It's gotten rid of all the sandwiches, including the Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich. That sucks. It's about $2 for a bag of chips. There's not much in the way of food except some cookies and pastries. Cool place to have some beers and get food. It's unique from most delis because this has slots, so it's also a gaming parlor. The rice and potatoes were both seasoned to perfection, moist, and tasty. We were both pleasantly surprised by how good everything tasted. The salad was great too. It was fresh and offset the carbs perfectly. I had the Italian dressing which had a light and refreshing taste. We ordered takeout and ate the food a few hours later. It warmed up well at that time and the following day. The portion size is extremely generous, so there's enough food for a few meals if you tend to eat smaller meals. The restaurant is bright and comfortable. The service was fast and the gentleman that rang us out was very friendly. Both plates cost about twenty dollars, which is very reasonable for lunch. I originally learned of this place when I worked in Tinley Park a couple years ago and drove all the way from Chicago today to go there to treat myself. As usual, I was greeted with kindness by Chris, who was working the register at the time. The ambience is surreal, it provides a quiet place to enjoy your food, read, work or if you need to just reflect on life. This is one of my favorites and although they're not close to Chicago, it's worth the drive! I was a little disappointed that they no longer have my avocado rolls. The Whistle is a great place for watching games or any sports. Maybe just get better food. You can find crap tons to get but it could be too complicated for the chaotic kitchen. Crowded when we got in. It's got a few big ass TVs so you can watch tons of games going on. There's a lot of areas for tables. Along the walls were the more personal ones for couples. There's also a long bar but there was no room there. It has a lot of specials including Teeling Small Batch whiskey shots at $5 on Mondays. There's a crap ton on the menu including tacos. A lot of things to choose from. It's about $11 for the Vegetable Tacos. A great choice among the vegetarian options. These are topped with avocado, cheese but I left it off, lettuce, onions, peppers, and pico de gallo, filling stuff. Great place for hanging and being crazy.
