I have successfully completed my 5th challenge and and let me tell you, it wasn't easy. I had to make the biggest sacrifices down the stretch because of all the holiday food and my birthday was on the final week of the challenge. In total I have lost 116 lbs since my first weigh in and I am 4.8 lbs away from my goal weight. I have rolled over to a hard body challenge and I am excited and nervous. It's going to take a lot of focus and determination. The gains will be done outside the camp, since the staff and trainers are great. The diet and extra homework will fall on my shoulders. The upside is that I have a few weeks to mentally and physically prepare myself. The plan since day one has been to get to my goal weigh, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. 6 Week HardBody Challenge There is a reason why they call it a challenge. It definitely took a lot of will power, discipline and money. However, after a few weeks it started to become a rhythm of life. I would definitely would have not be able to do it without the amazing staff and amazing trainers. I have been to the Rancho location before I started coming to this location. I must say, the difference is astonishing! By that, I mean, this gym is the worst one I have ever been to. Rancho location has their stuff together. The first class I went to in the Covina location was bad. The trainers were talking to their friends most of the time, and that's okay! Just teach the class and don't just wing it. Ran him location has a set of workouts already lined up for you and the organization shows. The lack of organization shows in the Covina location. The second class was WORST! Sadly, I was hoping it would be better but the "trainer" warmed us up for 40 minutes! When I asked for him to show me how he wanted us do it because everyone looked confused he said, "you're looking at it." How is it that I could clearly see the confusion in everyone and he couldn't or simply didn't care AT ALL! IF you want a real work out go ANYWHERE else but this location. Final yelp check-in for 6 week challenge: I cannot express how grateful I am for finding this gym with such amazing instructors and staff members (shout out to Selina, Chris, Rudy, and Sarah)! From day 1, I had a team cheering me on to succeed. All the other members are so encouraging and root for your success. It's such an incredible environment. I never thought I would feel this comfortable in a gym. The 6 week program takes all the guess work out of what to do. All you have to do is put in the time and effort. It's literally fool proof! They cater to all ability levels (or in my case, nonability level). The instructors demo how to do each exercise prior to you doing them. Then they monitor you to make sure you are doing them correctly. If you are not at the level to perform them correctly and safely, then they offer you modifications to meet your needs. There is absolutely no excuse for you to not be able to perform at some level. Don't get me wrong, the program is not easy and it will push you to your limit. Within 6 weeks I cried, laughed, and cursed a lot!!! But six weeks will come and go, and it's amazing how much you can transform your body physically and mentally within such a short period of time. I have never ever felt so good about myself, both physically and mentally. I absolutely love this camp. I'm addicted and want to come workout daily! I've lost weight on my own before joining this camp, but hit a plateau. No matter how much I exercised or diet, I was not able to lose another ounce. I heard so much about this camp from different people, and I would see post on Facebook about people checking in, and all the excitement got my curiosity. I figured, what have I got to lose, weight? Exactly!!! Money? well... yeah, all gyms charge a membership fee. Time? I need to put in lots of time on myself if I want to see the results. Worse comes to worse, I don't succeed and I don't lose weight. Well, I've been on diets my whole life. I've failed on most of my diets. BUT, I learned that until you are mentally ready, nothing will work. All diets are "temporary" until you change your thinking and your life. I'm more than ready, and I'm not going to give up that easily. So, a few months back, I decided to do the "lose 20 pounds in 6 week" challenge. I lost almost 24 pounds. The weight that was stuck on my body no matter what I did. I'm working on my 2nd challenge now. It's not easy, but so doable. I have more energy than ever before. I'm stronger than I have ever been. The camp transformation in West Covina has been the best investment I have done in quite a while. The staff here are great not to mention some of the friendliest people I have meet. They are very knowledgeable about the challenges and the supplements they sell. The trainers here are the best. Their workouts are fun and tough, never a dull workout. As I end my first challenge and start my second I sit here thinking of all that I accomplished in the last 42 days. I walked in by myself scared but thirsty for change. Slightly more than a year ago, I've completed my 20lbs in 6 weeks challenge and became a member since (didn't join right after the challenge, but about 3 months after). I have been able to maintain my weight but I felt like I should kick things up a notch after a year since completing the 20lbs challenge. Therefore, I decided to take upon the 5% body fat in 6 weeks challenge. What really separates the Hard Body Challenge and 20lbs Challenge is the "homework" that you have to do besides the camp sessions. The Hard Body Challenge will allow you to eat more so you can work out more. However, having to do "homework" means that the Hard Body Challenge will be even more time consuming than the 20lbs challenge. I can go on and on about the details of what I've done to complete the challenge, but it really boils down to few things (that sound cliché but very true): 1) if you put your mind into it, you can do it; 2) remember that if it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you. Five stars because this place gets results! I want to start with the pros. Andrea and LOLO are great fitness counselors and guidance. They have daily modified workouts, for example Monday will be upper body workout, Tuesday will be only lower work out, Wednesday will be full body work out, and again it will rotate. The coaches are very professional and they change routines, they care and push you, they guide you to a successful workout. I definitely recommend the camp, you will learn a lot and can you used this workouts on your own. I participated in a 6 week boot camp challenge. Starting at almost 200 pounds I finish at 174. I was amaze and felt accomplish.I definitely feel my body looked better and I feel stronger. My experience during the six week challenge was hard at the beginning because my body was not used to all that workouts and meals that you have to follow. As I started to keep coming to classes I started to develop stamina and consistency and that help a lot towards my 20 pound goal. At the end of my last two weeks I began to panic and thought I wasn't going to make the 20 pounds because I was running out of time. I began with putting extra, busting doubles and after I did extra miles on my own. Plus my nutrition changed drastically, didn't like it but it helped so much. My last week was absolute intense, only ate tilapia and asparagus plus that extra. My final wight was 174 pounds and I feel happy and grateful with ANDREA and LOLO. Also not to mention its an amazing community environment, I feel like everyone is working toward their individual goals not competing and I really liked that. People here are very friendly and share their experience for good. parking is ok, you have to find parking on street but I personalty didn't have any problems. Signing up to this place has been one of the best decisions in my life. The camp was recommended to me by two coworkers who were about to start the six week challenge. I got tired of complaining about my weight and decided to finally do something about it. I signed up for the the challenge with zero experience. I was never the one to do any cardio or lift a weight. The team here is the best and so patient, always willing to help and correct you when needed. What I like the most about this place that I is an intense workout yet sooo simple for anyone to do. Everyone works at their own paste. Stations are set up & timed making in super easy for anyone to follow along. I've done two successful 20 lb challenges, than the 21 day cleanse, a 5% hardbody challenge, joined Team Rush Hours Elite training team, and even became a member! Then today I just finished my first alumni 15 lb challenge! I started at 152 lbs and finished at 133.7 lbs. My goal was to lose 15 lbs, instead I loss 18.3 lbs. Although this wasn't my first challenge, I have to admitt it was the hardest. Just want to thank all my West Covina Staff, AFFs, friend's, and most of all my loving family for their support and encuragement to keep pushing and living healthy!
