Just recently moved to the area and found Cornerstone off a web search. We brought our dog for regular vaccines and Dr. Basinger was fantastic at reading her body language and suggesting to opt out of a nail trim that day due to her already being stressed, and instead giving us great advice that has worked to shorten her nails. The day we were going to call to set up an appointment for our cat, she exhibited signs of a severe UTI after midnight, which we went to a 24HR emergency vet to confirm and treat. They were able to send records over to Cornerstone, who already had them in the system just a few hours after we left the ER. Dr. Basinger was also filling in when we brought the cat for pre-op and you can tell he really cares for the animals and wants them to be the best they can be. Once we had the UTI cleared up and her bloodwork came back OK, Cornerstone was able to take care of the surgery for kitty's bladder stone the day after we called to set up the surgery. I don't remember which Dr did the surgery, but she came out to speak to me when I went to pick up our cat and was very informative and kind. The surgery and recovery went wonderfully, and as long as we are in the area, we will be coming to Cornerstone. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Cornerstone, the staff, and the vets. We are very picky about who we take our fur kids to see. Our 8 pound Chi-poo needed to have his undescended testicles removed. Dr. Draper did a phenomenal job. A rescue kitten came to us unexpectedly and needed an emergent tail amputation. Dr. Benson handled the situation compassionately and with expertise. The front desk staff and the techs are very kind and responsive. The entire staff seems to genuinely care. I'm so happy we found an animal hospital that treats us and our fur kids with such patience and concern. It feels good to know we've found our veterinary home. read more

We lost our dog after 16 wonderful years with him. He was a member of the family and loosing him hurt. We have used Cornerstone in the past for cremation services and have always had a great experience. The staff had always been supportive sympathetic to our loss., always professional. This time was very different. The receptionist acted as though it were an inconvenience bringing in our pet. Even though we don't use cornerstone for our veterinary needs she said " we normally don't accept pets we don't see". This has never been the case and she went on to say we could have brought our pet to the cremation location instead of to them. This Explicative explicative explicative. showed no sympathy or empathy for our loss and was ice cold the entire time and even though I was in the system she didn't verify my information or ask if any of my information had changed, I to ask her to confirm it with me. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I just lost a beloved pet that has been in my life and my family's life for 16 years and she's acting she has better things to do. She had me pull around to the back so the technician could take my dog and I lost it. My anger spilled over and I vented on the two ladies assisting me. I apologized to them for the language I was using as it wasn't their fault. They were 100% professional and great to deal with, but when I told them my experience with the receptionist, I was so angry. My hands were shaking. They were kind enough to listen and expressed their sympathies for my loss, but after that incident with the receptionist, I will never use Cornerstone for anything ever again.. read more

Do not take your pup here if you treat your dogs like I do, she's my tiny human! This was one of the worst vet experiences I have ever had, the male vet was condescending talked down to me! He grabbed my dog out of my arms and told me to stay, peeled back k her eyes and shoved a huge light in them scared her so bad she was shaking! This Dr recommended Purina no vet ever has been this empathetic reckless and he didn't even prescribe anything for her ears, said she was fine another vet cleared them up please see Wellpets highly recommend! I called mufti er vet and told them this experience and they said look for the no fear vet seal, she loves her vet that had her as a baby not even shots bothered her but this Dr at this vet awful never again! read more

I am writing this review for my mom. She owned an African grey parrot. He was 3 years old. She searched for Avian vet to take him to have his nail clipped, beaked filed, and to be DNA sexed. She found Cornerstone vet hospital and picked this place due to these reviews. She was so excited. Yesterday on October 10, 2023 he had his appointment. Dr. Benson suggested to my mom that he also needed to do an x-ray which would require him to have anesthesia. So she said if that's what has to be done that was fine. During these procedures her bird Smokey passed away. She was and is still devastated. She did not expect for her bird to pass away during what they call a wellness check. No risk was ever explained to her that Smokey could pass away. She would have never agreed for any of this to be done. This is plain out negligence on their part and we are furious. Furious because we were not given any explanation as to what caused him to die. They performed a necropsy which showed nothing out of the ordinary. Today we picked him up to take him to a local vet we trust to be cremated. We were told we owe them money. We have requested all labs and notes. With all of this I urge you to please do not take ur animals here if you care for them. This bird meant a lot to her and he is now dead due to their negligence from a wellness check. And we are left with no answers as to why this happened and not even a simple apology. Only that we owe them for killing our pet. My mom's last memory is of Smokey screaming and hollering as they got him out of the cage. We will be filling an official complaint to the SC Board of veterinary and anything else we need to do so someone is held accountable for their negligence and anything else we need to do to prevent this from happening to any other pet. read more

Dr. Benson is absolutely the most knowledgeable veterinarian in the Cola area. I drive almost an hour to take my pets to him and it's worth it. He knows more about animal healthcare than imaginable. On one visit, he told me about how he treated elephants with a medication I asked him about. He worked at the zoo and can handle any pet you bring him. What is also impressive is his attitude towards pets. Every life matters to him. In conversation he has made it clear that he wants only the best treatment for animals and he said - above all else do no harm. He doesn't fool around with your pet. The doctors and staff at this office were very caring and concerned for my cats and me. They looked after my cats for several years and at the end showed much care for making it as easy as possible for us to say goodbye. Don't hesitate to take your fur babies to this office. Veterinarians definitely need an attitude adjustment. Bought my exotic pet here to obtain critical medical care because the breeder sold me a very sick animal. I was initially told to dump the pet at the breeder's home and wash my hands of the situation because the fee to cure the animal would be too high. The problem was that my kids had already fallen in love with their new family member. They saved my pet's life and also charged me exorbitant prices for what my old vet would have included into the routine cost of care. Similar situation happened when another pet was mauled my a dog. They told me to kill my pet sight unseen because, in their opinion, birds and rabbits are not worth the money. Don't bother coming here with your exotics if you need medical attention. LOVE CVC!! We wouldn't trust anyone else with our furbabies! We drive from Rock Hill just to take them there.....Very thorough and sweet. They're always gentle with our "kids" and great communication. TOTALLY would recommend them! Dr. Draper and her staff are awesome! They are caring and concerned for both the pet and the owner. Dr Draper accepts exotics, such as our hamster, as patients and she provided excellent care for our pocket buddy when he developed a tumor. This veterinary office is wonderful. The employees welcome you when you enter, more often than not they remember you and your pets, they explain your pets condition clearly and advise every possible option to fit your financial situation or pet care preferences and always call to check on your pet within a few days to make sure they are doing okay. Most recently we took our dog here after she was quickly brushed-off by another vet in the area the day before and found she had succumbed to acute renal failure and we had to put her down. They gave her pain medicine as soon as we brought her in and they noticed she was in pain, kept her in blankets and took great care of her. They offered every test they could and even called other vet offices to buy from them the tests we wanted that they didn't have in stock. When we picked up our dogs remains to bring her home they also gave us flowers and a card expressing their condolences. These people go above and beyond for their customers and treat every pet that walks through that door as if they were their own. I've brought four of my animals here and my only regret is that we didn't bring my dog to this vet first. read more
