She was the person I went to and she refused to register my son. I told her that urgent care is supposed to close at 8 pm and that I am an hour early ,she said to me the doctor is running behind. we have too many people waiting and it will be a 2 hour wait time and that she has no intention of staying here past the time the urgent care closes. She also said to me they have already seen 40 patients that day and it was a busy day. I explained to her that its the nature of the job. some days are busy and some days not so much. YOu cannot close the door on a patient an hour early. No business does that,no grocery store,no coffee shop ,not even a doctors office does that. I asked her what the policy was and to show me the policy. I also asked her to get me her supervisor or the doctor and that I need to speak to them. She told me I can stand there and speak whatever ,she will not take me in. she even said she will call 911 while I talked to her in an extremely non threatening way and told her patiently I came driving 20 miles to this palce hoping that the urgent care will take me and an hour early at that ! NOw thats what I call an urgent care. Hats off to Medirite and shame on Watchung Atlantic health urgent care for having lazy employees who would rather go home and sleep ! The lasy at ATlantic health urgent care watchung had the gall to tell me "go drive to the ED at overlook" she said its 17 min from here and its open all night ,you can go and wait there! I have to say the medirite urgent care was also about to close an hour after I came but they still took me in and my son got his care . The PA that saw him was several weeks pregnant looked like 3rd trimester already and yet she was patient and kind and doing her job ,the front desk person sweetly registered us while urgent care Atlantic at watchung was rude and sending people away! Those people do not deserve their jobs for treating patients like that ! I would never recommend for anybody to go there! If you do go there register in advance as they cannot deal with walk in's . The staff there need to get home on time to have dinner and go to bed ! They could be racists too! Ask your questions quickly or you'll be chasing the doctor out of the waiting room for your answer, if you even get one at all. Feels like a two-minute drill. Dr. Shen has been my primary care physician for many years now. I have seen him for annual…read morephysicals (which are very thorough compared to any other physician I've seen in the past) and have seen him for illnesses along the way. He has always been patient and eager to help. He helped me to get well, always prescribing necessary OTC and prescription medication. His office staff has been efficient and friendly and prompt with call-backs and more. I am in my 50s now and have seen many physicians over the years, and I can say that Dr. Shen has been one of my best doctors. Please see him! He is very smart, thorough and caring.

Shyster!!! Billed for unauthorized Medicare service And sent me to collections!…read more I was in the recovery room at Overlook Hospital after breast cancer surgery. I was having a difficult time recovering from the anesthesia. The staff decided to call my family doctor for advice, apparently Dr Edred Shen was on-call. He arrived at my hospital bed, spoke to me for 5 minutes & had zero advice as what to do. He sent me a bill for $225. I submitted it to Medicare & they said it was ineligible to be paid. Edred Shen sent the bill to a Collection Agency his office retains. I sent his office the letter from Medicare, saying service was not eligible to be paid. Edred Shen continues to send Collection Notices. Obviously, he must bill a lot of patients for services that are unnecessary. He has sent the $225. bill to collections!! I have sent him the statement from Medicare, showing he is not entitled to payment
