This review is for the Bilt x Blade collaboration. Basically, if you have the Bilt credit card, you can get access to Blade helicopter lounges. Depending on your level, there are different perks. This place is under an overpass with a view of the water. The drinks were great, the helicopter is cool. I'd say the toilet needs more power. I think the blade lounge on the west side has a Japanese style toilet with a bidet so I like that one more. read more

I booked Blade's helicopter transfer between JFK and Manhattan to make a dinner and event in the city. Blade then canceled my inbound flight. I then rescheduled for my outbound flight on Sunday and with little notice they cancelled again and declined to refund the fare. Because I live outside NewYork and only visit the city seldomly, the limited‑window flight credits they offered are unusable. When I explained this, the representative suggested I gift the credits to someone else. Unexpected changes happen, but withholding a refund after the service provider canceling the service is disappointing and unfair. read more

Great and painless experience from JFK to Manhattan on a busy Monday 6 am commuter. Im a fan.

We booked a flight into the city for a few hours and then another to the Hamptons with Blade. We had a really pleasant experience overall. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and I thought the lounges were decorated impeccably. My only suggestion would be to streamline the process of boarding the helicopter & loading and offloading luggage. There seemed to be confusion for both flights during those processes. All that being said I would still definitely recommend Blade if you're looking for a faster, more convenient way to travel... beats a cab any day! read more

Cannot recommend Blade for JFK to Manhattan "continuous" transfers. If you are looking for a fast way to get into the city, stick with ground transportation. Used their service last Friday to go from JFK to East 34th. Despite landing at JFK just before 4:00pm, we didn't get to Manhattan until 6:00pm. First it took 50 mins just to get them to pick us up - severe lack of communication once you get to the airport. Then we waited at the sad lounge they have at JFK for another 50 mins, until the so-called "continuous" service was ready to take us. Obviously the helicopter part was quick, but it's all the waiting around and no communication that makes this a waste of money. We made our dissatisfaction clear with a customer relations person when we arrived, and were told someone would be in contact to discuss. 5 days later - nothing. I contacted them myself, and got a response, but their offer was just a credit to use their slow service again. Why would I put myself through a 2 hour transfer to Manhattan AGAIN. And the credit was for only 1 customer, so I still have to pay another $195 for the other person, to do it all again? No thanks. I'll just use Blacklane like I did on the way back to JFK - $135 for the car, and sit back and relax. 50 mins door to door, even with the UN traffic. If their customer service handled bad experiences better, maybe this would have been a better review. read more

I can't really vouch for them. You're better off with a true charter. Yes, it theoretically is more convenient, but always ends up not being such. Have had 3 trips with them so far. 1. On time and ok nyc-JFK 2. Cancelled due to weather, causing me to miss my flight. No advance notice nyc. - JFK 3. Rescheduled without notice only to make me 1hour late to my appointment. That was the entire point of using this service. East hampton -nyc On the plus side, good snacks and free champagne. But I doubt that is why anyone is using this service: too poorly organized I don't think I will be using them again unless I really don't have a choice. Better off with the regular. read more

Flew from the city to Nantucket via HPN. Gorgeous lounge and super friendly staff. They had an open bar with rosé, tequila and a few other options. Fun part is they give you sippy cup to bring your drink with you onto the chopper! I'm spoiled after this trip and am not sure I'll be able to return to driving + ferry ever again. read more

Took a blade package from east heliport to Miami. We were an hour late and ended up taking more time than commercial. Service was lacking and private planes are not comfortable to share with strangers (constant leg rearrangements with the guy I was staring at for 3 hours). Lady behind me constantly slamming in the back of me with very little recline. Very few beverage choices. All in all it was slower and less comfortable then first class, so I ended up flying back that way. I see no reason to pay the premium unless you can really pay the premium and fly with your own group. read more

I booked a blade for the first time out of the city for 5PM Friday. My first complaint is that I am 6ft tall. Although there were other much shorter people on my flight, I was forced to sit in the middle seat where my head hit the ceiling the entire time. I was then told I would have to have my bag toted to me because it was an inappropriate shape. This cost me an additional 150 dollars. They informed me the bag would be dropped off first. The bag did not arrive until 10:45PM and was dropped off last. Miserable experience. read more

I recently used Blade for a transfer from the airport back to NYC after taking a red-eye and I can't say enough about the Blade team and the service they provide. The app was easy to use and the team was courteous, professional and kept me up to date on all details of my trip. Not only was Blade an efficient and cost friendly manner of transportation, the flight itself was incredible! The pilot was very friendly and the chopper was comfortable. You truly can't beat the breathtaking view of Manhattan from the sky. Upon landing, the Blade team came out to greet me with a much needed water and coffee while taking care of my bags. I freshened up in the gorgeous lounge while I waited for my car to arrive. I wish I delayed my car a bit to relax in the lounge and hang out with the friendly team. I look forward to my next flight and highly suggest flying with Blade on your next trip. read more

Blade reached out a couple months ago and honored the flight at the original gift card price. The lounge experience and in-flight experience were great! I would suggest in the future though to change the gift card purchase to say the dollar value and not "one flight" as it is still misleading on the website. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I booked a Blade to take me to JFK from the East midtown heliport. They emailed me over two hours later to tell me that the flight was cancelled due to "mechanical issues". What a coincidence considering that 1) all flights at that time to JFK were cancelled and 2) the customer service rep told me that I was the only person to book a trip to JFK at that time from either heliports. All signs point to Blade cancelling the flights because not enough people could fill the aircraft. Short story....due to the last minute notification I missed my flight at JFK and am out $800. I can't imagine that I would ever recommend this service after what I experienced today. And the nerve of the customer service rep to tell me that I could get to JFK if I chartered a new aircraft....so sad read more

While a good idea in theory, the Blade service is ruined by its reprehensible customer service. I recently decided to catch a flight from Manhattan out to the Hamptons with a friend. We booked two seats on a flight (each costing over $1,000) that was to leave within the next two hours. While en route to the Blade lounge, we got a call from a flight operator telling us that despite the fact that our itinerary and tickets were confirmed, our seats were no longer available because "the pilots over-fueled the helicopter." After explaining to the operator that we had extensive travel plans centered around our ticketed flight, he eventually agreed to help us find another flight there (it took far too much haggling to help the paying customer, but I digress). Eventually, after waiting for quite some time, he offered to charter us a new flight. However, this was going to cost us even more money. Despite my uneasiness at having to pay more on behalf of their mistake, we agreed to this only after getting confirmation that we would be able to add a third person to our reservation free of charge. We explained that we had a third friend that was already booked on a later flight and were hurriedly told that either 1) he would be refunded his ticket for the later flight and allowed to join us for free, or 2) his ticket would be contributed toward our existing tab for the new chartered flight. So, after being delayed on account of Blade for over an hour and a half, the three of us boarded our own helicopter for the Hamptons. The ride itself and the pilot were fantastic. However, nearly TWO MONTHS later and after SEVERAL attempts to call in and discuss the payment, they have not refunded ANYTHING or offered any sort of credit for future flights to ANY of us despite promising to do so multiple times, both before the flight and in subsequent phone calls. I have been extremely disappointed with our treatment. If you deal with the flight operator named Tim, don't let him give you the runaround. Had we decided to simply take the train, not only would we have arrived to the Hamptons earlier, but we would have saved over $1,100. I knew what I was getting into in terms of cost, but the extremely poor customer service after a mistake on their part was disappointing. The subsequent lying over the phone and need for me to continually call and try and get the credits they promised... - that is downright shameful service! read more

used a credit that i had and booked a flight out of 34st to east hampton on thursday evening for fri,.due to hurricane irma my girlfriend had 2 flights cancelled out of palm beach!! 1 into islip then another into ny that was diverted to atlanta which ended up somewhere else..whereas i need to cancel my flight due to all of these events to try n figure out where i had to be to pick her up!!! blade supervisor/ company guy!!! didnt really seem to care for anything that was goin on and just wanted to stuff my fee in their pockets...seriously theres been mass catastrophes all over the world for the last 2 weeks!!! i understand policies are policies but sometimes exceptions can be made... thank you for being sympathetic to the customers needs so i will take the flight anyway n have a car pick her up instead of myself,so not to let them take my cancelled flight and resell it n not refund me anyway!!! thanks guys awful customer service!!! your service reviews just keep sliding n sliding!!! read more
