Solid neighborhood watering hole. Somehow we've missed TCP until now. It's a great neighborhood beer and pub-grub spot for happy hour or after-work gatherings. The beer selection is very good, and the food is what you would expect: not gourmet, but a perfect accompaniment for a cold pint. The ordering process is chaotic: you have to push your way up to the bar between the seated patrons and wait for a bartender to notice you. There's no ordering spot and no queue so it takes a while. The bartenders were friendly if not efficient. The prices were about what you'd expect for a neighborhood spot. If you're in the area, stop by and wet your whistle. read more

I actually loved my experience here but my husband did not. And it came down to mostly price. This is in a little residential/retail space, past Whole Foods Market on S. Elliot Rd. We were greeted upon entry and stood there looking in awe of their large and diverse beer selection. The bartender was knowledgeable and helpful when I (as always) asked a lot of questions about the beer. My husband chose an IPA and I chose a flight. We went outside to grab a table since we were meeting friends and there was very little seating inside it was nice out AND I think there was a birthday party going on.) None of us had eaten yet so we all decided to order different things and share. The brats, pretzels, and sidewinders were pretty good. The photos looked great and they came out tasting decent. The wings were excellent but the flatbread was awful. It was like tomato paste on a cracker. Our server was very attentive and even helped us move our stuff inside when it started to rain. My husband decided to have a couple more IPAs while we sat and talked. My friend and I got up to look at the merchandise and the open stock for sale. I liked the vibe so much that I bought a koozie featuring The Casual Pint. I was also thrilled to find a Salty Turtle beer that I very much enjoy but usually only get at the beach. At this point I would have rated it a 4 but then we got our bill. Even though neither one of us paid any attention to the prices on the beer, it was a little surprising that my husband's IPAs were $10 each. And my flight was $17 (4, 4oz pours). Add the 4 pack and food, our total was over $110 before tip. We should have paid more attention but since my husband felt that it was all highly overpriced AND he had ordered the flatbread that was unappetizing, he doesn't want to return. Service was great. We were greeted right away, they helped explain the beer menu, and let us try samples. You order everything at the bar and you can sit at a table and they will bring food out to you. My beer was great - I had the Broomtail Galloping Gose: Cotton Candy! It was sweet yet refreshing and light. My friend had the jumbo pretzel and beer cheese - it was huge haha! The beer cheese was good! It didn't have that super strong after taste like som of them have. I had the chicken bacon ranch flatbread. The thin crunchy crust was good. I think it could have used a little more ranch though. read more

This is a bar first, excellent beer selection, including several for sale to take home. The food is decent, the wings are ok, cheese curds are ok, flatbread is ok, the chili cheese bratwurst was delicious. Service was excellent, they were very helpful in selecting a beer and recommending a root beer for the N/A parties. Tons of seating both indoors and outdoors, with friendly and smiling staff. If the food were better I could call it a second home, but it is the weak point, so it loses a star. Will come back when in the mood for a beer. read more

Great beer selection, and a lovely spot for a flight of beers. The bartenders are nice, knowledgeable, and down to earth. The location is good, and fills the gap of a more laidback atmosphere compared to Osteria Georgia next door. Upstairs has a few seating areas and games in case you bring along kids or gaming friends. The outdoor patio is lovely when the weather's nice. My only gripe is that the downstairs indoors section doesn't have a lot of seating areas other than the bar itself, which tends to get packed. So you'll likely sit upstairs or outside if the weather cooperates. Overall, I'm a big fan of the Casual Pint. read more

If you're tired of all those typical beer places you need to stop by and say hello. My friend and I decided to casually stop by for 1 drink and an appetizer just to catch up. But we ended up staying over an hour! ***PARKING**** DO NOT PARK in the parking lot to the right of the building. That is owned by a different company and they will TOW YOUR ASS in a heartbeat. We witnessed it. Park in the street or the Whole Foods parking lot to be safe. Seriously, the tow truck guy was a jerk since there were no signs. The casual pint staff was nice enough to give us a warning and apparently they wait for people. Ok so moving on from that PSA. As soon as you walk in the bar is there with a rotating selection of beers that change. You'll never get board. To the right of the bar is a large selected of bottles and canned beer for purchase :) I honestly think I'll come back just to pick up a 6 pack of "create your own mix". There is also a 2nd loft area that's open to the bottom. Up there you'll find more tables, and TVs to accommodate a larger group. I also noticed some board games! That's a winner. When I asked, they do hold reservations. It's a hot place during BB games because they have plenty of TVs playing them. read more

A Casual Pint recently opened, and I think it's a welcome addition to the area. This is a great place to meet up for drinks without having to deal with the hassles of parking on Franklin Street. They've got a long list of beers and a few ciders on tap. Ask for the color key on the menu to help find one that meets your taste! The bartender was really friendly and helped me pick out a delicious cider. In addition to the bar, there are tables downstairs and upstairs with table service so it did feel more like a restaurant than a bar at times. We didn't play any, but it seems like they have cards and board games available. I was intrigued by a lot of the items on their menu but wasn't blown away by any of the appetizers we ordered. We got wings (half buffalo and half spicy Thai) and the sriracha bourbon meatballs and both were okay but nothing to rave about. Parking is a little confusing because the restaurant is in the Berkshire building which is not part of the Whole Foods shopping center or the Elliott Square shopping center. They have signs everywhere, and the staff is incredibly helpful if you have questions! You can access the parking deck to the Berkshire building on either the left side of the building or in the back. There are also city spaces in the front of the building before the entrance as well. read more

The Casual Pint in Chapel Hill is one of my favorite bars to visit. The staff is incredibly friendly and quick to greet you when you come in. You order food and drinks at the bar, and may sit at the bar, upstairs or outside. They have a great selection of local beers on tap, plus you can get domestic. The food they serve is excellent. The wings are probably some of the best anywhere. They grill not deep fry and are very flavorful. The flatbread pizzas are good, especially if you like traditional buffalo sauce with some kick, not just orange sauce on a chicken wing like many places. The brat, pretzel, and sidewinders are also worth getting. They are brought in but the ice cream sandwiches are worth saving some room for. They also sell local beers and you can make your own 6 packs. It is always clean and have sports playing on many tv's. I wish they served a burger, but understand they have a small kitchen and cannot do it all. If you enjoy cold beer, great bar food, and friendly company, stop in and give it a try. read more

The people here are really friendly and the environment is pretty good for watching sports. Wings are really good albeit slightly overpriced (that might just be all wings these days?). Only real issue is I had a skunked beer that I picked out from the shelf and it was 3 months expired. They decided it was a distributer issue and not theirs for serving an expired beer and didn't comp me for the issue. Thought that was kinda embarrassing for them. Be careful if you get beers off the fridge shelf lol read more

Been to the Casual Pint several times and it keeps getting better! Had the sriracha bourbon chicken wings last night. They were fantastic, so fresh, crispy and juicy! I washed them down with Julian (CA) pineapple hard cider while watching the Packers-Seahawks game. They also have these awesome Bavarian brats, or snack on pretzels and beer cheese dip. This is a great place to hang out with a crowd upstairs or snuggle up to the bar downstairs with your date. read more

I am impressed by the lack of ethics and professionalism. I was part of the group of the person the owner attacked. What difference could it have made if the owner had said "Excuse me, please wear a mask to enter to the bar" THAT WAS ALL. But instead he was the first to yelled with a bad attitude to my friend, so my friend went outside and my other friend went inside to order the beers because we were planning to sit outside anyway. And as if the humiliation of yelling at us aggressively in front of all the customers had not been enough, he arrogantly came out snatching my friend's beer who was sitting outside with the rest of the customers who did not have a mask on. So in conclusion they have really poor customer service because there are tons of good way to say "please wear mask inside" finally to clarify my friend was not intoxicated it was the owner's bad attitude that made the situation worse. read more

Absolutely LOVED it here! My friend and I came in for an early lunch right when they opened so it was quiet but really nice because we got to talk to the owner Bill and bartender Sarav a little bit! Sarav was super friendly and knowledgeable about all the beers on tap (which were a LOT) I got to cross off a few new ones on Untappd so that was cool. I love when I can go to a place and have no idea what kind of beer I'm in the mood for and the bartender knows enough to give me a great recommendation. The food was SO GOOD! We got the southwest eggrolls, pretzels and beer cheese (omg so amazing) and I got the Wisconsin Brat. Found out they don't fry anything so it's all baked. What's nice is it's kind of "classier" bar food so you leave feeling full but not gross. I made my own 6 pack too! Selection is great and they're open to suggestions if you know a great beer let them know! It was a little pricey for the 6 pack so I might not do that every time but I thought lunch and the draft beers were very reasonable. It's casual in here.
