My wife and I finally got the chance to visit The Catered Table. We've both heard great things about the food and owners and decided to give it a try. My wife wanted a chicken plate from 3 different dishes from the menu and asked if Phil the chef could surprise her by picking one for her. It was fantastic tasting and the portions were perfect. I ordered an 8 oz filet cooked exactly as a medium rare steak should be. We both had sides of vegetables that were also prepared with the right amount of crunch. How do I start?... this is embarrassing. Your bread rolls? are from frozen dough?.. every time I smelled them? It reminded me of grade school rolls on Turkey and mash day. The Crab Cakes with a "Panko" crust? Were Panko cakes with a hint of Crab, like soggy pancakes with a hint of prom night. The mushroom "Velute'"... was not the classic sauce described, it was So bland, i had to use the salt shaker. The sign of a good high end restaurant? Is?.... no salt and pepper shakers on the table. You are professionals, no need to season the food when it's on the table. You guys are lucky you're in the Bitterroot, you'd never make it anywhere else. You're very nice people, but? We travel for work so we dine out all over the place. I would consider ourselves pretty well rounded in the foodie category. This restaurant is consistently good, homemade & clearly with attention to detail. For sure one of if not the best in the bitterroot valley. Severely disappointed! Service was extremely slow. Tried to order Prime Rib on a Friday night which is their special and they were sold out at 6:15pm. 3% charge for credit cards. You would think the restaurant could afford the surcharge. read more

This is the worst place i have been to in the bitterroot valley or the maybe ever. frozen microwaved food. the bathroom is in the kitchen. the service knows nothing about food. i had better food in my middle school cafeteria. Two thumbs down!!! read more

Almost daily I am reminded that living in this small town is a blessing. Especially with great restaurants like this! How have we not been here before!?!? Last minute we decided to see what was open for dinner and even though it was 15 minutes until closing time, they welcomed us with open arms. Get the lime vinaigrette for your house salad. FANTASTIC!!!! An awesome experience from beginning to end! A group of about 20 of us went to celebrate a birthday. Adults and children. A wonder wine list and our server was very knowledgeable! She chose a wonderful red that we really enjoyed. The appetizer menu had a really good selection. I tasted the crab cakes, to die for, the spinach artichoke dip, delish, and the super yummy blue cheese fries! I had the chicken velouté and it was amazing! If your a mushroom lover you should try it! The mixed grain veggy side was so good I could have eaten a plate full! I tasted several friends entrees and none disappointed!!! Happy Birthday to me! Fabulous first visit. Service was excellent. I was impressed with a menu that has excellent variety. I like that you can have a fancy night out or have a casually priced meal for under $20. Crab cake starter was special and well presented. The pickled onions were particularly good on the plate. I had the friday night prime rib special. 3 price points available. Served with smashed potatoes and asparagus. Ample serving of both. Hidden under the huge prime in my pic. We visited the Catered Table on a recent Saturday night. Our server was wonderful, she never rushed us and was attentive and helpful. The wine list was really good with some familiar wines and some more obscure wines that would be nice if you like to try something new! My dish was tasty! My family and I enjoyed a fine dinner tonight at this wonderful gem of a restaurant. Their Chicago style pizza is the best we've had. It was well worth the 35 minutes bake time. My daughter's mahi mahi fish was moist and flavorful. My husband ordered prime rib but that is only on Firdays. So he ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. It was so no ordinary meatloaf and the mashed potatoes were delicious! The waitress was great and the chef came out to check on us and inquire about our take on the food. The atmosphere is very relaxing and quiet enough to carry on a conversation which is a rarity in most restaurants these days. We recommend The Catered Table and I know we will be returning to try out their prime rib. Tonight's meal was a great birthday present for me! read more

WONDERFUL!!! Went for dinner - had the artichoke dip & mushroom crostini appetizers, Caesar salads and blackened prime rib. Everything was wonderful! For dessert we had the chocolate bourbon pecan pie and white chocolate cranberry creme brûlée - both were perfect! The evening could not have been better - the atmosphere was quiet and comfortable and the staff was happy, pleasant and more than accommodating to all our requests. Six of us ate here for a family dinner after abandoning another local place that was unbearably noisy. Everyone thought that their food was excellent. Place was not crowded but probably would have been reasonably quiet even if really busy. Service was great. They have a number of nice wine choices at reasonable prices. Restroom access is through the kitchen, which was spotless, as was the bathroom. My new favorite place in Stevi. read more

Driving thru the Bitteroot valley , and had a flat tire outside of Stevensville. After changing the flat drove down Main st and found the Catered Table, stopped in for lunch . Had a delicious bowl of French onion soup followed by a prime rib philly sandwich, carmelized onions and provolone , just what I needed. Coming back from Yellowstone a week latter, meeting my friends from Hamilton for dinner. They made reservations and told me to meet them at the Catered Table. We had baked Brie appetizer , I had a great Caesar salad , a Pesto Pasta with crab, my friends had the bacon wrapped filet mignon and the Scallops, steak looked great, I tasted the scallops , cooked just right. I'm not often in the area , but I'll make it a point to stop next time I'm in the Bitteroots. read more

My wife and I ate at The Catered Table on New Year's Eve and had the steak and lobster special. It was, quite literally, repulsive. After being seated, we waited almost an hour for someone to take our order. The filet mignon was cold, raw and tasteless with a sauce that, (literally), tasted like vomit. The mushrooms were cooked to non-existance. The lobster thermidor was cooked to death so that it was dry and tasteless with a sauce that was unrecognizable and pretty disgusting. How anyone could make filet mignon and lobster taste so awful amazed me. This was the worst meal that I have ever had in a restaurant. Revolting. read more

Came here on our anniversary. Good thing we're happily married! My thick, medium rare steak wasn't bad, for the price it should have been amazing! My husband's medium well was tough and tasteless. A roll came with the meal, salads were separate. They gave us a piece of pie to help us celebrate, which was sweet... very sweet. 2 steaks, mashed potatoes, 2 small salads, 2 dinner rolls and 1 bottle of (under $20 in the store) wine, plus tip: $100!!!
