Customer service: 5/5 Value: 3.5/5 Execution: 5/5 From a service standpoint, they excellent. The team is available 24 hours via phone and text. For the majority of my work with them, they were extremely responsive, had good pass downs between shifts and team members, and worked to meet all our needs and timelines. They never pressured us into anything or upsold us. They just wanted to support whatever we needed. My family needed an expedited cremation and memorial all within a week of my family member passing and Honor Cremations was able to make that happen and get the paperwork done with the county in that timeframe. Honor's paid casket option was cheaper than other crematories and was a very nice, presentable casket. Honor does not embalm in house but has embalming providers they can work with. The only reason I would hesitate to select Honor again is because other crematories were more cost effective (up to $1000 cheaper for our package selections), but Honor did what they could to reduce costs and provide flexible options and offerings. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others if service and empathy is a top priority.

Fortunately, the parking lot was practically empty when I arrived late afternoon within an hour of their closing. The lady at the store was very helpful and understanding. She told me that since the body would be collected at El Camino Hospital, she recommended that I contact their Mountain View location on Castro St, due to proximity to the hospital. She gave me a helpful informational checklist. And she told me more about their process and pricing. This location has a small show room with full size caskets; the Mountain View location is smaller than this, and only has "sample" size display examples mounted on a wall.

They offer grief counseling, police escort, work with local caterers, they work with local cemeteries and will make the appointments for you, and they will even get needed death certificates. Basically they work with you through the whole process in a most difficult time. Our coordinators name is Margarita. I can't say enough about her!! She took almost all my phone calls immediately and responded to my text right away even on her days off. Margarita made a slide show for me and then because of time constraints on my end, she redid it for me at no extra cost. All the people that I spoke with there were all very helpful and I did not experience any resistance from them when I was asking for special favors. I would not hesitate to use them again. Other funerals I've gone to, the staff members whether working in parking control, or guiding the pall bearers seemed more caring. They'll make sure the family's experience is emaculate, or at least almost perfect. Here, they don't greet you, nor at least try to assist the elders especially in the parking lot. They'll just stand there with a blank look to make sure you're okay... without even a smile. But they are seemingly professional with their guidance. Definitely not naturally charismatic. I hope they like their jobs. For me, it's been sad to keep experiencing loss of loved ones. We are getting older, and it's called the circle of life. Going back to the cemetery itself, the graves are quite scattered. You'll see clusters filled, and then empty spots steps away. The views of San Jose City is beautiful! Blue skies. Birds chirping, some wind, made my experience wonderful. Of course depending on the weather. The cemetery is still expanding into unused land. However, some nice homes are built directly across the street, where the lawn may be shared (literally). Luckily, I'm friends with Casper, and Poltergeist is only a movie. LOL. I'd say it's an average 3.8 stars experience.

She was patient and helpful and made sure we were comfortable with the setup and ensured things ran smoothly. The presentation was clean and personalized to our religionious preferences. Darling & Fischer were very professional from the first phone call, when I spoke to Maribel, who picked up the phone at a very late hour. Our loved one passed away in another state, and they coordinated with the other mortuary to receive her at the airport. The rest of the staff were gracious and helpful as well, and there was always someone receiving guests at the entrance or making sure to help guests find our place. The casket and flowers surpassed expectations, and the AV setup was sufficient for the size of the room (the main chapel downstairs). A separate room was also prepared for refreshments and coffee, and a podium for speakers. Annie worked with our religious leader to have the altar set up, and the settings were beautiful. After the funeral procession departed for the burial site we forgot several items. Steve and Danna were there and remembered to bring it for us. It's the little details that made this memorable and painless. I am considering DF for my own policy now that I'm older, and definitely know they will take good care of my family when it's my turn.

The staff from flower platform was very nice, but one of the flower shops (we don't know which one) was not good. They delivered flowers late and missed one of the flowers. Suggest to follow up after placing flower orders.
