past. Customer Service: The staff was very attentive and friendly. They answered all of our questions and reviewed the menu with us to confirm our afternoon tea set. Once the tea set arrived, the staff explained each item and the suggested order for enjoying them. They also regularly refilled hot water in our teapot throughout the meal. Ambiance: Since it was Valentine's Day, the staff decorated the table with fresh rose petals. They even gave me a single rose stem at the end of the meal, which was such a sweet touch. The entire space is very clean, cute, and perfect for afternoon tea. Yandoux Patisserie is located in a building with a parking garage. Parking was about $1 per hour, which was very reasonable. I will definitely come back whenever I'm in town next!!

I ended up getting the Vietnamese Coffee Tiramisu cake since I thought the birthday recipient would prefer that one the most.
