Here is my experience: I was scanned in quickly and had lunch. There were two soups: broccoli cheddar and onion with beans. Chicken thighs, rice, salad fixings. Someone requested fruit and they brought out some oranges and apples but said fruit is only during breakfast. I guess he meant the cut up fruit. I especially enjoyed the seltzer and water fountain. I filled my water bottle for the flight. Nice selection of teas and some brownies and cookies for dessert. There was a shower available if you needed it. I've been coming to this lunch for the three years that I've been busy my daughter and New York and I have to say that it's so absolutely convenient if you're flying Southwest, which I do. The gates are five minutes away if you're a slow walker. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner with rotating menus today we arrive for lunch and there was a tandoori style chicken that was sweet and cooked perfectly basmati rice Chinese broccoli Bucatini with pesto carrot Ginger soup, Italian wedding soup Farro, and of course, the salad bar. For desserts, there were tarts and cookies. There is a full bar and self serve Italian soda, fountain, lemonade, cappuccino. Pro Tip; As with most lounges, these days they do fill up and there could be a wait, so if you have your American Express Business, you're able to make a reservation on your AMEX App as long as you can show up within 15 minutes of that reservation and that will allow you to walk right in. read more

It's a relatively small (and generally crowded) Centurion Lounge in LGA's Terminal B and I understand there are often wait times to enter. But we were lucky on our visit and able to go in right away, with progeny. This lounge turned out to be a Godsend in light of the long wait for our flight. Our progeny call this category of dining "Lounge Food" and they love it (just like they love their "Hotel Breakfast"). Here, the grownups really enjoyed the food and drink offerings, as well. The buffet featured some surprisingly good falafel by celebrated NYC chef, Kwame Onwuachi. They were a little undersalted and dry given that there wasn't a more saline, creamy element to accompany (e.g. hummus, babaganoush, etc...), but otherwise nicely seasoned and textured despite being held in warming trays for a while. The other standout dish was a braised chicken thigh preparation with artichokes, olives and Hungarian peppers by Sarah Grueneberg, another celebrity chef based out of Chicago, paired with sour cream and butter enriched mashed potatoes. There was some sort of green smoothie on offer at the buffet, which was lovely. It wasn't too sweet and I think included cucumber, mint, possibly a small amount of celery, cinnamon (surprising addition that also surprisingly worked). The kiddos enjoyed the brownies and sugar cookies on offer, but sadly didn't have room for the awesome-sounding gelato bar. The bar offers complimentary drinks, including some decent wine options and cocktails. (I had my standard bloody Mary, which wasn't horrible, but I wish I'd gone with one of the Centurion Lounge special cocktails, which sounded more interesting.) There's hot tea, coffee, lemonade and iced tea available as well. There are a moderate number of outlets around the lounge. Bathrooms were well maintained. Staff we encountered ranged from polite enough to very friendly and helpful. I prefer not to spend more time in the airport than I must -- but if one must be in LGA, this Centurion Lounge makes the experience so very much more civilized than it otherwise would be. read more

Great food, kind staff, and a bit cramped given the demand. On my last visit, there was a waiting list, but we got off of it after about 20 mins (which was in line with the quoted time). It is right next to the Chase Sapphire Lounge, and is a bit of a walk from the B-gate terminals. Still, pretty decent location. The seating in the lounge was pretty limited and all we could get was two seats at a computer-style bar. The tables are small, though there were some comfy chairs for the lucky folks who scored them. The food was delish and was very vegetarian-friendly. I loved the mushroom soup and the carrot & mango juice. They also brought out a vanilla and blueberry panacotta towards the end of my visit and it was tasty. I got a strong cocktail from the bar, which was also quite nice. I wish there was a grab-and-go soda option, since getting soda from the bar feels kinda awkward. But, there were stations to fill up water and get specialty coffee, so I was happy there. Relative to a mid-level lounge like one of "The Club" lounges, this lounge wins hands down. However, it didn't stand out relative to other Centurion lounges (or compared to the Chase Sapphire Lounge right next to it). Overall, definitely worth the visit if you have access! read more

I was so excited to try this lounge out at LGA. Check in was smooth to come in and receptionist will tell you how far you are from your gate. The lounge is very spacious and the restrooms are cute. It's always nice to see a lounge close to your gate, so when returning to the airport to fly back home I knew exactly where I was going to stop when my flight was delayed. There was a waiting list, and although I was quoted a 1.5 hour wait, it ended up being 30--nice! When I walked in I expected a crowded zoo, but this wasn't the case. There were actually tables available and the occupancy was just right! Nice LGA, because I've been in extremely crowded and extra loud Amex lounges, so this was refreshing. After a long day, all I wanted to do was eat-- that's it, and that's exactly what happened. Food was good--some needed seasoning, but everything was hot and replenished frequently, so I had no complaints. They had a very moist chicken, mashed sweet potatoes, brussels and more--I grubbed!!! First time going to Centurian Lounge in LGA because I don't know why but I usually never fly out of LGA or even Terminal B. The lounge is located near the 40-50 gate area and it is huge overlooking the departure check-in space. I came pretty late on a weekday (8:30pm) so there was essentially no one in the lounge and I got in no problem. I could sit in any seat I want and eat as much food as I wanted. I thought the food was okay, I think the best thing I ate was definitely the garlic and onion broccolini. I did appreciate their huge open bar although I didn't utilize it. I will say that the chocolate chip cookie was honestly one of the best cookies I've had in NYC which is wild. The cookie was very thin and crispy while the chocolate chip was very gooey. I literally ate 4 haha! Overall, great lounge and would definitely recommend. They seem to have a variety of spaces there such as a space for families and for business meetings which is quite cool. I heard that it does get quite crowded but weekday nights are pretty okay! read more

Early Sunday morning at LaGuardia, there was no line to enter The Centurion Lounge. This was my first visit, I found it modern, spacious. There was plenty of available podlike chairs in the Business Lounge. I liked that there was a small section set up for children (with glass door). The buffet was set for breakfast; I bypassed the rubberlike eggs and selected some large blackberries and watermelon and the last quiche ( it was dry). The bathrooms had L'Occitane soap (verveine). Stopped before my flight on a Thursday morning and breakfast was great! The food is unique and different from other lounges. It is definitely smaller than the Chase Sapphire lounge next door. Getting from Terminal B to C was quite easy in the early morning. They recommended 45 minutes. I got through everything include security in about 30 - I have both Clear and PreCheck. read more

I appreciate it was not overly crowded for an early Sunday afternoon as well as how nice and new it looks inside given it has been opened for not too long. However, the food quality was not meeting the expectations. The pasta tasted like coming out of a can and the chicken & the hummus were overly salty, specially the chicken, making it almost inedible. When I came here, it was not that crowded, unlike the experience of some other visitors. So perhaps my view is influenced positively by the time of day I showed up. Lots of intriguing savory food options. Vegetarian friendly. Even the harissa chicken is cool. I liked their chocolate chip cookies and brownies and especially relished their gelato station! With the new AMEX platinum rules my husband still gets in free, but I have to pay $50. Still well worth it for all you can eat and drink for about two hours. We made the mistake of sitting at the bar. My husband was drinking bourbon and they were pouring him only one drink at a time instead of doubles. They told him he can only get two drinks per hour, which I've never heard before. The food was ok, but not spectacular. The worst Centurion Lounge I've ever been to. If you have an Amex Platinum definitely give it a try. If you're paying $50 a person for everyone, you would probably be better off going to one of the main nice restaurants. Bomb lounge especially if you happen to come on an "off night" where you pretty much have the lounge to yourselves with very little crowds and just a nice quiet vibe. Comparing to the last time I was here (bar line through the roof) and a super (over)crowded room wherever you went. This time, it was really quiet, the staff was hard at work but in a non overwhelming way for them or for us as guests. I totally wasn't a fan of the dinner option or the fact that they close the bar at like 8pm on a Saturday but either way way, my last visit was really pleasant and I hear their French toast is bomb. I'll definitely have to try to match our next visit during breakfast/brunch time for sure! Drinks here are always great and I love the different rooms and areas available for all the different kinds of travelers and their needs. I want to note that the new and improved Centurion Lounge opened in 2021 and most of the reviews are in response to the old lounge and terminal, so keep that in mind. I've been doing a lot of travel this past two years but for some reason, I'm always flying into LGA and not out of it so I never had the chance to check out the lounge until today (11/10/22). I purposefully got to the airport a little early so I could spend some time here. I arrived at 2:45pm and it was pretty packed but luckily I found a seat by the windows. This lounge is a bit smaller than I expected, especially compared to the other ones I've been too but, it gets the job done. There's enough seating and even a private business lounge for those who need to get work done. I headed to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was extremely clean and well kept, which is a plus. Then I went to the bar to grab a drink and as always, they had an assortment to choose from. I landed on the grand central express and despite the bitters, it was good. Then came the food!!!! As a picky eater, with some food restrictions, I always find myself having to settle for fruit at the lounges but not this time. For lunch, they had pumpkin soup (tis the season), rice, chicken, shrimp lo mein, tofu, broccolini, and a salad bar, along with dessert. I mean, what more could you really ask for. I enjoyed every bit of what I ate and it was flavorful. The staff kept up with the cleanliness of the lounge at all times and I have to say this may be one of the best Centurion lounges I've been too. As a member since 2009 (not a 2022 member like the rest of y'all), I'm impressed. I'm also happy they are limiting access to the lounge with the new fee for guests if you don't spend $75,000/year. I can't tell you how irritating it is to see millions of people in the lounge who aren't cardholders (minus kids of course). I hope they raise it to $100/guest to make it even more strict. read more

While I had initially thought to proffer a four-star designation, I had a moment of pause, and proceeded to ask myself, "Which domestic lounges have I been to that are equal or superior?" And after a few moments of cogitation, I arrived at the conclusion that there are none with which to satisfy such comparison. Accordingly, while subject to change, I currently hold this lounge to be "the standard" and, by default, "the model answer". Whether this place intuitively invokes a five-star designation, accordingly, is irrelevant; as it is the model against which other examples must be anchored. The intuitive comparison against the Centurion at LGA is the one at JFK. I have to respectfully decline such a comparison, as the food at JFK is, while plentiful and of good assortment, significantly lacking in flavor (seasoning absentia), execution (dry meats), and taste (let's pony up and call Pizza Hut, fellers). The only items of note at the Centurion-JFK are the decor; layout; the drinks; and the hallmark AmEx service, recognizable at any interchangeable AmEx lounge. The food and coldness of the lounge layout of JFK, however, compared to the warmth, coziness, and right amount of diversity of seating types and options at the LGA lounge, however, render a clear result of one being superior. Having only been to 2 Chase lounges, I suppose my frame of reference for Chase lounges is not as vast as proprietary airlines lounges and AmEx-branded ones. However, I can say I found this place superior to the Sapphire Lounges of Boston and JFK. One thing AmEx could do to retain and assert competitive edge, especially as the airport spa services have been terminated at LGA for AmEx users, is to include massage, bath, beauty, napping suites, or on-site concierge services. Sapphire-LGA has some beauty services (per my fiance). I went to a horrible, stereotypical tourist trap NYC restaurant to kill a few hours before coming here as I was time-stranded. Huge regret. I wish solely that I could have saved my $75 and ate a lot more of the vastly superior food at AmEx-LGA. My sole qualm with the food is that the only protein available is a lightly fried chicken tender. While not as fattening as many options, it is not choice, health-wise, for the active enthusiast. All the same, save your money, folks; and avoid spending at places you know will disappoint you. All in all, there is something for mostly everyone. And the desserts are pretty dang good and plentiful, too. A made-to-order menu or a self-serve Coke Freestyle machine would go a long way, as well. While the views are not the absolute best, they are pretty good, if you get seated on the right side of the lounge; and a beautiful vista is tendered. Note: my comparison analytics do not include all lounges which require a First Class ticket and or special status to qualify for entry. Not what it used to be but still an amazing space to hang out before flights. These days, everyone and their uncle has an Amex Platinum so it's not quite calm as it used to be. I still generally find a seat on one of the couches and even if I don't I can usually hang out in one of the phone rooms unbothered. The food is solid and they have fast internet. The service is also very friendly and more then makes up for all the bustle going on around. I wouldn't get the card for this perk, but if you do have it, it's a solid option. At LGA in particular there a Chase Sapphire REserve lounge next door. It's probably a tad nicer, but i don't recall seeing a private phone room so this one has a slight edge for me since I enjoy the ability to make phone calls at work. read more

I cannot say enough about the foodgasmically yummers French toast!!!! Do yourself a favor and have it, if you are fortunate enough to be present at breakfast time. Whatever time you visit, the food is regularly refreshed by diligent and pleasant service people who greet you with a smile, and others who whisk away any plates, utensils and cups you are all done with. Even when it's busy, there is ample seating, and it definitely beats the heck out of waiting at the gate for anything longer than 15 minutes. There is free wifi. The products in the clean and spacious gender-specific bathrooms smell lovely and most of your fellow cardholders are polite and focused on their journey, just like you. How cool is it that there is an Amex Lounge at LaGuardia airport!? Now that the airport is wonderfully remodeled it's only fitting! The lounge itself was very clean and the 2 individuals who were cleaning tables were friendly and jovial. Plenty of space to sit and there are good sized bathrooms inside the lounge too. I brought my BEC with me from the city so I didn't eat the lounge food. I did ask for a mint tea bag as they were out. The staff at the coffee/tea area who were cleaning the area were happy to grab one for me. The reason for the 2 stars...when I entered the lounge this morning I was next in "line". There were 3 staff members, 2 were helping other customers and one with large glasses was on her computer, didn't look up. Long story short, when it was my turn the 2 (middle person and far right person) gave me "ish" for not hearing them tell me to come forward. One had a mask on and didn't project her voice or look up and the far right one berated me to her co-workers saying "I was the one who called you forward, not her". I said I'm sorry, you didn't make eye contact so I assumed it was the masked employee. She kept it going. I politely mentioned to her that when I did walk up, she had her head in her computer so I had no way of knowing she was even speaking to me. She quickly told me she was finishing up from the last customer. It was just a crappy welcome to the lounge. What's worse, once I was finally allowed to enter the lounge I turned to see my husband had been stopped and they would not accept his digital plat card. No biggy, we have the actual card. In having to turn back, I was able to see the unfriendly #3 (huge glasses) employee's computer screen. She was freaking surfing the net for a used car! I guess that's why she was so happy to assist me upon my entry. Her associate (#2) who chose to wear Ugg slippers with her uniform said they never accept digital cards. My advice is to make sure if you come, you bring the actual cards as this lounge does NOT accept digital wallet cards (today at least). I travel often and use the lounge in my home city. They have always accepted my digital card. I expect more out of staff working with/for American Express. To talk down and scold customers really should not be acceptable. Cleaning crew-Amazing.
