My 10 year old son had a LOT of excitement and curiosity, and David handled all of it with incredible patience and genuine kindness, especially when my son was checking out and counting his money. He took his time, never rushed us, and made my son feel comfortable, heard, and important. You can tell he truly enjoys what he does and cares about the people who walk through the door. David's friendly attitude and calm, positive energy turned what could have been a quick stop into a really special experience for us. My kids left smiling, excited, and already asking when we can come back, which says everything. If you're looking for a clean, welcoming place with outstanding customer service, Sugar Planet is it. My son dropped a sucker that we purchased from here, right outside of the door. One of the very sweet and hard working employees noticed and replaced the sucker only to be berated by what I would assume is the manager of the store. I witnessed this and returned the candy back to the manager and was spoken to in an extremely rude manner. Only to witness the manager berate the employee again for a second time. A lesson was learned tonight by that young employee, being nice and attempting to act by the kindness of your heart gets you no where. Avoid this place at all costs. If you see an older man with grey hair, about 5 foot tall, that seems to be suffering from short man syndrome, remind them that organizational leadership skills exist at all levels, even a candy store. The shopping center has one restaurant along with this place, the rest are boutique shops so it is real quiet and dark at night. The outside ambience is nice.
