On our RV road trip we wanted to get some "Breaking Bad" wear, which happened to be in this candy store. The entire shop is fantastic and the ladies working there are awesome. They helped me find all my sizes I needed and even had a picture set up on the porch, was a fun experience at NO charge. I had to purchase some candy and we took off on the road. I just experienced the BEST piece of raspberry dark chocolate EVER, and I'm a sweet freak. The raspberries were sweet whole and dip in the most delicious dark chocolate. So glad I stopped by here while I was in town on business! Disclaimer: I'm a Breaking Bad fan. So I made it a point to stop by here during my recent business trip. I had to get me some Heisenberg blue sky for myself, my husband, and some friends. As soon as a co-worker and I walked in, we were greeted by the Candy Lady herself and the very friendly Orina. When Orina asked what brought me in today, I simply responded: "Meth." Yes, I said that, and I very quickly realized how bad it sounded. However, she laughed and knew exactly why I was there. She then asked if I was from out of town. When I replied yes, and that I was a BB fan, she brought me to the back room where I was able to put on some Heisenberg props and pose in front of a tray of the blue rock candy. The folks working here are so friendly and really embraced the BB fandom that is bringing a lot of people into their store. The prices are a little high, but I was playing tourist and didn't know when I would have the chance to come back. I bought a Heisenberg coffee mug and a Los Pollos Hermanos shot glass (both came with several dime bags of blue sky). I also bought a few pieces of chocolate. The chocolate & caramel covered marshmallow was OMG to DIE for. I wish I had bought more than one! Definitely stop in if you're a BB fan. And even if you're not, they have some great treats. We had high hopes for this place, but it's just a "we melt chocolate on stuff" shop. I had a mint chocolate pretzel, which was great but obviously not professionally made. The staff asked us multiple times if we liked Breaking Bad. We don't. They didn't like our answer. Anyways, they also have some awesome naughty-bits section for your bachleortte/bachelor party needs (or what some people call "Tuesday night"). Their prices were reasonable. We have been in ABQ for a little over a year and hadn't been to The Candy Lady, how lame is that!!? Anyway we finally made our stop on a Friday afternoon not long after they opened. The lady at the counter was super friendly, she had some awesome fudge to sample and my husband and I almost ate it all but she didn't make a face at us or anything but she did offer to give us more!! If I wanted a sample of anything I would get it. We ended up getting some very flavorful licorice, some blue candy (of course) and a Heisenberg sticker. It was a great first experience and we will definitely return. read more

Let's just get this out of the way - This shop is in old town therefore prices are going to be inflated. That's just to be expected. With that said they do offer quite a variety. Everything from fudge to licorice. They are still riding the breaking bad train. And God bless them for doing so as long as they possibly can. They have a "naughty candy" room for the out of the box candy goers. I like to see local small business owners succeed. Stop by when in the area and remember they have moved. read more

Very cozy and whimsical shop! I was there for the Breaking Bad candy, but since its a tiny shop we were bumping left and right wirh the people there. The service was kind of rushed but they needed to move fast since they had a bunch of people there. All the candy looked luscious but I didn't buy anything else besides the "meth." read more

If you are a BB fan, then this is a must-see on your tour. Yes, t-shirts are pricey, but it won't put one in the poor house to shell out a little extra $$. Breaking Bad fan must! Also if you want some amazing candy, you should definitely come here. I personally came here because I heard she makes amazing meth *cough cough* i mean candy. The blue rock candy resembling the blue meth from Breaking Bad is good and she sells dollar dime bags. She has a Los Pollos Hermanos sign in the front room where you can take your picture. She has props for your photo op like Walt's hat, sun glasses, Los Pollos Hermanos apron, and a tub of blue meth. Ton of Breaking Bad merch. Im a serious lapel pin collector and she has two different lapel pins that reference the show and Albuquerque. Got both. 10 bucks a pop. A little on the high side but worth it to me. Tons of shirts. All breaking bad stuff is on the high side, but thats the case everywhere else in town. The candy is amazing. She had samples of different treats, all of which were amazing! But I spent my money on BB merch. Sorry candy lady! Since I got my fill of Breaking Bad stuff, next time I'm in the ABQ, I will buy more candy. Also, there is an adult section in the store. Ok. I had to visit this place for I am a Breaking Bad fan. I was excited to see the candy and other novelty items. I was not expecting some of the adult items in there and it seemed to be out of place in my opinion. The novelty items were a bit pricey as well, but what do you expect. We stopped in to the Candy Lady store with our children, as a special treat for their good behavior. The first thing you see when you get into the store is an "adults only" section with chocolate body parts. There is a sign telling you that only adults can be in that part of the store, but it's not blocked off at all, and there are kid-friendly items on the other side of the shelf, so I had to stand in front of the adult section to keep my children out of it. I'm not sure why this room is not more separated from the rest of the store. It wouldn't be that hard to put up a curtain and relocate it so it's not at the front of the store. I don't mind them having the section, but let's put it somewhere else. We will not be back to this store, and I don't recommend it to anyone. read more

I have been to this location once before during my trips to nm from california.My 2nd visit there today was more than I had expected. It was memorial weekend Sunday busier Then before. My boyfriend and I were immediately greeted by Kevin who gave us more of an experience and we anticipated. He asked us if we were breaking bad fans which we were and he immediately asked us if we wanted to wear the Heisenberg hat glasses and take pictures with the blue candy. Haven't been to the Candy Lady's store, but we took their Breaking Bad Experience Tour and it was fantastic. We saw all the great Breaking Bad locations including the White Residence, Los Pollos Hermanos, A1 Car Wash, and many others. The driver, Harold, knew a lot of cool info about BB and even took pictures of us at a lot of the sites and sent them to us that night. Definitely worth the $75 per person, and made our trip. read more

The Candy Lady is a locally owned candy store in Old Town off Rio Grande and San Felipe. The Candy Lady has been in the heart of Albuquerque for over thirty years now. The shop first opened it doors in Old Town. The Candy Lady is close to many other small businesses in the Old Town area. If you are out visiting Old town it is accessible to other stores in the area including restaurants and jewelry stores. I decided to visit the candy Lady because I heard that the candy and service were great. When you arrive at the location there is parking on the side of the road and there is also a parking lot on the north side of the building. When you walk up to the building there is seating out front and there was also someone playing the guitar. Once you walk into the building there is "Breaking Bad" series posters, clothing and, brochure stands in the patio area. The shop has free samples for the visitors to try as they are looking around. The cases in the shop are full of chocolate covered fruit and pretzels all in neat displays. The candy shop has also separated their adult section from the rest of the candy. The Candy Lady has chocolate with chili in it for chili fanatics. The candy is pricey, and you do not get very much for the price. The building is also narrow so if the place is busy it is hard to navigate around other visitors. The candy Lady is great if you are a tourist wanting to try unique candy flavors you can only get in New Mexico and Albuquerque show "Breaking Bad" themed candy. I dropped by this place on somewhat of a whim after some time at a nearby park. My Wife is an ABQ native and had been to the old location plenty of times but this was my first at either. After walking in past the Breaking Bad souvenirs I was immediately greeted by the jovial Candy Lady herself and I was made to feel at home very warmly. I perused the offerins and settled on a bag of licorice, piñon fudge, a few dark chocolate red chili truffles and a few other goodies and I was helped by another very friendly associate behind the counter. Theres a wide variety of fudge, truffles, hard candies, licorice (the real stuff) and other assorted treats, you're also encouraged to sample the fudge and I didn't have to be told twice. Prices are reasonable for the quality of homemade fudge and other candies that you get for your money, very nice boxes with gold string also come at no additional cost if you'd like, pretty much gift ready if you're buying for another. I'd go back any day and I'll recommend it to friends and family as well. Great product and great customer service, can't lose with that combo. read more

I went because of the Breaking Bad hype even though I'm not a die hard fan. But I do love chocolate and there is plenty of that here as well!! I wanted to try the fudge with chile and I'm glad I did. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was surprisingly good. I bought a quarter of a pound and half a pound of the chocolate walnut fudge. Both were great!! read more

This was an absolutely wonderful tour. I was disappointed to find that all of the ABQ Breaking Bad trolley tours were sold out far in advance of my visit to NM. I discovered this other alternative, and, though initially disappointed that I wasn't able to take the seemingly more "official" trolley tour, this proved to be a fabulous choice! The tour guide, Harold, was highly knowledgeable, friendly, and equipped with a spacious and comfortable limousine. Due to the fact that tour groups through the Candy Lady are very small, we were able to make frequent stops, to leave the limousine for photos, to make personal tour requests, and to access some locations that are not accessible by larger groups. I had an informative and personalized experience, and I would recommend this tour to anyone! read more
