I paid for my dog Arya's spay at Midlands Veterinary Hospital. She later went through a heat cycle, and I subsequently found out that she had an ovarian remnant, meaning ovarian tissue was left behind after the spay. So my dog who was supposed to be spayed will now have heat cycles for her entire life. This is not simply a situation where a procedure did not go exactly as expected. Retained ovarian tissue can continue producing reproductive hormones and expose dogs to significant long-term health risks, including stump pyometra, mammary gland tumors, tumors or cysts involving the retained ovarian tissue, and other hormone-related complications. Arya may now require additional monitoring and potentially another surgery because of this. I paid for a procedure specifically intended to eliminate these reproductive risks. Instead, I am now left worrying about health problems that could affect my dog for the rest of her life. I contacted Angela, who is currently the Practice Manager at Midlands. I provided documentation and proof and was told that the records would be reviewed and that I would receive a response. It has now been over a month. I have sent 3-4 follow-up emails and have received no response. I also contacted Destination Pet's corporate office directly and never heard back from them either. I am not expecting complications to be impossible in veterinary medicine. I am expecting accountability, communication, and a willingness to address the situation when a paid surgical procedure does not achieve its intended result. Instead, I have been ignored.

After three days of trying, I finally trapped a feral cat who has visited me daily for years but had never allowed anyone to touch him. The clinic was willing to see him on short notice and accommodated my urgency when he was injured. The staff were not only attentive and professional, but also incredibly compassionate. They understood my financial concerns and worked thoughtfully within them. Most importantly, they handled him with patience and care, helping him feel safe enough to be touched for the first time in sixteen years. Because of their kindness and skill, there is now real hope that he may finally become an indoor cat. Last week, I called the office because I was concerned that my dog's health was declining and wanted to speak with a veterinarian. I was originally told by the veterinarian we saw to call if there were any concerns. However, when I contacted the office, I was informed that she was on vacation. I requested a call from any veterinarian in the practice due to the urgency of the situation, but I was told I would need to wait until that specific veterinarian returned. As a concerned pet owner, I found this response extremely disappointing. When a patient's condition is worsening, there should be a process in place for another veterinarian to review the case and provide guidance. Due to the lack of communication and support, I made the decision to transfer my dog to another veterinary facility. My dog is currently receiving care elsewhere and has undergone several hours of additional testing. At this point, his condition has been deemed urgent. While I appreciate the initial efforts made during his visit, I am disappointed by the lack of follow-up and the inability to speak with another veterinarian when I expressed concerns about his declining health. This lack of follow-through is unacceptable, especially when dealing with such a serious and time-sensitive health matter. Don't be fooled by the cute pets you see running around behind the front desk area. I have had numerous incidents when I put my dog in their kennel. The staff that are responsible for boarding do not care about those pets. It's not clean. My pet always has a negative experience when he is boarded, and the staff doesn't care. They have gotten my dog mixed up with another dog and thought that was funny. During my dog recent boarding, they didn't feed my dog. I measured his food and snacks, and the food and snack returned back with the same measurements. My dog was boarded for two days. I sent a complaint via email and no one from their staff responded. That's very unprofessional.

I woke up to my fur baby limping and naturally I freaked and called the vet right away. They fit us right in and we saw Dr. Holland. She is the absolute sweetest vet with a great bedside manner.
