Met with some coworkers for a business dinner. The location is beautiful and warm, with round booths perfect for a casual business gathering. Service was amazing as always, and we never had to ask for anything. We tried a few appetizers: calamari, bacon, truffle fries and salads. Everything was delicious, the calamari was especially perfectly light and crispy with cherry peppers. Chef's kiss! All our steaks and sides were cooked perfectly, though we felt the steaks could have been seasoned more. We had filets and a strip. This used to be one of my favorite steak houses. The food was always great, the customer service was top tier, and it felt like a true night out. Unfortunately, it just does not feel like the same place anymore. First, the addition of high tops really changes the atmosphere. What once felt upscale and classic now leans more "sports bar with expensive steaks." Maybe that is just me, but part of the appeal was the elegance and experience. Then came the steaks. We ordered three expensive steaks medium, and before they even came out, the waiter realized the kitchen heard "well done." We politely asked for it to be corrected before the food hit the table. Somehow, one still arrived well done anyway. Thankfully, someone at the table took one for the team and ate it, but when dinner runs around $600, you hope the steaks and the temperatures are both memorable for the right reasons. At one point, a side dish was dropped on the floor. Accidents happen, no big deal. But we did have to gently clarify that yes, we would still like the dish... just preferably not the "farm to floor" version. The disappointing part is that I had promised a fantastic worker and his amazing wife a really special night out. This unfortunately was not it. It was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling over the top. Truly exceptional. We were a small group and had a wonderful meal. Yes, CG is expensive, however, it is ideal fir a romantic dining experience or special occasions. We started with the flash-fried calamari and hot peppers that were delightfully prepared, however my suggestion is to ease up on the plethora of peppers. Most people prefer more calamari and less peppers...they took over the platter that could have been a smaller plate. We both ordered the sliced Filet Mignon and shared the Potatoes au Gratin... and our food was prepared with expertise. The steak was well presented, tender and juicy and the potatoes were creamy with crunchy potato chips brown on top. First timer here! We made reservations for our anniversary and the attention to detail acknowledging it was outstanding. They made us feel special - from the personal card at our table, amazing waitress (Molly) and special dessert - we will definitely return. We started with the tuna tartare and lobster and crab cake. Both were delicious! For dinner I ordered the lamb pops and they were nice enough to split them in half so they weren't as thick (I like the lollipop version). Soo tender and had great taste. My husband had the bone-in filet which was a special. Our waitress did a great job explaining the benefits of a bone-in filet vs regular as we have never heard of it with a filet. It was worth every penny. We also split a lobster tail on the side which was sweet and perfectly baked. I'm absolutely hooked on the new happy hour they offer weekdays from 4-6! I've been weekly for over a month. The menu is great and the prices are so affordable. I've tried almost everything on the menu and it's all top notch. The oysters casino are sooooo good! I also love that you can also order from the normal menu. I Found this restaurant on Yelp actually.. and based on my Experience I did not let me down the food was amazing. Both me and my dinner date . The steak melted in my mouth with bursting with flavor. That only Waygu can provide. The service was amazing as well she didn't write anything down as far as our order goes. Very fancy with the service and flavoring of a Michelin star restaurant is how I'd sum it up. They have a large menu of food and drink options. It was easy finding dishes we'd enjoy and a wide variety of cuts of steak. Free bread upon sitting down and it was impressive. Most free bread at restaurants are bland and generic. The basket had 4 different types. Food was top notch. I ordered the steak and lobster. My wife had the lamb chops. We also had side orders of truffle fries and creamed corn with bacon. The food was cooked to perfection with excellent flavoring. The corn lacked some flavor depth, but that would be my only complaint. Service was fantastic! Our waitress was consistently checking with us and quick to clear off the table. She made great recommendations and was very informative. Overall, it was a great dinner that neither of us expected as we didn't even plan for dinner. It's a great restaurant for a date night and I would make reservations if going on a weekend. I attended a large group dinner event at The Capital Grille, and everything went very smoothly. At the beginning of the event, the servers walked around, taking drink orders from an iPad menu. I tried Stoli Doli (vodka and pineapple) and it came ice cold to perfection in a martini glass; it was absolutely delicious and very refreshing. For dinner, because we had a large group, we had a preset menu. We had multiple shared appetizers to start, and my favorite was the calamari. For the main course, I chose the scallops, which were cooked perfectly inside with a crisp exterior. We had several shared table sides, including mashed potatoes and asparagus. They were kind enough to pack dessert for each person to go, and I had the cheesecake. Overall, the event went very well, and the service and dining experience was above and beyond my expectations. I asked for an au jus and that was amazing! The au jus wasn't so thin it couldn't cover the meat. The au gratin potatoes were good, but I think the potato chip topping was overpowering. It made it so salty and it felt like I was only eating a potato chip. The flourless chocolate espresso cake is very dense but delicious! My family and I always have a great experience dining at capital Grille. Their staff is always very attentive if you are gluten-free, you can ask for your own special gluten-free bread and they will warm it up and bring it to the table. I have ordered their African lobsters, Seabass, filet mignon, as well as most sides and desserts, and they are always very delicious. If you ever plan to go for a birthday, let the staff know when you make your reservation and they will decorate the table. read more

We love the Capital Grille and usually scrape our plates but no one in my family touched most of our meals, nor was this questioned by anyone. By far the worst of the Capital Grille locations. Needs a facelift compared to other locations as well. Has lower standards than other locations and the manager confirmed that to us when we asked to speak with him. I go to capital grill often because both the food and the service are always exceptional. I was invited to my cousins birthday party in which he had a private room booked for the evening. Upon entering we ordered our salads and appetizers which were all delicious. Once the waiter came to ask what we would like to order for our main courses I asked if we could have bread for our table. The waiter brought out the bread with no problem however it left me with the impression that we were being rushed because again I have been to this location numerous times and was always served bread upon being seated, which I also let the waiter know. My wife and I brought my mom up as a special treat making the drive from Mansfield. Even though it's a longer drive than to the Capital Grille in Columbus, we believe the product here is better! My wife, mom, and I seated ourselves in the lounge. Amanda was our bartender and server. I must say that Amanda did a terrific job as she always has! We truly appreciate her friendliness and efficiency! We opened with starters of oysters on the half shell and shrimp. Though my wife did not partake, my mom, and I truly enjoyed the appetizer! My wife decided on their chicken breast and risotto lunch while my mom decided on their seared salmon. I opted for my usual of the lunch filet mignon Oscar style. Our main courses came out relatively quickly. It was rather nice that the head chef came out to check on us. We also truly enjoyed EJ stopping by to see how we were doing when he arrived as well! We came back to the capital Grille because of previous visits that were wonderful and we were not disappointed. Our server Frank Lesko was impeccable in his service. He made us feel very special for our special day. The fillet and absolutely delicious. perfection the way we and potatoes were just amazing.
