They have books of all genres, so if you're looking for something special, you'll find it there. The mom and daughter duo that work there are extremely helpful and friendly. Every time I walk in, I end up chitchatting with them for a good minute. They have a little section of free books for kids and my grandson loves choosing a book when we visit. It is located in a strip mall off Fredericksburg, and it won't be found unless ones looking for it, which I was. It is not a very big place, but it does have a lot of knickknacks, including an impressive collection of stickers, bookmarks, and vinyl records, to name a few. It actually is a pretty neat place. The books are used and for the most part they're very reasonably priced. They do not have an inventory of the books, so you do have to look through shelves, if looking for a particular title. And their staff is only one person at the cashier. Which is to say that you can browse to your heart's content, and discover some major reads. They also had quite a few boxes of books that were under one dollar or $.50. This is one of those places that I intend to return to, because of pricing and to support small businesses. I truly recommend visiting this place. It makes for a fun visit.

Even though it's slightly smaller than some of the other locations, there's a ton to see in store. While the book selection is good, they have a hefty selection of movies, games, music, and collectibles to peruse through as well. It's pretty easy to find things in the store, but there's staff readily available to help if you're having trouble finding something. Give this place a go the next time you're looking for a summer read or something for school!

Sprayed edge favorites and current picks, manga and danmei, Legos and puzzles, a Harry Potter section, you name it, they probably have it. If they don't, it's super easy to have it ordered for you. It's never difficult to find a staff member if you need assistance as they are constantly restocking shelves or checking in with customers, and the layout of the store itself is easy to maneuver. No floor to ceiling shelving units that block your view. I can't recommend this Barnes and Noble location enough. It's one of the best ones in San Antonio!

I remember when they sold records and magazines, and while the post-pandemic version leans more into books, gifts, and coffee, the heart of the place hasn't changed. It's still a space that invites you to wander, discover, and hang out. There's something special about its scale and presence as it stands as one of the largest and most iconic independent bookstores in Texas, but never loses that personal, neighborhood feel. Still one of my favorite places to spend time.
