Keeping in the back of my mind that I can't let the name fool me into comparing The Cheesecake Shop to The Cheesecake Factory back home; this place is good to pop into for a quick cheesecake.
Whether it's a last minute birthday or you're on your way to a dinner party, everyone likes a good cheesecake, right? We ordered a full caramel cheesecake to celebrate a birthday with. It was fluffy in texture and a thinner base than to what I'm used to, but it's still got that cheesecake richness.
There's Plenty to choose from, but nothing really out of the ordinary or slightly creative. The only one was passionfruit which stuck out to me, but again, we ended up taking home the caramel, as a safer bet. You can order ahead if you needed something special. Or you can just grab a slice or two. Or hey, even a half a cheesecake. To me, that's not how you want to show up anywhere though, bringing a half of anything really. But either way, that choice is yours.
For an extra $5 they can write a message either directly on the cake or on a chocolate plaque. Everyone who tried the cheesecake liked it, but there was the unanimous thought that it was too rich. Now, it's close to day 3 of a fridge cheesecake and there's still half of the cake left. It'll end up uneaten and in the bin. This is a crime to those cheesecake gods watching over us and it should never happen, but I guess I'll just accept it for what it is. Oh wells.
Will I come back? Only if I need a half a cheesecake. Or a guilty slice. read more
