He was kind, laidback, and incredibly patient which I really appreciated. Getting a tattoo is a lifelong commitment and having an artist who says things like "I will re-stencil as many times as we need to get it perfect so take your time and make sure you love the placement!" is SO important. Especially because my sisters are younger I love that they felt comfortable and empowered to make every decision they needed to without pressure! I was there yesterday and got a full arm design. I love the fact he's a perfectionist and spent nearly 2 hours just configuring the size and flow of the design and ensuring the stenciling was ON POINT, and I mean to PERFECTION before proceeding with the ink. Once the stenciling was perfected, it was off to the races. I had made it clear I wanted the design completed in one session and Andre delivered, though it took 7+ hours to complete. The finished results are amazing. No other words to describe it, the clean lines, impeccable shading, and overall WOW factor continue to delight and amaze me each time I look at my arm! I'm already planning my next return visit. Side note: There was another customer getting tattooed by Andrew, while I was in there...his art work looks simply fabulous and it's apparent he just as much of an artist/perfectionist as Andre. This was my first larger piece that I reached out to Ocean blue about. To start the owner works…read moredirectly with you to design and create what your artwork will be as well as picks who you will work with (I was uneasy about this initially but it is done with tact as each artist has specific focuses and fine tuned skills). We had three visits for design; one where I left a deposit, one where we modified my design and one where I met my artist. Daniel was very good at listening to what I wanted -- even when I wasn't certain and modifed based on that. In my opinion he went above and beyond in this regard, and I believe he could tell I was a bit anxious, as I wanted a larger piece on my arm as a working profession. So I had high expectations and was picky and he handled it wonderfully. Daniel did a good job selecting a "transition" piece for the tattoo as well and offered me a few options. Keta was phenomenal. She helped cut some of my anxiety, was talkative, and kind. She needed help with placement as we couldn't quite get it right -- we both felt off about the spot and Daniel was happy to help with this as he had a vision. She was extremely skilled, took her time, took breaks to stay focused / sharp, and was in tune throughout my five hour (roughly) process. Her touch is light and effective. Her execution of the artwork was beyond anything i expected. My one complaint is due to numerous placements of the design, this made it challenging determining what dots were intended to be there and which weren't (may request an additional dot or two to fix evenness at some point but this is expected). When i drew this to her attention she was happy to add a few dots for evenness. Overall I am super pleased with my tattoo and am so excited to continue adding to my sleeve. I already have a follow up appointment scheduled to continue building the sleeve to add color and can't wait to see what is done with that.
