The first time I called John, I had just arrived from work at 9 pm and discovered my puppy had made a MESS on my white carpet while I was out, and I was freaking out. He calmed me down and told me what to do so the stairs wouldn't be permanent. He came super early the next day at 7 am and honestly, performed MAGIC. He was so nice, easy to talk to and a pleasure to do business with. It was a rented apartment in the city with kind of generic carpet. Four years, two houses and two kids later, we still call him once a year. Now we own and our carpet is much better and he takes good care of it and is very proud of his work. John was wonderful. He communicated extremely well in setting up the appointment and about what he could/couldn't do on the first call. On the day he came out, he called twice to confirm and set the arrival time. Our carpets (3 bedrooms, 2 staircases, and a hall) were all done in just over an hour and they looked amazing when he was through. The only thing I would recommend is pulling any artwork off the walls as his machine does tend to vibrate. One of my pictures fell off, but fortunately it wasn't valuable. His machine is also quite loud so you may want to warn cranky neighbors. Otherwise, John was top notch. read more

I've used several different carpet cleaners over the years. Then discovered Jon at The Carpet Muse two years ago. He cleaned our two flights of stairs plus the upstairs hall (all runners). The first time we had him do a couple of scatter rugs - two of them are used at the front door. He was done in an hour and everything was like new - even the soiled front door mats. This year we called right before Thanksgiving; he fit us in and (minus 2 of the scatter rugs) he was done in 45 minutes - again, back to looking like new. We had to reschedule the night prior to the scheduled work and he was very nice about rescheduling to a new time that was convenient later that week. Jon was really friendly but the experience hiring him was really horrible. The scheduling of appointment was fine, however, even till 30 min before the appointment I did not get anything. I thus called him to confirm he was still coming. He returned the call in about 15 min and apologized that he will be late. At the end he was about 1 hour and 5 min late. (but when he charged me, he claimed he was 55 min late, that's fine). Soon as he arrived, he apologized and claimed he will give us a discount. I thought it was fine. He starts the work. The way he cleaned the carpet was using a machine and a towel/mat to clean the whole carpet. Before me he was working in another 2 places already and after me he has another 4 clients to go. I counted the mats he has and the travel time in between, there is no way he can use a clean one for me and the rest of the clients. Indeed after he cleaned my carpet, I noticed there are some fibers on the carpet that did not belong to me. Very clearly he had to use a dirty mat to clean my carpet. In my situation, I just hope to hire a carpet cleaning to deep clean my house. My carpet was not very dirty to start with. His clean very clearly made my carpet dirtier. He was 1 hour late already and had to rush to the rest 4 clients. Other than the time I was watching him, he could not stay longer and clean carefully. He did not charge a very high cost, but hiring someone to make my carpet dirtier was not a good idea. I assume he cleans his mats everyday and thus I guess the first person per day can get good service. Sadly I was not and clearly he tried to sacrifice me so that he can still be on time for the rest of his day. read more

John is the best in the biz! I've been using him for the last 3 years. I've tried a few others due to deals and last minute needs and no has done the quality of work that John provides. I have two small but very active children, our house gets lots of traffic and lots of spills . There isnt a stain that John cant get out, he's professional, always within his window, and his prices cant be beat for the quality of the work that he does! The price was right, and came in a few dollars below his phone estimate. He called to tell me when he was 45 minutes out, and came during the 1 hour window he'd set with me previously. This guy is the real thing. Absolutely fantastic service. Competent, professional, efficient, honest, fast and knows his carpets! I had a bad stain I was about to give up on and replace after having a bad experience with another carpet cleaning company who said nothing could be done. However I felt that someone who knew carpets might be able to help and decided to look further. I found Jon online and based on his years of working in this field, called and explained the stain to him. He was personable, straightforward, and said he would do his best. He came out the next day, called me when he was on his way, alerted me to any traffic delays, and arrived when he said he would. And OMG he got the stain out!! He got on his hands and knees and scrubbed with different solutions until it came out! Then he cleaned the rest of the carpet beautifully. It looks better than brand new! And he did the entire job in less than an hour, all with a smile and a great attitude. He also charged an incredibly reasonable fee, actually half of what the other cleaning company wanted to charge (the guys who said it couldn't be done!). Ofcourse there are no guarantees on things like whether a stain will come out, but you want someone who cares about their work, has experience in the industry, a positive attitude and understands value for service.
