I Love this Gym! It's not a regular gym tho! Which makes it amazing. I started off with a complementary class to try it out (Sept 21) and I've been going since. Today marks 2 months and I love it. Everyone here is really down to earth and motivating. All the Trainers are skilled and fun to work with. The workouts are a bit challenging but well worth it. I feel like I finally found a place that motivates me to lose weight. I've lost 13 pounds in these 2 months. And not only do they help you with the workouts, they also have the 21 day and the 42 day challenges, that offer you a meal plan along with the workouts. Which is great for a healthy weight loss. Workouts vary and are always challenging but coaches can modify any exercises if you are injured or recovering from an injury. Mondays and Thursdays are upper body days, Tuesdays and Fridays are lower body days, and Wednesdays and Saturdays are full body days. I joined the Camp summer 2023 and have only great things to say. It's a great place for all physical conditions and abilities. The trainers are all excellent, knowledgeable and encouraging. Not really certain how much weight I lost in this first six weeks because on my initial weigh in I was wearing work boots, Levi's, and two long sleeve shirts.  I do know I had hit such an unhealthy point in my life that it was becoming difficult just to get through the day. Was difficult for me to even tie my shoes. Even with the unhealthy state I was in I almost walked out after listening to the whole layout of the program and cost. I did walk out, in, and out several times weighing it out. Probably would have walked out and stayed out if it wasn't for Rome Cube having above and beyond patients with me, easily put up with me twisting on the idea for an hour maybe more. Being casual about it, pointing out the overall cost while mentioning the virtues of the program.  I bought in, signed up, and started right in.  Couldn't do most of the exercises for the first several weeks. But then as the weight started to fall off and I limbered up enough to do the exercises, I started doing double workouts 5 days a week.  Up on the board, it says I lost 33.4 lbs. But I know it's more. Still didn't quite reach my camp weight to complete the challenge. But I see that as a good thing keeps my name on the board for another six weeks. I don't go to the gym often but I wanted to be active and work out in an environment with other people to help motivate me. I took a class at San Marcos Camp and it was exactly what I was looking for. Savannah at the front desk was very sweet and welcoming on my first day. The trainer Kevin was very supportive and made sure everyone knew what they were doing. He kindly posture as I lifted bar bells and sandbag. The members themselves were also very nice, giving me encouragement during the tough but rewarding workout. I'm a germophobe but knowing that they wipe down and clean every piece of equipment made me feel at ease. It was a hot summer morning but the gym has a large garage door that opens up to keep the space cool. Even though it was difficult being there at 7am on a Sunday, it's worth it cause the team and I are in this together. Again, a huge shoutout to Kevin for being so positive and energetic to keep us going!!! I highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for a group fitness environment. read more

I just completed my "Hard Body" challenge at The Camp Transformational Center, and man do I love my results and this gym! There's a few key things I love about this challenge and program. 1. Sustainable Meal Plan and Accountability App- The program provides you with a list of foods that are highly recommended to stick with for the duration of the challenge. There are multiple options for proteins, carbs, and vegetables that allow for variability in meals you can prep. They even provide a sample meal schedule. Additionally they provide you with an app that helps track your workouts, weight lifting homework (as well as the weights you used for each exercise so you can see where you've improved), and stats since it syncs with multiple brands of fitness bands/watches like Fitbit. One of my favorite features of the app is that it provides you with OnDemand workouts for those busy days you just can't make it into the gym. 2. Results - I'm not talking about the number on scale, I'm talking about how INCREDIBLE I feel in every aspect. I immediately felt/saw positive results after just the first week. I saw muscle definition, clothes were fitting better, I was sleeping better, I had more energy, I was in a better mood all day long, I had more patience with my kids, I felt stronger, had less sugar cravings (by the second week it was very easy to turn down sweets) and I still got to eat SO MUCH FOOD. With every week all of these continued to improve. The gym also uses an InBody scanner to help track your progress. You can see how your % body fat (main factor looked at for Hard Body challenge), skeletal muscle mass, BMI, and more have changed over time. At the end of the challenge I had lost 5.7% body fat and gained about 3 lbs of muscle and so much muscle definition. 3. Awesome Fit Family - I think the biggest thing that made this challenge so easy to stick with was the amazing people I got to see each day at the gym. First off the trainers are amazing and extremely supportive during the workouts. They push you when they know you can handle more and they offer lots of modifications if you have some sort of injury or limitation so that you can still feel like you're part of the group exercise. Everyone at the gym, both coaches and staff, are super approachable. Regardless of your question or concern, they are an open book and super knowledgeable an helpful. They really want to see you succeed. The other gym members are also extremely welcoming and helpful, making it feel like we are all together in this journey of living fitter, healthier lives. The gym also does plenty of community events to keep everyone feeling connected. During my challenge period there was a "spirit day", end of summer party, gym happy hour outing, and I'll soon be joining a team challenge. It truly feels like an Awesome Fit Fam! I can't wait to do more events with this group including obstacle course races. All in all, this is a fantastic facility, community and challenge and I highly recommend you give them a try and sign up for a Hard Body or Weight Loss challenge! I moved to San Marcos early in the year and have wanted to go to the camp to start a challenge after settling in when covid hit and the camp closed. I followed them on FB and saw that they were finally opening back up. I was reluctant because of the safety measures that we have to take now in a public setting. Six week challenge completed and here's how I did!! This has been my highest weight ever and if it wasn't for this place I would have never been able to start my weight loss. I started at 184.4lbs and on my final weigh-in I came in at 163lbs. 21.4lbs down!!! I had tried multiple gyms, plans, trainers. But this time it was different. My initial consultation with the owner Rome was so comfortable and he's such a chill guy! He took the time to talk to me about my goals, my why and also educated me on what they offer. I didn't feel pressured to sign a contract or overwhelmed by the fact that he said it's going to take you to make that decision and stick to it. One year ago for Christmas I was given a 30 day pass to The Camp Transformation Center in Escondido. I went, and there I met Eileen and Rome Bundoc; she was running the front desk and Rome was the trainer for that class. I took the class... got winded, tired and didn't even know what a burpee was let alone do one! At the end of class. Rome asked what were my fitness goals. My response was nothing really, I love food and wine too much. Truth be told, at that time I easily had an xtra 30-40lbs on me that I didn't want to admit to. I was comfortable. The 30 day pass was about to expire, and I WAS HOOKED on the feeling I got from taking their class, I signed up for a 6month membership! Now every now and then Rome would continue to ask how I was doing and what was I looking to accomplish by coming in almost everyday! My resistance to commit to a formal nutrition plan (a challenge) was eminent. Over 9 months or so I dropped about 8lbs... feeling stronger, somewhat fit. But I knew if I really wanted change, I'd have to buckle down and do a challenge. mid January I signed up for my first challenge (one year after I first stepped into the Camp) and WOW, AM I SO HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS!! 6 weeks of doing the same workouts I had already been doing all year, and following their nutrition plan and I AM DOWN TO MY GOAL WEIGHT!
