Oh The Camp! I love The Camp! Literally the best place I've ever worked out at and I've been to a lot of gyms and camps. So motivating and so much encouragement from others that it's hard to not get excited about working out. This was my 3rd challenge for the 20 pounds in 6 weeks and I completed it with flying colors. I'm excited to try the next challenge in January but nervous at the same time. I'll have to drop 20 more pounds and that scares me a little. Update 3... Just finished my fourth and last challenge. I am down 90+ pounds since September, in four challenges. Again, I can't recommend this program enough. The trainers and staff at the Camp Transformation Center in Hemet are awesome! They really push you to excel. Ivy and Daniel are very supportive, Brandon, Derek, Anthony, Tony, Vincent, and the rest all push to to succeed, and all the other Campers work to keep you and each other motivated to do your best. The diet is an easy one to follow. There's no complicated formulas or confusing directions. There are a limited number of protein, carb, and vegetable choices, and that's it. Eat what they tell you, "Follow the Damned Instructions" (FTDI), and you are good to go. I did my meal prep early in each challenge, and filled in as needed. This made it easy to keep up with the diet. Probably the hardest part of my challenges was eating five times a day. Being a guy who ate small amounts of high-calorie-density foods, I was not used to the volume of food that you get on the diet. If you do the five meals, you should not have to worry about being hungry on the program. You get plenty of food. During my first challenge, being out of shape and suffering from some injuries, I had trouble with keeping up in class. The trainers are all great, though, and willing to work with participants to accommodate their various issues. Now, I can lift more, run faster, and have more stamina than I've had in almost twenty years. I feel great! As I've said before, I cannot recommend this program enough. I started the camp for health reasons and it has open my eyes to eating cleaner and working out. I just completed my 6 week challenge and 20 lbs later I feel pretty good. After trying my luck on the 6 week challenge a few months ago i decided to try the hardbody challenge this time around. After much work and dedication, I successfully reached my goal at the camp once again! I been going since last year. The first time I started going I did a challenge and lost 20 pounds in 6 weeks. Thanks to the trainers and with their food guide. Right now the whole Covid they make sure all stations are kept clean and keeping distance. Following the guidance. I would recommend anyone that wants to lose weight. I have been to LA fitness and plant fitness but don't really know what to do unless I pay for a expensive trainer. But at the camp for what I pay it feels like I have a one on one trainer and unlimited classes for a great price. On top no one judges you there. I was enjoying my workouts at the Camp for the promotions 21 Day Detox. Some of the instructors were very good and nice. I gave the Camp a 3 because during my last week a new trainer by the name of Peter did one of the classes. I told him of my injuries and how I needed to be careful. He did not listen. He was condescending to how he spoke to the group. He had a bullying tone. to. He never asked if anyone had injuries he had us deadlifts. I was doing fine with 20 lbs, but he insisted that I would be okay doing 30 lbs. On my 3rd deadlift, my lower back went out. I walked out of there like a 90 year old woman. Could not continue my training at the Camp for my remaining time I had. My back is still hurting. I complained at the front desk, and no one has called me about the incident. I started at The Camp Hemet in the beginning of this year 2019. I began with the challenge and was able to complete it. It was a hard task but was fun and I'm happy I stuck through it. After the challenge I decided to stick around for a longer period. The camp Hemet is great and no other place compares to this gym. The trainers all are there for you and kick your butt each day you come. Also, the people who train here are great as well and are there for the same reason you are, to get a good workout. Since starting the camp, my self confidence is starting to come back. I lost a whopping 26lbs. on my first challenge! The camp has taught me how to manage my meals. There are so many great recipes shared among members.    The best and most rewarding experience with The Camp are the workouts.  The workouts are TOUGH, but doable.  From the trainers, the staff, members,  challengers,  everyone is extremely encouraging.   I was hesitant to start solo,  but after a few sessions I started feeling like part of the team. I'd give it zero stars if I could. I reported this place to the Better Business Bureau! Not only did they steal $304 out of my bank account, they didn't have the decency to return any of my calls or emails! I bought protein from here for $54 and they took $54, then a week later took $200 and a day after that another $104! I showed my receipt to my bank and I opened an investigation with my bank and after a while I got my money back. But never gave them permission to take more then $54 out of my account. I just completed my first challenge with the camp and love 23.4 LBS this was probably the hardest 20 lbs I have had to lose, why??? because it was done HEALTHY. they taught us how to correctly cook and prepare our food, they taught up to use portion control and most importantly they taught us to properly workout.. When I first joined The Camp back in July 2016, I was nervous and a bit apprehensive. $500 is a good bit of money to put down for a challenge. There is a reason this "gym" is consistently getting 5 stars. It is not your average gym. There are no confusing weight machines or meatheads walking around trying to show off or hit on anyone. ALL training is group classes and everyone does circuit training. They are full of people who have ALL gone through the same thing, some several times. Most everyone encourages the others and all the staff are patient, yet will challenge you, in a non-demeaning way. It is more like family than a gym membership. I was skeptical about the program when I first saw it on FB, but was satisfied with it being genuine after meeting the staff and talking it over with my wife, who also did the 6-week challenge with me and lost 25 pounds. I lost 24 pounds and completed what I set to do in the 6-weeks and have rolled it over into a membership to take a little more off and maintain what I worked so hard for. Unfortunately, there are people who don't take the program seriously and don't meet their challenge. But, I believe it is because they were not honest with themselves and cheated on the meal guidelines and/or didn't give 100% during workouts. I actually enjoyed pushing myself and I know I became stronger both physically and mentally during the process. I first explored joining The Camp back in July. I was 220 pounds, drinking too much, suffering from back pain, knee pain with my knee "going out" after sitting, depressed, and craving a change. I would literally fantasize about going for a walk, but never actually do it (I used to walk about 5 miles a day). I have always struggled with my weight, weighting 240 at 12, losing as a teenager in very unhealthy ways, gaining after I had my daughter, losing when I joined the Army, etc., but the last time I weighed 220 was almost two decades ago, before I began working as a nurse. I managed to get down to 184 ten years ago but it was due to a depression in which I was not eating, and throwing up what I did eat. Over the years, the weight crept back on. I joined a gym a couple years ago, paid $600 for the whole family for a year, and quit after falling on the treadmill. All I lost was money. A friend of my daughter's from high school works at the Hemet location and introduced me to the program. I went home and looked up high intensity interval training, found the peer reviewed studies that supported it, and committed to joining. After losing $600 for a gym membership the $500 refundable deposit seemed worth it if something, anything, could change. At the time, my biggest concern was no alcohol so I began to wean myself off that. By the time I started my challenge I was down four pounds, so I weighed in at 216. My first day I realized what my body could no longer do, I could never do a push up but I couldn't even do one modified. I could no longer do sit-ups. I couldn't squat, and could barely run. Of course, the diet plan resulted in weight melting off, I expected that, but what I didn't expect was not feeling deprived, even when someone at work tried pushing free doughnuts on me as if they were crack. I was ravenous every 2 1/2 to 3 hours when it was time to eat, but then I would eat, and feel satiated. I did not expect the gradual almost imperceptible improvement in general fitness. One day I was able to do a push-up. One day I was able to squat. One day I was able to run, without being chased, and actually enjoy it. Yes, the diet is strict. It's also simple, which makes it easy to follow. No points, no calorie counting, just eat and FTDI. It works, and I enjoyed it so much I am going to continue, minus the meat and adding fruits and vegetables. Yes, the workouts are hard, but the trainers do everything in their power to vary the program and keep it interesting. They do everything in their power to keep people motivated, and you will see them occasionally in a class with you. Every one of them has a personality that brings something special to the day, while caring, challenging, encouraging, and motivating you to be your best and succeed. The people make or break a place and my fellow challengers and members are so wonderfully supportive, always helpful and positive, and I never got the feeling like I was being judged like I did at the gym. TLDR version: I have met my initial "goal weight" according to the contract of 196 pounds; my BMI went from 28 to 25. My body fat percentage went from 32% to 28%. I would like to lose more, get down to a normal BMI and body fat percentage of around 25% so I am going to become a member. I don't want my $500 back, I want to keep going. Thanks Sam. read more

I did a challenge at The Camp transformation in June 2016, and was unable to finish the challenge due to my disability. My doctor provided me with documentation explaining how I could not continue with the exercises due to my disability. I emailed an employee named Paula who told me to contact The Camp's Director Anthony Perez, which I did and no response. I then emailed another employee named Kat, who said she would get in contact with, Anthony Perez, and I never got a response again from either party, which I have the emails to prove! Later, I contacted actual members to ask around who I can speak to regarding my refund of $497, and a member told me that she was told that I should email Anthony again. So, I did Anthony finally replied claiming that he would address this matter, and until this day he has not. Last year I sent a certified letter to The Camp demanding a refund, but the letter was returned due to no one being available to drop the letter off to. Since, The Camp only opens certain days, and hours. Again, I send out another letter with certificate of mailing this year demanding to take this up to arbitration, and to provide name/address of the arbitrator. Again, no response. I am completely disgusted and absolutely appalled at how they run this business, because they love collecting the money, but not returning the money when there're documentation from a medical doctor explaining the condition of a member. I will not give up until I escalate this to a higher level, and get my refund. DO NOT COME HERE UNPROFESSIONAL! read more

The Camp is AMAZING! I completed my six week 20 pound challenge and I'm so excited with my results. I knew it was gonna be tough but it was so worth it. I have to preface this by saying I was extremely suspicious at how a program could be so effective. 20 lbs in 6 weeks seemed crazy to me. They weighed me before I signed any contracts and let me know I would have to do 2 challenges to reach goal. Since high school I've lost 30 lbs and have always had trouble getting lower than that. But I took the plunge and slowly but surely my weight started heading down. I just ended my first challenge and I am down 20.8 lbs. This system does work but it depends on YOU. YOU have to be motivated. YOU have to put the time in and work out even when you don't feel like it. YOU have to wake up early to prep and measure your food. It depends on YOU! They give you all the tools you need to succeed and the staff and members are so supportive because they have been there. It's a great environment to change your lifestyle but you have to be ready. Anyone who wants to be challenged and pushed to test their mental and physical strength, the camp transformation is for you! I signed up with the intent of losing 20 pounds, I wasn't sure if this was going to be obtainable; as I wasn't too far from my desired weight. However, I needed to give it my all. With the amazing support from everybody at the camp I believed I could do this. I made such wonderful friendships, the accountability was key to achieving success. The workouts were challenging. The trainers worked with me to help modify exercises due to severe pain from plantar fasciitis! The energy during the workouts is fantastic. Yes, there were times, I was brought to tears, but today I am stronger than I ever have been before. I loved the variety of exercises, from kettle bells, TRX, free weights, and basic matt work! Each trainer contributed to my growth, and weight loss. The diet, the meal plan.. Difficult, but doable. All my cravings completely ceased. I became so mentally focused, it was crazy.! The FB support group, aka AFF.. A fit family was wonderful. Always available to pick me up, or offer support and advice! I met my goal, not only did I lose 20 pounds, during the 6 week challenge, I lost 21.8 pounds! Excited, over the moon, ecstatic, happy, proud. The feeling of achieving this was intense.
